Been going here for many years. It does not seem to be a gay bar anymore. Went down for Halloween and it was borderline fun with some people in good costumes, but the World Series Royals vs Mets game was playing and the bartender could not get both TV and music channel to work. No problem, I have it on Mr smartphone. Then I am sitting there and this guy says«Can you move so my wife can sit down», not really a question, more of a demand. There were plenty of seats across the bar, but he needed mine. Thankfully there are some queer bars across the street still so I did not have to drive to the crossroads.

It was«Trashy Tuesday» on Fitzhughs dark gay strip, chocked with male dancers and all the scandal that goes along with it, is anomalic to the 500k + uptown condo surrounds that borders ritzy Highland Park. «Zipperz(an old standing Dallas gay strip club.) has valet parking now and I’m not doing that. If you ever thought something was wrong with Dallas, that seals the deal. Move now.» My friend griped. «Let’s go to Pub Pegasus.» He said which had ample parking. «Isn’t that super seedy?» My stomach churned. «No it’s better now.» My friend lied to soften the blow. «The last time I came here I met a gorgeous muscle man who asked me to give him money for Meth in exchange for sex.» I lamented as we parked. Pub Pegasus defines the word«dump» with its sour bleach smell barely masking mold and scum in an empty cheap generic old bar setting that looks like a nasty relic of old Las Vegas that hadn’t been cleaned or remodeled since 1950. The small back pool table room is painted in porn set pink. It looks haunted. The bad juke box selection was still a reprieve to hopes for a better life than this bar fly breeding ground. At best it feels like a freshly flushed toilet bowl. «Any drink specials?» I asked the bartender in the red neon glow. «$ 2.50 domestic beers and well drinks.» He reported. BJs strip club across the street is packed on Tuesdays, so maybe this was meant to lure over the crowd. There were 5 people in the bar. We went out to the dark cheap patio, surrounded in a wood lattice work which looked an easy hideaway for doing something illegal. A friendly lesbian befriended us as she detailed damaging childhood personal events of growing up in east Texas. It was really too much to handle, but if your looking for a deep dive bar experience this place could definitely cure a writers creative block.

Oh Pub Pegasus… a trashy dive bar that people accustomed to Uptown would love to hate. LOL! Hey, it’s a fun bar. I’ve never had problems being welcomed here. The dancers are fun, too, and all-around friendly guys. Especially if you’re good at tipping them without trying to fuck them. Give these guys a break and tip them well — they are just trying to earn a living like the rest of us! Drinks are strong and cheap, and there’s plenty of seating around should you want to put your feet up. Yes, it’s divey, but that is part of it’s charm in a way. Not all gay bars should be flashy and crowded with sweaty twinks.

I’d follow Thom Martin to the moon and back if he was tending bar there… This man is a master mixologists… No one does a long island the way this guy does… and the conversations are always the best… if you are looking for the best bartender in Dallas look no further… U found it with Thom @pub Pegasus!!!

I’ve gone into this place twice, and both times it’s been as though I walked into someone’s private living room: there seems to be a group of regulars that all know each other, and any outsider that comes in, they stop talking and stare. If anything, they should make this a private clubs, that way they can screen who goes in. Just sayin’.

5 stars YES– 5 whole f’in stars! I like this divey place and its location. Always have my drink full and no bullshit from Dallas queens. If you want a circus and lipgloss I’d suggest Oak Lawn bars. Nice large bar to sit around and converse with friendly people and occasionally the hot straggler walks in as well. Give it a shot!

I’ve been in Dallas for a while and just got tired of the same old drama and attitude on Cedar Springs. So I started to hang out at Pub Pegasus a few months ago and absolutely love the place. If you’ve ever wanted a «Gay Cheers»…then this is it. People who come here seek:(1) a nice atmosphere with(2) bartenders who are hospitable and attentive, and(3) a crowd that’s truly laid back and friendly. I read the reviews written and frankly can picture these folks walk in and walk out b/c it wasn’t a JRs type of bar. During the day, it’s more of a retired older crowd coming in to chat with friends. After 8pm the bar draws a more younger crowd. The bar continues to transition with minor upgrades here and there. They have a wii bowling competition every couple of weeks and a pool table for those billiards pros. Eventually everyone gets to know your name and you’re treated like family. No drama or attitude at this bar… just good friendly folks.

This bar is in desperate need of a makeover. Turn down the lights and its fine. they have a sweet little stage that houses the karaōke on Friday nights. This place does not get a whole lot of action,(unless you re in the mens room). But on the bright side the drinks are stiff and cheap(like the guys in the mens room) Check it out and discover what the circle of life is all about.

I was always intrigued by this once dreary looking pub randomly placed smack dab in the middle of Fitzhugh ave. One evening I was driving by on my way home and decided to stop in. To my surprise, it was quite the friendly crowd with a nice jukebox. It seems to attract a specific crowd of regulars but also seemed to welcome strangers. They have since spruced up the joint.
