History

Established in 2014.

Dain Pool and Jon Wagner of Two Trucks LLC, were on a mission for a new food truck concept. They brought you savory sliders, sandwiches and tots with The Butcher’s Son, cured your sweet tooth with crazy flavor combinations on What’s Da Scoop and filled you up on New York Style Pastrami sandwiches with Gandolfo’s New York Deli. But they couldn’t stop there. With their Texas roots it was necessary to establish a Tex-​Mex concept. One that encompassed all of the flavors of the classic cuisine combined with new ideas that would keep people coming back.

The Texas Burrito Company was born. I never write reviews, but this place really pissed me off. At the flower mound food truck thing they surprisingly still had all their food near the end of the event, when most other trucks had many items sold out. Well, this place instead of doing the right thing and telling people that they were sold out and place a ‘sold out’ sign up, they just decided to use what they had left for my burritos. One was supposed to have chicken avocado and bacon, the other barbacoa and a pinapple coleslaw (the main reason I got them). What I got was two burritos one with barbacoa rice and beans and the other chicken rice and beans. These were supposed to be two very different burritos. It was obvious they ran out of ingredients and just didn’t care and continued to make burritos. To top it off my card was charged three times! First he tells me that it’s declined then runs it again and it works just fine. Just something shady about this place. I even heard then tell a guy they had to charge for hot sauce when he asked because his burrito lacked any flavor. Just skip this truck, no run away

So pricing is horrible. $ 11 for a burrito that tastes like any other burrito/​food truck. This place is not recommended and I had the truck that is parked inside the Hawaiian Falls water park. It’s crazy how ridiculously priced the burritos are and how it’s also the size of a small burrito you can get at like Walmart that isn’t anything special. It looks pretty though, I’ll give them that! Presentation was great. Food was quick. Food trucks are really hype. This was def one that was over hyped.

Got lunch here at the Anatole in Dallas. It was a pleasant change when it comes to spice level compared to what I am used to getting back in NYC, but they need a capitalist to run this thing. The cashier kept disappearing for minutes at a time and most of the long line left well before they could be served. I waited 40 minutes with only 35 people before me.
I had the Lonestar in a bowl — pleasant enough with good heat from the poblano peppers. There was too little rice and almost no sour cream at all. I am not sure where the black beans and brown rice came from — it’s less TexMex and more Caribbean. Whatever happened to pinto beans (retried at that)? They forgot to put a napkin in the bag so it was also a bit messier than it needed to be.
I would eat there again if there was nothing else. But any competitor would get a shot first.

Bought a $ 10 burrito at a RoughRider’s game in Frisco, I always thought the ingredients were supposed to go on the inside of a burrito. Instead I got a burrito covered in misc. sauces and condiments, along with a plastic fork that shattered the second I tried to use it.
It’s obvious they haven’t attempted to eat their own food how they serve it to their customers. If they did, they would know their plasticware is garbage.

I’ve eaten from this food truck twice when they visit our office building. It was pretty good except their rice. Both times, my rice was hard and inedible. I’d really like to give this one 2.5 stars for the hard rice. Other than that, I would have given it 3 stars. It’s convenient. The burrito is so large, it can be 2 meals. I like the green chile sauce and the pulled chicken was not too dry. The queso is yummy. The staff was friendly. You will probably spend $ 10-​$ 12 on lunch here. Yes, they accept credit cards/​debit cards.
