Restland Cemetery is a part of Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which has been operational since 1925. Restland Cemetery s park features the Wildwood Chapel, Abbey Mausoleum and Chapel and Chapel Gardens Mausoleum. It has special sections for veterans and babies. The cemetery s Wildwood Chapel is a nondenominational and nonsectarian facility that can accommodate up to 100 individuals. Restland Cemetery is spread over an area of more than 375 acres. Its Whispering Waters Mausoleum includes self-contained waterways and ground burial estates. The cemetery s Abbey Mausoleum offers a 65-seat chapel. Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery additionally provides community, chapel and garden mausoleums. Restland Cemetery is located in Dallas.
History
Established in 1925.
Restland Funeral Home was built in 1957, and a 30,000-square-foot, full-service facility, capable of assisting families both locally and throughout the world. The funeral home includes 22 staterooms and a 250-seat chapel. Restland was founded in 1925. In 1935, George Young was named general manager. Six years later, he acquired full ownership of the cemetery. He developed Restland as a beautifully landscaped park with the utilization of in-ground memorial markers. Restland Memorial Park has had over 125,000 interments/entombments and has over 300,000 property owners. Restland Cemetery contains in excess of 375 acres, with additional acreage available for future expansion. The park features include Wildwood Chapel, the Abbey Mausoleum and Chapel, and the Chapel Gardens Mausoleum. Special sections have been developed for veterans, babies and various religions. The magnificent Whispering Waters includes a mausoleum and garden located on the southwest corner of the cemetery.
