Short Stop Food To Go

I like this place overall. It is very quick, convenient, and the food is good. However, I must give this location 3 stars because the last time I ate something from this Short Stop, I brought home a salad, and there was visible dirt all over the lettuce as if it had not been washed. :(Unfortunately, this makes me questions the cleanliness of everything at Short Stop.

Short Stop Food To Go is typical of Dallas. This humble stop and go actually offers up some quality munchies for the ritzier eating families of this North Dallas area. You wouldn’t typically consider chicken salad or the like to be something to fall back on, but it is certainly a more low key sort of stop than Eatzi’s.
Additionally, you will find party trays, ranging from sandwiches to desserts all the way to finger fare. Definitely convenience at its finest. Alongside the idea of convenient, many of the offerings are actually much more affordable than expected.
They do some lunch sammies for those who actually want to drop in for a real bite to eat, though the experience doesn’t boast the same effect as sitting down at a mom and pop diner. A little more in and out, for sure.
Short Stop is a Dallas institution that has been offering quality dips and the like since ’93, so give yourself a little throwback in your fridge by picking something up on the way home from wherever or whatever you are doing in Dallas, whether it is being a house mother, a man fulfilling the American Dream, or a young professional living like a millionaire on an intern salary. That’s right… Dallas.

Short Stop is a perfect option for family takeout. They have the BEST chicken salad, and their chicken and shrimp spring rolls and artichoke rice salad are delicious. Their casseroles are also great, and they’ll fill up your own personal casserole dishes if you want people to think you slaved away all day cooking.
The only bad thing about Short Stop is that they close in the afternoon before I get off work. And while you can sit inside the restaurant and eat your meal, it’s really a better option to take it home or on a picnic.
