Dr. Venkat Sethuraman and the staff at The Spine Physicians Institute are committed to making your treatment as easy on you as possible. Most of the services you will need are handled on-​site at one of our conveniently located facilities in Dallas, Red Oak, Plano or Irving with access to the most sophisticated technology to provide you with the best care available. We care for patients within the local geographic area, throughout the state of Texas and from multiple other states, and also serve patients from outside of the United States.

History

Established in 2011.

Spine Physicians Institute was founded on the basic premise of providing patients with a one stop approach to back and neck health. By providing patients with board-​certified specialist in internal medicine, spine surgery, sports medicine, pain management, spinal deformities, diagnostic technologies and all of the ancillary services under one roof we are able to dramatically control the quality of the level of care they receive. Dr. Venkat Sethuraman MD is a board-​certified orthopedic surgeon, fellowship trained in spine surgery. Dr. Sethuraman focuses 100 percent in the care of back and neck pain. Dr. Sethuraman specializes in minimally invasive techniques and keeps current on the newest advances in spinal care. Dr. Sethuraman completed a fellowship in spine surgery at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. A fellowship is the most advanced and specialized physician training available.

Long story made short my husband had back surgery with a doctor in waco tx, Dr. Hamilton, jan 8th 2015 he preformed fusion and crushed one of nerves with peducule screw and refused to acknowledge wrong doing. Thats when we came across the most wonderful group of doctors, Dr. Patel and Dr. Sethuraman are miracle workers. We scheduled surgery july 13th at Baylor Los colinas and we just had 2 week check up my husband is walking again thanks to these 2 wonderful Doctors and their incredible medical team. Dr. Patel says golf is in near future as well. Off pain meds in 4 days praise the Lord for guiding us to such knowledgeable surgeons.

I went to Dr Sethuraman in an emergency situation. I had bone spurs that had collapsed a nerve in my upper spine. I went in on a Friday and was in surgery that following Monday. At the time of this experience, I was told BY Dr. Sethuraman, that any costs NOT covered by my insurance would be «written off.» He stated that this was true for his office as well as the surgery center that he preferred to use. The surgery went fine. Follow up was minimal. I was never sent to physical therapy. Then low and behold, I started getting bills for $ 3700. I contacted his office, to which they now became rude, stating this was NEVER said to me and would never be ok. If I didn’t pay the monies I would to collections. I tried calling the doctor, no return calls. I left messages for his «side kick» Jimmy, again no return calls. I have refused to pay this bill on principle since the Man in charge said it would not be owed (I pay my bills!) I made an appointment for tomorrow, cause that’s the only way to speak with him — but now — I just don’t even want to look at a person to lies like this and I will find another back specialist. And yes, I just posted the payment so I do not have to deal with anyone from this office again. BEWARE of what they tell you — get it in WRITING.

You do not get much more knowledgeable than Dr. Sethuraman and his staff at Spine Physicians Institute! If you’ve got back pain do not wait to give these guys a call.

I saw Dr Sethuramen in Oct 2011 for a herniated disc. I ended up going to a different surgeon that I liked better, no big deal.
I was surprised when, in March 2014, I get a bill in the mail from SPI for 1,099.23 from 2011. I was billed three times for one visit, and was being asked to pay for the 2 that the insurance rejected. So I call, leave a message about the error, hear nothing back and assume they corrected it.
I was EVEN MORE SURPRISED to get another bill in the main for the same amount in May. So don’t be surprised if you go here and then receive mystery overbilling years later! And don’t expect them to call you back… they just keep sending bills!
