Kind of amateur hour at PhoneFix.
Trip #1: Made an appointment online and took an iPhone with a cracked screen — the phone worked fine, but the cracked screen made me feel like my 20-​something daughter. Picked it up in an hour or so. Realized when I got home that I had no wifi and no service.
Trip #2: Showed up first thing in the AM. Several people waiting. Explained the issue, the guy said it would go to the end of the line. Fair enough I guess. Came back in a couple hours. He said the previous guy had forgotten to attach the phone antenna, but «you actually never had wifi but I fixed that, a part was missing». So apparently, Apple forgot the wifi part, and my magical iPhone managed to still get wifi (and I know because i changed my router name the week before, «homeless circus clown mission» being a good one for the neighbors to worry about). So apparently my magic iPhone lost its mojo at PhoneFix, and then they re-mojo’d it? I guess maybe the first «tech» had left the part out, but guy #2 said that was impossible.
Trip #3 — Service died and the screen went to hell. Just getting a finger close triggered buttons like crazy. i apparently accidentally called 911, then the russian embassy, and didn’t want to trigger world war 3, so took the phone back. Got there 5 minutes before their 10AM opening. At 10:05, tech number one showed up to unlock, but wouldn’t let me inside until he had opened all the mini blinds. Came back an hour later — he said he replaced the entire screen.
As of today, service still cuts on and off randomly, as does wifi. If you give the phone a good shake, service comes back, but I generally get one bar where I got 4. My wife thinks I’m having an affair since «it always goes to voicemail» and my kids think I suddenly hate them. My clients think I’m in rehab or something (I’m self employed and this is my work phone as well).
So yeah, these guys are like $ 5 less than other local places (and they’re the closest to my home, too). I’ve wasted like 5 hours and sixty bucks and still don’t have a functioning phone since they «fixed» it three times. So I’ll poke around Unilocal and find a place where the Three Stooges are only on the television and not yelling «MOE LARRY CHEESE» while they throw tools at phones, and see if I can get a stop payment or credit card refund. I see many folks have had OK experiences here, other so-​so, so maybe keep in mind –it’s a crap shoot here.

I took my Iphone in for repair for a cracked screen. Everything was smooth and the new screen looked fantastic. Later that day, I noticed buttons while I talked were being «pushed» such as speakerphone and number digits were dialing or the mute button pushed… all the while I was trying to talk. I called and was told to bring it back and they would take a look. I took it back two week later when I had some extra time and this is when it all went downhill. The tech that day was rude, condescending and truly made me feel like I was an idiot. He told me it was the proximity sensor and tested that. The test was pulling the phone off your ear over and over and over and over, which is not how a real call would be made. He set the phone down and said it was fine. I told him that 30 seconds of whatever he just did not mimic how I use the phone to replicate the problem. He said the phone was fine. I asked him for the managers or owners name and he scibbled it down and slammed the paper down in front of me… OK, I guess I just got a bad apple. I emailed Brandon and a few days later, we connected. He told me he would research it and get back to me. He did not. I had to follow up myself and was then told it was likely coincidental and perform a full restore. I told him I was not adverse to a full restore but was leaving for vacation for a week plus and did not want to risk doing that until I got back since I was worried about losing data. I would be happy to do the full restore when I got back BUT was needing him to extend the warranty by a week (would have expired while I was gone) so we could still work towards a solution when I got back. And that is when the owner figured out his way out and went quiet. No reply at all. So, I have a phone with a lovely new screen but still messes up on actual phone calls. So, my suggestion is pay the $ 10 more somewhere else and have a better more professional experience.

These guys saved the day for me again! I’ve used them twice before because they always give the lowest price I can find. My charging port was broken on my Samsung Galaxy S4. They fixed it and replaced my broken screen in under 30 minutes. I made my appt online, which I was a little hesitant about, it being completely automated, but they had the appt and we’re ready for me when I got there. The tech was extremely friendly and took the time to show me where the charging port was corroded, explaining how it happened so I could avoid it in the future!

I went here to have my screen repaired on my iPhone 5C. They charge me about $ 125 which I thought was reasonable. Less than a week after it was installed, I was putting it back in the giant OtterBox I purchased there, and the screen cracked again. I went into the store to ask if they had any kind of warranty and they said no. Although this was disappointing, I understood it.
However the girl who was helping me looked at the phone and asked how I put it back in the OtterBox. I showed her how. She said, «if you do it correctly I don’t understand how you can crack your screen.» At this point to begin to get frustrated. I said «I don’t know how my screen cracked. I believe it’s probably an inferior product. A screen shouldn’t crack when you’re putting it back in the case!» She repeated that I must have done it wrong.
At that point it became angry. So they couldn’t help me, fine. But then to basically accuse me of lying about how the screen broke again, was really a kick when I was already down.
Bottom line there screens are absolute JUNK, they don’t standby their product, and they have the rudest customer service ever.
Avoid this place like the plague.

I just went here to get a battery repair and they had instant and excellent service, and The prices are in a nice range (unlike Apple stores) and I’m looking Forward to getting more phone repairs here.

I’m kind of new to reviews on Unilocal but decided to write a review on this repair shop only because I had another cracked screen and found a better shop and more bang for my buck.
I shattered my screen back in April and I was desperate to fix my phone and so not having the time bc of my work schedule I let my husband take my phone here. He was happy it only took 20 mins to fix. However when he brought my phone back home I was pleased that my screen was fixed but for some reason my home button was not working the same as before and my front camera was not aligned properly. I was not satisfied with the job but I realized that when you break something it never goes back to the same way it used to be so I didn’t make a big deal and didn’t feel like wasting time going back to the repair shop.
But now that I cracked my screen again decided to look for a new repair shop bc I didn’t want to pay another $ 100 for a sloppy job. The repair shop I found priced me the same AND fixed the home button and camera issue. Had my home button and front camera not been messed up I would’ve been a repeat customer. I believe people should take pride in their work and not let customers leave with half-​way done job even if the customer doesn’t notice while being there. The point is the job needs to be done right the 1^st time and I understand we are humans and make mistakes. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to this shop, go to find another place.

Expensive but they are the only repair shop in the area so why not take advantage of desperate people?!

The owner reached out to me about the issue and it looks like there was some miscommunication. He apologized about my wasted trip and said he will talk to his employees about calling/​texting for cancellations (My cancellation email never made it to my inbox). He also offered to repair my phone at a discounted rate. I decided to just keep the phone until my next upgrade, but I really appreciate his efforts. I’m glad he takes his time to actually follow up with complaints and make an effort to fix problems. I increased 2 stars because I found out I actually did get a notification, and because the owner seems to actually care.

I had the same sensitivity issue after they fixed my cracked screen. The hipster guy behind the desk who worked on my phone said that it was prbly the screen protector. When I asked for a refund, he got an attitude and ripped off my screen protector. As he was trying the figure out how to refund my $ 10, he said I guess the phone isn’t working now. So, it wasn’t the protector and he rudely told me to take a seat while he worked on my phone. After about 15 min, he said «I’ve fixed your phone and refunded you your money.» He left my phone and $ 10 on the counter and walked off.
If you go here, check your phone before you leave to make sure that they haven’t screwed up something else because customer service is not something they care about.

No frills, just business. Know that you must make an appointment, no biggy. This was the most wallet friendly business in the area. Don’t bother with the groupon as they offer the same low price, so it’s not necessary.
My phone was repaired swiftly and restored back to normal.

You really can’t beat $ 49 for an iPhone 4S screen replacement. These guys worked fast to repair my phone.
My only gripe is that after it was repaired, my home button stopped working (after I left, initially it didn’t function at all and then my phone Siri function would just randomly come on about once every hour without anything even touching my phone). I couldn’t make it back out here for a couple of weeks but once I finally made, they corrected the issue. They emailed me once I made the second appointment and said that I was outside of the 30-​day warranty timeframe and additional charges might apply. However, they did not charge me for any additional work. After the second appointment my home screen is still constantly rotating and acting a little finicky.

I found Phone Fix through Groupon. Found it right after my iPhone was run over several times in a parking lot. Thankfully, the screen was just cracked an there was no LCD damage.
They work on appointment only. I went online and made an appointment for the same day. It said be prepared to leave your phone, but I got in and they got me taken care of in less than 30 minutes!
The tech was courteous and efficient. He also said that if I need anymore assistance, contact them directly and he could offer me the same Groupon. I would definitely recommend them to others.

Terrible experience. Initial visit and 3 return visits over the course of 2 weeks. Drew and Brandon still could not fix my iPad.
I brought in my iPad for a typical cracked screen, not shattered, just a crack on the edge of the glass. 4 – 5 days later, i return to pick it up, get home and realize the WIFI no longer worked, as i could only get a signal if i was sitting next to the access point. I called them, and was told by Drew that there is no way he could have damaged the wifi antenna. i insisted it didn’t work and brought it back. After showing the problem, they agreed to keep it. another 4 – 5 days. Pick up iPad again, this time wifi works, but the screen jumps all over the place, keys are clicked on their own, it moves on its own. And the screen is even pulling off of the iPad. Unbelievable. They say this time that again, this is not something they could have done. «Not sure why YOUR IPAD is having so much trouble?» (HMM, why do they keep making it sound like my fault???)
3^rd trip back to their dump of store, i try to explain to Drew the problem and show the symptoms, but he hastily says he knows what is wrong with it, and won’t let me show him the 3 diff ways the problem manifests itself…
4 – 5 days later, i’m told the iPad is ready for pickup and repaired, again… I drive back up there, this time test the iPad and sure enough, its still broken… Its like they hadn’t done anything… And this time they apparently used an old pair of vise grips to pull the screen off, cause they chewed up the corner of my iPad with scratches and gouges in the aluminum case… I showed them the same problems, to which Drew said again, «it was broken when you brought it in to us, but now your screen is no longer cracked». IDIOT!!! It was fully operational when i brought it in… Now its a brick!!!
At that time, the owner Brandon walked in, and was at least intelligent enough to discuss the issues with. Drew stormed out of the store like a child.
However, all brandon would do is give a refund. So i’m stuck with a broken iPad that is now non-​operational.
Do Not EVER go to this storefront to repair a device. You think you’re saving 10 – 20 bucks, but its not worth it. They will not make it right. they will not stand behind their work.

I broke my iPhone 5s shortly after getting it (just as an FYI, Apple does not design them to sustain a fall). and I contacted a bunch of phone repair guys — Brandon and his crew told me that right now, repairs on my latest greatest model were hard, and that I’d be better served to just replace it through Apple. It was refreshing to find a business owner that would be honest with me and tell me that he couldn’t give me the level of service that I deserved, and offer an alternative that wasn’t «bring it in anyway and we can make it work».
Hopefully my fingers will get less buttery, but if they don’t, I have found an honest phone repair company that will get all of my business from now on.

I had an iPad Mini to repair. The screen was completely shattered. AHH! Other places wanted $ 200+ for it. I spoke with Brandon and he usually charges around $ 160 for the repair. He initially told me I would have to come back to pick it up, but once I got there, he looked at it and took about an hour to repair. Another employee was at the location, and he didn’t have much going on when I showed up so he asked if I could stay and wait while he repaired the screen. (Why not? What else was I going to do around 4 but sit in traffic??) He did inform me that it wouldn’t entirely feel like new, as he did have to take apart everything and put it back together… but as long as the screen isn’t shattered any more and everything still works. so what! (: When he was finished, he actually gave me a better rate that expected, YAY! He even told me that he stopped doing work on the iPad mini’s because they are an incredible hassle to replace the screens. and more costly than the regular iPad’s. The front of the iPad was having a hard time staying all the way sealed around the edges for a little bit, but likely due to the cold of the place — so he gave me a case that would actually hold it in place (since the one on it didn’t really do that at all) and told me to leave it on for a few days just so there are no issues. I checked the edges a while ago, and everything looks great now. It still charges perfectly and the home button and touch screen all work just like before! Thank you for doing such an amazing job, Brandon! And thank you for doing it so quickly and at such a great rate!
Seems like some of these people who have given a bad review didn’t really read the waiver that they sign — they’re taking apart a phone. they can’t guarantee it to be EXACTLY like it was before ‘you people’ messed it up. That’s why they have you sign a waiver… Also seems as though some of these people just have bad blood toward the owner, Brandon, himself. You shouldn’t base your reviews on personal issues or personal situations with him just so you can try to destroy his business. Seems petty to me. They were nothing but professional, quick, honest, and cost efficient.
Heaven forbid anything happens to any of my electronics again, but if it does. I’ll definitely be going to Brandon’s store. (They now have a location in Korea! Crazy!!)

I pride myself on writing accurate and fairly objective reviews… and reading some of the reviews here… I cannot believe they are talking about the same business that I experienced.
First of all, I was first a bit miffed at the idea of having to schedule an appointment to get my phone fixed (dropped my uncovered Sam Note II on the concrete)… But then after thinking about it, I realized it was an awesome idea (provided I could get a slot soon). Think about it, dropping off your phone, waiting days, or mailing it and waiting… not the case here. Of course, there might be some technical issues that require more time than my case of needing a glass replacement.
Well I walked in, and yes, you can tell it’s a small small business, but my appointment happened on time, The service was very professional, and my phone was fixed in roughly 20 mins. I was comfortable, with seating provided, and a television to distract while I was unable to fidget with my phone (wish it were playing news instead of a soap opera LOL)… However, they did have some better than department store priced accessories (protective covers, data & power cables, etc., to shop…
And so… Drum Roll Please… my phone was fixed and appears to be as new (except for the scratch on the case caused by impacting the ground). The glass is all I had replaced, so I cannot reference the quality of LCD they use for replacement… but the Glass is great, and appears to be as good as my original.
The price was the best I had found within 15 miles of where I live (near Arapaho & Coit). I am recommending this business to all my friends and associates walking around with cracked screens… especially for the iPhone users since this business is offering discounts via Groupon. The discounts for non-​iPhones were sold out when I last checked. But the price was still great.

Easy, quick, affordable.
I didnt mean to break my phone (who does?) so when I got on facebook and started asking around Phone-​Fix kept coming up from many of my equally clumsy friends. So I headed up to the store after calling and making an appointment.
It’s pretty much no frills, I went in and sat down since I didnt have anywhere to go. They fixed my phone in about an hour as I watched TV in the lobby. I wish there were some more food options to have chosen from around the location but that is no fault to Phone-​Fix.
The bill was cheaper than I thought it would be, the repair was faster than I thought it would be, and the people were nicer than I thought they would be. Basically the whole experience was awesome and I would recommend them to anyone seeking phone repair.
Thanks for the easy repair, but hopefully I dont have to come back anytime soon! :)

First off it doesnt matter if it was almost a year ago brandon, your business is garbage like you and people have the right to know. Secondly, I did have my phone number for your appointment and I asked on the phone anyway and your peon said yes you did have the black sprint iphone in stock. Thirdly, testing a phone after replacing the screen does not require unlocking a phone, all you have to do is unclip the digitizer connector and clip in the new one, if you dont know that then I REALLY feel sorry for people going to your business because you apparently know less then a rock when it comes to fixing phones, clown. PLEASE PLEASE post the video to youtube and attach the link here! I am calling your bluff, you clown!

Let me preface this bad review by saying that I never leave bad reviews on Unilocal but this place really deserves it. Also sorry for the long length.
I was gifted a living social deal for this place because I had to replace the front screen of my iphone 4. I don’t even live in Dallas but was going to be there for the weekend. The Living Social Deal is the only reason I drove all the way out to White Rock Lake. This is in the most inconvenient location ever unless you live in the area.
When I took my phone in I also asked that they try to repair the home button that wasn’t working. They quoted me 20 minutes for both repairs… an hour later the screen was fixed but they were unable to fix the home button. The phone looked in good shape so I took it home and later that night I tried to charge it and it wouldn’t charge. I called them to see what could have happened that would have broke that part of the phone. They asked that I mail it in since I don’t live in the area.
They called me 2 days later when they received the phone. I spoke with Drew, who assured me that nothing that they did could have possibly caused the charge port to be damaged. I told him to go ahead and replace the port. I then called 3 local iphone repair shops and all of them said that it was very possible to damage the charge port when taking apart the phone to fix the front screen or the home button. After the phone was fixed I talked to Drew again and shared this information with him. He wouldn’t budge on it possibly being their fault. I ended up paying for the extra part just so I could get my phone back and because they would not admit any fault.
I’m of the opinion that if you take something in to be fixed and you leave with something else damaged, it doesn’t seem right that you should have to pay to fix it. At the very least these guys should test the phones before they start opening them up to avoid problems like this in the future. I’m sure there are people that would try to get a free repair this way.
On another note this place charges WAY more than most companies to fix cracked screens. A screen on an iphone costs on average 10 – 15 dollars for the part. These clowns charge $ 99.99 dollars for the part/​repair. So about 75 bucks or more is their labor charge. Almost every other place in the Dallas Metroplex charges about 15 dollars less for this same repair. Save yourself some money and go elsewhere!

I got a Groupon deal, half of the regular price to get my phone fixed! I made an appointment on the website and it was a little hard to get to that location, going I-​30 East, I didn’t know which exit to take to get there, and didn’t even see a U-​Turn.
Anyway, I was greeted immediately and the guy was nice and told me it’d take about 20 minutes, and after that. magic happened, my horribly cracked iPhone looked liked a brand new phone!
Now I know where this place is and I won’t worry next 10 times I crack my phone’s screen again since I hate having a case on my phone!
