Snookie’s Bar & Grill

Sad this place is closed we went for one last time on Saturday. Few beers and conversation with other people at the bar and their memories they had there. As for us it was the place me and my wife had our rehearsal dinner.

I just read they are closing on Sunday. Good riddance. Did not listen to customer complaints (I WANT MY FREAKIN’ ELECTRIC LEMONADE BACK AND SHINER BOCK ON TAP). And what happened to the fries?! ¡Adiós Snookie’s!”

Nice friendly staff, the waitress was extremely helpful, the food was out pretty quick… everything was freshly made. Very clean establishment. They serve comfort food, so all you comfort foodies you will enjoy the «jalapeño cheese bacon fries»…they are fantastic!

It pains me to write this. I started going here when I moved to Oak Lawn in 1994 and even after moving out of the neighborhood, their club sandwich and amazing french fries kept me coming back. I would have killed for those french fries. The uneven service was for the most part ok, even when the service wasn’t prompt it was always friendly.
Over the years there has been a steady slide in direction. Unfortunately, it is in the negative direction. Cherised items left off the menu, favorite drinks no longer available, and possibly the greatest gastronomic sin I have ever had to experience in Dallas: bland french fries. I can live without my club sandwich, but Snookie’s french fries were the best in town! Hot, long, and incredibly seasoned! The first time I got bland fries I thought it was a one time deal, but evidently not. They’re still long, but cold and bland. In-​ex-​cu-​sa-​ble! So disappointed. Snookie’s, you could have turned your place into the diviest, nastiest bar in town and I would still go if you had those incredible french fries. Without those french fries? Meh, not so much.

So I have not even at this place and I am giving one star for customer service!
I have tried in a 30 minute time span to call the restaurants phone and it just rings and no one answers! I called the restaurant 13 times in the 30 minutes! Crappy customer service!

If jalapenos, cheddar, bacon and fries are four of your favorite foodie words, your going to really enjoy all four piled high as an appetizer. Their medium rare burgers were average but tasty. Happy hour was limited to $ 3 buds. Ick. Staff was super attentive, drinks arrived in minutes and we were checked on often. Crowd was a light mix of all ages and there are a few strategically placed TVs. Overall, a nice cozy setting to unwind with coworkers while traffic clears.

Did Geeks who Drink trivia like I used to at West End Pub (rest in peace, old friend). I wish there was more open space like there was at West End so I could better see the competition, but less resentful glares were handed out that day.
The fried mushrooms were pretty good, but the breading of the onion rings just could’ve been better. More salt? Less bread? Not sure, but the combo was just okay. A good cider collection, because my taste buds still cannot acclimate to beer.

Been coming here for years. Great place to grab a beer and some comfort food. Lots of memories here!

I really like this place. The staff are always very friendly and acknowledge you quickly. I like the beer choices and they have more menu options than I would expect. I didn’t have onion rings this time but I do recommend them. I have had the chicken fried steak and it is good. I really like their burgers which is what I had tonight.
I would love to see fish and chips show up as an option.

Great place! It’s never crowded, which is a nice change from most of the other bars/​restaurants in the uptown area. Service is great and food is awesome!

I love the food here not always the best service but great environment and outstanding food you have to try the chicken fried chicken the best of the best

The best friggin menu for all occasions! Awesome service, especially if ur lucky enough to get veteran Mellissa!!! Order a margarita from Ashley, the guy knows what he’s doing!!! TRUST ME

Poor Snookie’s, this used to be my go-​to burger joint, but the years have not been kind and the competition has gotten better while Snookie’s standards are sliding. Burgers were competent, but not well seasoned, they used to be much better. White the fried mushrooms were familiar, the onion rings couldn’t have been hand battered, nor the fries hand cut, not at least in the kitchen at Snookie’s; they both tasted and looked like something that came out of a box.
And service was slow, not walk out and never come back slow, but considering how few tables were filled, I expected much better service.
And there was something wrong with the ambiance, too much light and not (loud) enough music. The place is a little to long in the tooth and not quite clean enough to have the lights as bright as they were when we were there.
This place needs to update their menu. It is the same menu they had 10 year ago, but times have changed and the neighborhood has changed. This place seems like it is stuck in the mud and sinking.

Was there for Trivia on Monday nights and it was a blast! Our waiter Eric rocked! Great food, great service and great entertainment, what more could you ask for?!

Hand cut fries. Not many places still do it. When they’re good, they’re great. When out of season, still pretty dang good.
Reliable for last minute food and drink. «We never close early». True story.

Great atmosphere. Amazing food. WONDERFUL waitresses! You will have an awesome time and leave satisfied.

Left a little displeased with the service tonight. How does your waitress come and tell you that its $ 3 U call it all day, but fail to inform you that the drink you ordering is not part of the special! Kinda ruined my experience when you expect to pay $ 3 per drink and you end up paying $ 7. NOT CUTE! Also ordered food to go (for a .50 charge) and food was ice cold upon arrival… :-(

Always a nice time when we come here. Today celebrating a friend leaving the department we’re in. Trust that’s is something to celebrate. It’s somewhat cold though as it is at times– just bring a jacket when you visit. It is a sports bar so it’s a good amount of tv’s to watch.
Service was cool — waitress was nice.
Food– I didn’t want much so I ordered the cheese fries with bacon and jalapeños.
If I was hungry I would have orders the bison burger well done with everything bread toasted on both sides. Really good burger.

This was easily the worst dining experience I have ever had. I understand the place was busy, but that’s not really an excuse to be rude.
Highlights include:
–Waiting a half an hour for our waitress and finally going to the bar and ordering. Literally waving my arms in the air and being ignored by staff.
–They don’t have Shiner. Which should be illegal in Texas.
–The place looks kind of grimey, and I am from Denton, I don’t have the highest standards.
–When the waitress finally did come, my friend ordered an app with bacon, it came after his burger and only after he asked for it again.
–We were informed they were out of bacon. I repeat OUT OF BACON!
–We won a free beer from trivia and the waitress told my friend he can «get it himself at the bar.»
–The women’s room was out of toilet paper.
–Our waitress was a total bitch for no reason.
Don’t, just don’t.

I used to be a loyal long time customer here for years. I considered it a regular haunt after long day at work. What’s better than an Ice cold beer and what I consider the best hot wings in Dallas?
Well, the past few visits have me seeking other options.
Last night. After waiting nearly ten minutes, no waitress. The place is desolate for a Friday night so not sure what the hold up is. While I wait, I discover… no more wings… bar — wings…= no bueno. I finally order a beer and wait. And wait. And wait. Finally, I leave.
This is really too bad. Oh well, I guess nothing lasts forever. Saying goodbye to an old friend.
