History
Established in 1982.
In Italian, Prego means welcome. We want to welcome you to our family restaurant. The original location on Greenville Avenue was opened in a building owned by the Barraco family and built by Jim Barraco, Senior, in 1951. Joe and Rose Barraco’s sons — Jimmy, Joey and Tony — had the idea that this location would make a great restaurant.
The entire family got involved and Prego Pasta House was opened in 1982. Rose Barraco used her long-time family recipes and passed her «magic touch» to her sons.
It is our goal to offer the finest foods prepared from the best ingredients and highest quality products we can find. We use genuine baby veal, USDA Choice Steaks, chicken and Homemade Italian Sausage. All of our sauces are prepared from scratch and without the use of MSG. However, the most important ingredient we have at Prego is you — the customer. We will do our best to see that you receive the prompt, courteous service and quality food you deserve.
Sincerely,
The Barraco Family
