Penzeys! I am a fan for sure. This quaint little spot won me over quick. My best friend’s mom told me about this spot to get some good olé Vietnamese cinnamon for our homemade cinnamon rolls so I had to go. I went in and felt welcomed. I was greeted by two people and asked if I needed any help. I was taken straight to the cinnamon and browsed around. The place was neat, clean and organized. The prices are great too for these amazing quality spices. I was won over instantly. I went to check out and was greeted by a sweet lady. After we were done she asked if I could help her replace the water jug in the break room. Of course I did it and it was simple. She gave me some new spices to thank me. That was awesome and I fell in love with this spot. Will definitely come back for my spicing needs.

I am not a baker, but came here with my wife about a week ago. I was quite impressed with the spices and seasonings they offer here and the expertise and friendliness of the staff. We mentioned that this was our first time shopping here and they even gave us a free sample of something(which I’ve heard is rare for them to do). I can’t wait to try the mint hot chocolate mix we bought here once the weather gets cooler. And the seasonings we got here have added some spice to our lives.

Always good customer service. Great varieties. I usually get the following spices from here and have never been disappointed: bold taco seasoning, garlic powder, bay leaves, cinnamon and turkish seasoning. I totally prefer to get my spices from here than from the grocery store

This is a terrific place for foodies! Every kind of spice known to man! They had 5 or six kinds of ginger alone. We received a box of these Penzey spices as a wedding gift and have been hooked ever since. I like that they have two sizes of most spices so you can get a small bottle of the spice to try.

I’ve been a catalog customer for years but when I found this store I was in HEAVEN. Definitely the BEST place to buy top notch spices! The prices aren’t that bad given the quality you get. The Vietnamese cinnamon is simply the most incredible I’ve ever had. Great selection and the employees are always friendly and helpful! You’ll never buy supermarket spices again!

Best spice market in the area. You cannot beat the freshness of their products. Much easier to work with than Pendery’s. Excellent freshness!

What an amazing place! You walk in and your nose is just hit with overwhelming deliciousness of smells. The staff is friendly and well-versed in their products. No question is to simple. Whether you are a novice or an expert in cooking their staff will make you feel right at home. I so appreciated there are menus all around the store for the taking. Plus, there are containers here in there so you can get a whiff of the amazing spices. Who knew cinnamon had so many different smells!

Incredible. I have not purchased dried herbs, spices, salt nor pepper at any other place since I found Penzey’s 5 years ago. They have the freshest products you will ever find, anywhere in the city. It’s just the 2 of us, so for most products I go for the smaller bottles. They have great gifts I love giving at Christmas and birthdays. Their salt selection is better than Whole Foods and Central Market and they have the best salt and pepper grinders you can find. All of this at a really convenient location. Well, it will be if they ever get 635 finished. Some of my favorites are the toasted onion powder, Ozark seasoning and their Mexican vanilla, but really everything I have ever got from here has been wonderful. The friends and family I have given their products too also love them and rave over how fresh they are. If you sign up for their mailing list, the monthly catalog they send has a coupon for a free bottle they are featuring that month. The catalog you pick up at the store does not have the coupon, so get on the list. So far my name has not been sold. Love it.

«Great Selection» Getting ready for a Jamaican dinner party I was expecting it to be really expensive, and reek if strong herbs and spices. It was actually really nice. I got a chance to walk around comfortably with out a cashier chasing me and offering stuff. I ended up buying a bag full of stuff.

Great to have a dedicated spice shop like this available. Wanted to grind up my own mix of shichimi togarashi and found everything except the nori seaweed which I can get elsewhere.

I have been here twice both times to get Vanilla Bean(Madagascar & Mexico) and Dutch Process Chocolate. Both ingredients from Penzeys take my cakes to the next level! The employees are very helpful and they also have various fact and recipe cards around the shop that offer even more information.

I love to cook and Penzey’s spices, seasonings, and assorted other products are indispensable for making my meals a success. Plus, I’ve found all of their products are generally priced less and are much fresher than similar products at the large grocery stores.

Overpriced for a very small variety… They had one kind of garlic powder… Does not compare to the spice shops we’re used to in Chicago, sorry

Top spot for spices in Dallas. Four different cinnamons, vanillas, and great spice blends. Shallot pepper blend works well with just about everything. A half-dozen whole peppercorn options. You can pickup spices in glass jars, then later buy plastic 4oz or 8oz zip locks to refill your jars. Some time-saving dried vegetable options(chopped shallots, celery, etc). One wish? Dried mushrooms(porcini, etc) would complete my shopping list.

This place is great! The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. You can smell the spices before you decide to buy them. They have a lot of unique/hard to find herbs/spices. And their proprietary blends are GREAT! I have the Ruth Ann’s Chicken and Fish seasoning, it’s amazing and goes well on chicken, fish — but veggies as well. If you sign up to receive their catalog they’ll occasionally send coupons for a jar of free spice. It definitely keeps me coming back to the store! You will pay a little more for their spices than the cheap dollar spices at wal mart… but it’s soooooo worth it! Makes all the difference in your cooking.

I’ll be honest right up front: The only things wrong with Penzeys are(1) they’re not close enough to my house and(2) they’re a little spendy. But, there are times when you really just want a quality product, even if it does cost a little more. Not everything has to be part of the«race to the bottom». Their store has a «gourmet feel» inside, with nice product presentation, good lighting and just an overall inviting atmosphere. The products have lots of information about origin and ingredients, along with recipes and other cooking tips. There are a variety of sizes available so you don’t have to buy a ton of what you need, only to have it sit in your pantry until 2017. And how are the goods? I’ve tried a number of the products, including chile piquin, Chili 9000 chili powder and a few different Indian spices, and everything has been fresh and flavorful. The bottom line: You’re almost certain to get a dependable product from here. It’s a winner, for sure.
