The Westin Dallas Park Central

The frost desk staff was very welcoming and friendly at check in. The hotel room was basic but not a 4 star standard.
January 1, 2016 morning, I discovered my car had been STOLEN from the Valet service parking. The keys, the car and everything in it. I have tried for 19 days to get the hotel to respond. I have called and e-​mailed the Westin Dallas Park Central manager and have received nothing back. I was promised to be reimbursed the cost of the rental vehicle to return home to Georgia. Still, nothing. The valet service that contracts to Westin has done nothing with the exception of telling me they are sorry.
The walls are thin, breakfast was over priced and my child found a hair in her food. Very Very disappointed and beyond frustrated.

Room 1010 which I stayed in was completely un Westin like. Company should have saved money and gotten us rooms at Holiday Inn! Plus they charged me after the fact for self parking even though my company paid for everything, they sent me no invoice just charged my card! Their response was to accept their sincere apology. Thanks Westin but I’ll take my business elsewhere!

The worst hotel. I can not believe Westin allows its name on this hotel. The water was out on 2 days from 10−6pm and they failed to notify us at checkin… The carpet looks likes it has not been replaced in the last few decades… The housekeeping is horrible. I asked twice for housekeeping and they never came. One time they were 2 doors town when I requested housekeeping service and they still didn’t clean room… the parking structure is separate. I paid for daily parking through hotel and after card didn’t work to get out of garage, I paid $ 17 to get out of garage. Hotel refused to reimburse, stating parking is separate.

I am shocked this was a Westin. I’ve stayed at SPG brands all around the country and to me, this wasn’t even a Sheraton-​level hotel.
The downstairs/​common areas are beautiful and have obviously been updated. Location is close to the highway. No free breakfast, as was originally promised, but they do have free coffee in the lobby every morning. And a coffee maker in the room. Received an upgrade when the hotel was full — which was super nice.
The room was clean, especially the sheets (love those SPG sheets!), but obviously in need of a facelift/​update. Vanity was chipped in several areas, toilet was running all night, outlets were loose (and not many very outlets). Could barely walk in between the two full beds in the room. Carpet was dirty and again, just everything was really in desperate need of a renovation. They probably started at the common areas and downstairs, but need to start renovating the rooms.
Please note parking is not included and is a confusing structure — get a ticket when you get in, but after checking in, you can use your room key to leave. I think it was $ 18/​night to park on your own — I totally understand if you’re in a bigger city, LA, NYC, DC, etc ($ 18 would be a deal), but you’re not even in downtown Dallas. I don’t get it.
Check in was a breeze and they were very hospitable, but that’s where the pros end.
Many other places to stay in Dallas — would not recommend this and would not return.

l recently stayed at the Westin Park Central in Dallas, TX. For the most part my stay was good with front desk being friendly, attentive, and quick. However, on my last night the fire alarm went off sometime after 4:30 in the MORNING! After a few minutes, the sound stopped but the lights of the fire alarm continued to flash. Despite much confusion and lack of instructions, I along others made our way down to the lobby. While climbing down some heard from friends (on the phone) that the alarm was a false alarm. Apparently this info was announced over the intercom. However, some floors such as mine — the 14^th floor — did not receive or hear any info that it was a false alarm. When I finally reached the lobby there was no one to inform us that the alarm was not real nor anyone to help the guests return to their rooms. The only reason I knew that the fire alarm going off was a false alarm was because I asked a very disinterested, distracted employee — who was on her phone — what was going on. After returning to my room it took me forever to go bark to sleep (especially after going down 14 flights of stairs) wasn’t until my checkout that the alarm went off because off a smoke machine at a holiday party.
It’s so unfortunate that an establishment with the Westin name has such inadequate procedures, systems, and equipment emplaced that in a real emergency it may not be ready.

If you want to use the Internet at the hotel during your stay, find another hotel as it is impossible to connect here.

I keep these poorly made office chairs in my room. Other than that, the rooms are nice!

Disgusting and really tired hotel. I can’t believe that Westin continues to allow their brand on this place. Some examples: caulk on sink looks like it was done by 5 year old. No plugs near bed. Bed spread was dirty. Gym ceiling is peeling and there was a huge cockroach next to the water filter (see photo).

It’s okay. I would opt to stay downtown unless you have business closer to the hotel like we did. Dallas is pretty spread out and this hotel is located north of all the action. It’s okay because you can Über everywhere and though Über service depends heavily on the region, the experience in Dallas is impeccable. I don’t recommend using the hotel’s driving service. My boyfriend used it and the driver not only got lost but professed to hating driving. Not a big deal, they got there in the end, but with Über an option I don’t see why you’d bother.
The hotel itself is alright. The lobby is nice but the rooms are incredibly outdated, even the junior suites. The furniture looked clean enough but the bathrooms were a bit janky. There was a safety handlebar in the shower that, frankly, got in the way and there was a funky smell near the toilet. It wasn’t a bathroom smell, it was a sort of greasy musty smell like an old armchair that had been collecting hair grease for a decade. Very unpleasant but fortunately we didn’t spend a lot of time in the bathroom.
The WiFi apparently gets a lot of complaints. During our five night stay they said they were changing equipment or providers and that picking a room toward the center of the hotel would be better. Well, we had a room at the far end of our floor and I experienced no issues with the connectivity. I watched Netflix uninterrupted every night. Also, there were no credentials or even room number required for connecting to the WiFi during our stay.
The breakfast buffet was disappointing. I tried the usual scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes and french toast the first day but opted for a bowl of fruit and an English muffin ever after. Very uninspiring. I decided to give the hotel a second chance by ordering room service one night. We ordered two of the brownies with vanilla ice cream and the brownies were pretty good — nothing spectacular — but one of the brownies was markedly smaller! It was a corner piece and they had tried to use the chocolate spread to make it look bigger than it was but it was clearly ²⁄₃ the side of the other. Pretty crappy presentation and service in my opinion, especially considering the price. Good thing my boyfriend is so generous because I take my dessert seriously!
All in all, I would not stay here unless your office is within walking distance.

I’m not sure how this is a Weston property. Hotel is in major need of updating. Sheets and towels are not clean or crisp. My bed is less than heavenly. Not impressed.

I am greatly impressed with the banquet services here. I was invited to a very formal dinner here. The meal this evening was chicken with rice, and vegetables covered with a sauce. I informed the server that I needed a gluten free plate and she immediately got me a plate that complied with my dietary needs. The food was delicious and their dessert was incredible. They had a dark chocolate pot de crème covered in chocolate ganache. It was so thick and rich I could only eat a few bites, the server very graciously wrapped it up for me and since there was another untouched dessert on the table I grabbed it and have enjoyed them little bites at a time.

This is my 2^nd time staying at the Westin DPC and I will NEVER stay here again. My first stay was ok, but the 2^nd was horrific. I stayed for 3 days, linens were never changed. Upon shifting sheets, I noticed stains. I witnessed a cleaner cleaning our cups with our wash cloths. I had breakfast one day and it was not worth the $ 20 they charge. The sausage was hard, the eggs watery. The only edible portion were the pastries. The biggest issue i had was that my roommates and I were totally overcharged. Because we paid at separate times, they charges us well over $ 100 over the cost of the room. I can not get anyone on the phone or anyone to all me back. This is not acceptable when you pay $ 140 a night. The Ramada across the street started at $ 60 a night and included breakfast.

How this hotel is able to fly the Westin flag is beyond me! The carpet is in desperate need of replacing, as is anything that is upholstered. Everything fabric was dirty or frayed.
We hosted a meeting and the space was dark and dingy, the escalator was broken and all the carpets were filthy.
The type of place where you keep your socks on. In need of a desperate deep clean, paint, carpet, soft-​goods refresh and general update!
The Staff here is really really nice and found all the events/​meeting room team members great, if the property were updated this would be a good hotel, as-​is I can’t recommend it. Westin Dallas Park Central — you have great people on your team — the property should reflect that!

but be aware that parking is not included. I appreciate that the elevators require a room key to operate. Its just an extra safety precaution. The room was comfortable and quiet. The air conditioning didnt properly cool the room at night but we were compensated at check out. No refrigerator which was a total bummer and the bottle of water on the chest was $ 3.50. Ouch.

Even though I paid 50 dollars more than the original reservation for the two days we stayed there

I feel like I’ve stayed at a completely different hotel than the other reviewers. This hotel is fantastic. Let me reiterate, IT IS FANTASTIC.
We had a wonderful experience, the staff was great, the room was clean and very nicely appointed, the bed was absolutely wonderful, parking was easy, and we felt welcomed. We did not use the pool or gym so we can not rate those amenities.

I’m a fan of Starwood hotels, and have almost always had good experiences. My visit to the Westin Dallas Park Central was okay, but not a great experience.
The staff was all very attentive — especially the valet guys totally awesome crew there. I opted for valet parking, even though it was $ 24 a day, because self parking was outrageous at $ 13 a day. Really Westin? If I was in New York or San Francisco I might expect to pay that, but on the fringes of Dallas that’s ridiculous. I knew I was going to be in and out a lot so it just made sense to pay a few dollars more for the valet parking. And they were a good group of guys who were very attentive and took care of me, so it worked out.
The room was a good size, neat and clean, but like the rest of the hotel it seemed a little dated. I think it’s time for a little remodeling there. The bed was comfortable, but the television was small for the room size. In fact, it was tiny and I was disappointed with the setup. It was probably the smallest television I’ve had in a hotel in years — even Holiday Inn has bigger sets.
While staying there I talked to another guest — a real road warrior sales person — who told me she used Priceline and got her room for $ 35 cheaper than what I got mine for through Starwoood’s Preferred Guest program. I feel a little taken advantage of there Starwood. Like me, she was commuting to the area of the Dallas Market Center and found that the Westin was a less-​expensive but still quality hotel than something comparable but closer to the market center.
The fitness center was about average for what you find in a Starwood hotel, and the pool area was neat and clean and taken care of.
I didn’t eat there, but did have cocktails in the bar. Friendly staff, but the bartender was limited on cocktails but it turned out okay.
Given that I think the hotels closer to the DMC are unreasonably priced for what you get, I like this hotel as a close-​by option. Still, it’s a little dated and wasn’t equal to what I’ve come to expect from the brand. If you get a room on Priceline though it’s a good deal.

This Westin has come in for a bit of criticism lately. Hotwire has a had a number of screaming deals ($ 70/​night), so the hotel is getting a lot of traffic. The rooms are a tiny bit dated, but still very nice.
Your mileage may vary, but our room was clean and well appointed. We had a nice stay and the staff was very attentive.
No complaints here.

This couldn’t possibly be a Westin property by Starwood! Arrived early so I wasn’t surprised a room wasn’t ready at 10am but the front desk rep offered no further advice than to «check back around 1.» I expected him to extend a hand and explain where I could have a comfortable wait… The lounge, restaurant, fitness center, pool, SOME HOSPITALITY. Anywho, the valet guy Johnnie must’ve felt bad and offered me water while I waited. He also gave great details about the complex and ideas on where I could venture off until a room was ready. Thank God for Johnnie!
Very dated décor, pretty shabby in my opinion. The pool is nice but small. Fitness center has plenty of cardio machines, free weights & machines necessary for a good workout away from home. Room was clean but similar to something more like a Holiday Inn Express. The linen was the best thing going, I’m guessing 800 thread count. The drapes were hideous, no in-​room free Wi-​Fi, no desk charging docks or outlets, no refrigerator (when I called to request one I was told they didn’t have any more available)
I’m ready to check-​out and I’ve only been here 6 hours. Don’t stay here I wouldn’t want to see you disappointed.

Westin’s have typically been my hotel of choice because they’re clean, smell nice, look nice, and feel comfortable.
This Westin is NOT one of the good Westin’s. Here’s why.
1. Urine on the toilet seat upon check in
2. Housekeeping came to disinfect the toilet and put the same rag that wiped the toilet on the counter top next to my tooth brush.
3. The makeup mirror was installed 6 feet off the ground (and no it doesn’t adjust down). So it was above my head. Now average height women can’t use the make up mirror. Oh. and this was a handicap accessible room…
4. The TV is also 6 feet off the ground. Again, this is a handicap accessible room.
5. Scary brown stains on the ceiling
6. This is a big one — NO ELECTRICAL OUTLETS! They have a hair dryer in the bathroom but no outlets anywhere in the bathroom. In the bedroom there are no outlets on nor next to the bedside. There were only two — through a lamp on the desk.
7. Showers are luke warm.
8. Overall design of the rooms is dated and gross.
9. Pet fee is $ 50 non-​refundable. Other Westin’s welcome pets free.
10. My one pro — best price in town.
Don’t stay here, but if you do then bring some disinfectant wipes and don’t use housekeeping.
