Pho Is For Lovers

So,
I haven’t written a review in forever but feel like I need to just based off of the fact that this is the only place I’ve found veggie phở in Dallas!
Everyone else will put vegetables in chicken or beef broth for you, but what’s the point of that? The real veg heads don’t want their veggies swimming in chicken. No thanks.
Aside from that, they don’t have too many other vegetarian options, but their menu really isn’t that large to begin with. The one complaint that I have is that all their vegan/​veggie options are tofu. I don’t always want tofu.
I do however always want egg rolls and they don’t have vegetarian. :(
All in all, phở is solid. Veggies are fresh. and they will substitute extra veggies for tofu at no extra charge. I’m content :)
Place is kind of small though, definitely wouldn’t bring a group here. Only have ever come by myself and it seems to work well that way. Maybe +1 or 2

Absolutely hands down the best Phở I have had. Ever. The Beef Phở is where I go when I am cold. It is where I go when I HAVE a cold. It is where I go when I want soup. It is where I go when I want hot food. It is where I go pretty much at least once a week. I have tried the other Phở places around town and they just do not do it for me like Phở is for Lovers does.

First and last time coming to Phở is for lovers. The prices are on the high side for Phở, and the broth’s flavor is mediocre. I dove right in with the beef phở. The service was quick, and efficient. If you really want a better Phở try Phở 95 in Arlington. They spend less on marketing because they have truly authentic and delicious food… Disappointing …

This place is like phở– fast food style. You order at the counter and then take a seat. The selection is minimal and the prices are pretty expensive. Nearly $ 10 for a bowl of phở is pricey, especially for a place that doesn’t really serve you. The phở taste was average and there was something terribly wrong with the spring rolls. It’s not the usual yummy grilled pork, but some dry thin sliced pork that looked a week old. My friend had the Korean BBQ plate that just tasted of soy sauce and mush. It was a very busy place, but I don’t think we will be back.

Phở is For Lovers Greenville location is my to-​go-​to within a 15 minute drive. It’s likely they do use MSG in their broth, but I can’t say with certainty which other Phở place I would prefer over Lovers due to MSG. Long story short, the MSG levels in their broth is acceptable for me. What I really like about the place is how quickly the food is served, consistent quality, and their Vietnamese coffee. I can get my beef phở and vietnamese coffee fix from one place so I am pretty happy with that. They have bun bo hue from Friday through Sunday (spicy lemongrass soup with thick round noodles) and it’s worth trying!
I am taking off 1 star, because their non-​phở options has been disappointing, particularly the Thai papaya salad. I think the service can be hit or miss looking at the other reviews. My calls to the restaurant has always been answered the first try for example, but I do have a problem that they are regularly out of re-​useable utensils when I go on weekdays at lunch and early evenings on the weekends. Utensils are basic self-​serve items that customers shouldn’t have to ask for every other time they visit.
Overall, I do agree that service needs improvement. I’ve been to this location about 15 times in 2015.
Tip for beef phở takeout: Depending on how quickly your order was put together and how long before the food makes it to your dining table, the broth may have cooled considerably and therefore is not hot enough to cook the rare/​raw beef. You can quickly test the temperature yourself and if there are doubts, reheat the broth over stove top or microwave then add in the beef and/​or noodles.
I prefer heating over stove top when needed and then adding both noodles and beef for about 30 seconds as the broth simmers then remove off stove. It’s not convenient to have to do this and unfortunately is a compromise when you takeout raw food that relies on a cooling heat source to cook it.

Hmmmm where do I even begin?! I know there are better Phở restaurants located in the Garland/​Richardson area but todays one of those days where I dont feel like making the 25 minute commute. I’ve never been to this location before and have been wanting to try this place for quite some time now.
I ordered the Beef Phở with thinly sliced meat (Phở Tai) and it was not what I expected to taste at all. I could taste the MSG and the high amount of sodium in the broth itself which made me consume more water. I’m not sure how the chef made the broth but I know it was certainly NOT something I would even consider to be a mediocre bowl of Phở. I did like how fast the food came out after ordering it at the counter. There is one thing that makes this phở joint different from others and it would be that they offer a phở vegetarian option which is pretty rare.
Overall: I don’t recommend coming here and probably will not be returning for awhile.

We received two coupons for two entrees free from this location. We received these coupons because a couple of weeks ago I ordered a bowl of the seafood phở and it was literally not only the worst phở I’ve ever had, but one of the worst things I’ve ever tasted. After eating ¹⁄₃ of it I immediately went to the bathroom to throw up.
I thought I had received these coupons in an act of redemption from how horrible the phở was. We order to go and try to use the coupons, only for them to tell me that the coupons are only applicable to appetizers. Then the woman at the desk and the manager explain to me that in their twisted world, an «entrée» is the word they use for «appetizer». I have NEVER heard of this before.
I will not be returning this store and honestly? If you want good phở go to Ba Le #1. At least their phở is authentic and the prices are cheaper. I am just astounded at the lack of customer service of this location.

I love this place! I’ve been coming to this place for quite some time now. It’s a convenient spot near uptown Dallas, and I always enjoy my meals here. I specifically love their bun bo hue (a spicy beef broth), and their beef phở! It’s on point. The broth is flavorful, and overall just a really good soup base.
I also love their KBBQ Banh Mi. The bread is super crunchy, and the beef is always very flavorful. I also love the kimchi they put on the beef — it makes the dish complete.
Definitely great little quaint spot in the heart of Dallas!

So just got off the phone with one of the staff members he said there is no manager to talk to. I took photos of my food apparently they serve the beef flanks raw which I already knew but the broth was not hot enough to cook the beef. He really didn’t care he said that’s how we served it people liked it they never had complaints about it look at my photos tell me if I’m wrong.

The food is great. The coconut water is even better. But why do you have phone if your employees aren’t made to answer it. I’m at home sick this evening and asked a neighbor to swing by and pick up an order, one I intended to call in so she didn’t have to wait and be inconvenienced. I called literally 20 times and no one answered. If this was a one time deal I would understand. But it’s every time I try call in an order (the last 7 – 8 times). If you are all genuinely that busy, maybe you could hire an employee solely to man the phones, or set up an online ordering system for those of us who don’t care to wait the 10 – 20 minutes it can take.

The best Phở in the neighboring area, but there are better places if you are willing to drive. For those in uptown, Lakewood, and the Park Cities, this is one the best Phở joints without the haul to Garland or Richardson. Slight downside: you pay for the privilege. And the peanut sauce could be so much better.
But the bigger issue: SERVICE.
Granted, one should not expect a lot from a Phở restaurant.
However, when ordering takeout, one would expect to get what was ordered. More than SEVERAL times, we’ve ended up with someone else’s order, or not exactly what we ordered.
Tips:
— CHECK your order before you leave, every time.
— Be prepared to chat with folks who apparently couldn’t care less about you. Hey, they are busy.
— If you try to call in an order, and no one answers, make it a point to SKIP this restaurant for the day. They are easily overwhelmed, and you can easily find yourself waiting 20 – 30 minutes for food.
4 stars food, 2 for service.

My first time having phở and it was good! My boyfriend had the chicken, and I had the seafood. They were both good, and surprisingly filling, but there wasn’t much seafood included in mine. I think I counted two scallops and 3 shrimp total-​definitely not worth the upcharge.

Love love this place!
I used to go a couple times a month when I lived in Dallas and it was always superb.
The broth is perfect, absolutely perfect!
The seating area is teeny tiny, so definitely avoid the lunchtime rush. But dinner time usually has many more options. Their to-​go service is great though! They package everything up really nice and give you lots of little containers with all the sauces and toppings.

Bummed to have to update this review…
a friend and I went recently to get the Tofu Phở. My friend thought it tasted ‘different’. We both got ill after eating it, I had food poisoning symptoms for almost a week afterwards. Will not be chancing eating there again.

I love this place. We eat here very often and it is always consistently great!
We usually call ahead for take out and it’s always correct and ready quickly.
A lot of phở places don’t have a truly vegetarian option but they have a vegan broth that still has tons of flavor!

Great spot on the strip and the customer service was good for counter service.
Place your order at the counter and take a number to your table. The food «PHO» had great flavor, but not enough noodles. Others at my table ordered different items and all enjoyed.
I will try its again and would recommend.

If you want phở, but don’t want to drive to Richardson, this is your place! I always come here with my SMU friends on chilly days when we need a hot bowl of Beef Phở.
Today, I tried their KBBQ banh mi which was $ 6. It was really filling and delicious! I also ordered egg rolls, which were great as well.
Service here is always pretty fast and the restaurant is always very clean with a trendy atmosphere.

This place is amazing for quick and on the go! Wonderful restaurant with a simple menu. I’d recommend this place if you’re in a hurry (like a lunch break).
The store was very clean with modern and simple décor. Very small and the menu is at the front right when you walk in on huge TVs. You order at the counter before you sit. The menu is small with a few phở bowls, banh mi choices, rice/​noodle dishes, appetizers, and Vietnamese drinks. We ordered beef phở, bun bo hue, and Vietnamese eggrolls. After ordering you receive a number and you place on whatever table.
The food came out in less than 10 minutes. It’s not extremely authentic however for the price, it tastes amazing. The Bun Bo Hue is my top pick from there. I will definitely come back since I just moved to this area.
Customer service was wonderful with multiple staff answering our questions at the beginning and waiting on us to the end.

I’m a big fan of this restaurant, but I have to be honest and admit that I have yet to try the phở. How can one even begin to review a place with phở in its name when I haven’t had the dish?! I don’t know, but every time I’ve been it’s been a quick experience and I order the fantastic banh mi, specifically the korean bbq.
It’s a great little sandwich for a very reasonable price of $ 6. One day I’m gonna sit down and enjoy a bowl of phở, but for now this is one of my favorite places around university park to hop over, grab a great sandwich, and hop back to the grind.

While I was originally skeptical of the high phở prices (I can get it so much cheaper and a much larger portion elsewhere!), I was lured by the close location and the coupons I had (what can I say, I AM Asian).
I usually judge how good phở is by how crack-​like the broth is — this one was so addicting that I had to resist slurping up the entire bowl. And, to my delight, I didn’t feel like chugging gallons of water later that night, as I usually do after a phở/​sodium/​MSG binge.
Although prices are higher, the phở is quality and it comes with a good amount of meat and balls. I could do with more bean sprouts on the side, but I suppose the lack of sprouts and basil perhaps results from the clientele that they serve? (Maybe they’re not fans of the sprouts).
They have a simple menu of phở, vermicelli, and rice plates. Everything I’ve tried there has been pretty good, except for the spring rolls — those were a bit disappointing. But I’d definitely come back next time I was feeling the need for a hit of phở.
