I went in to get some groceries and I went in for the restroom, I can’t describe how filthy it was. The toilets had poop on the lower side, the toilet covers had drips of urine… I don’t think I can trust them handling my groceries if they can’t handle a restroom…

We’ve lived in The Village for 8 years and have used this Tom Thumb for the majority of our grocery needs in that time. I feel like sadly the quality has declined quite a bit in recent years. We tend to shop very early on Sunday mornings, which used to mean fully stocked produce and meats in anticipation of the Sunday shopping crowds that come flooding in after church. However, produce is now hit-or-miss(more often that not, it’s a miss), with partially stocked or empty bins. Meats are generally expiring that day or the day after, which makes grocery shopping for the week quite hard when you have a small apartment freezer. Pricing on some items can be quite high, but they do have some pretty good reward card deals and store coupons through their justforu app. I’ve noticed on several trips that there are expired refrigerated products still stocked on the shelves(last two visits there have been many items with March expiration dates at the front of the shelves… yikes). My other issue here is the pharmacy. We made the change from Target to Tom Thumb a year or two ago, but we’ve had so many issues recently that we’re changing to another pharmacy again. Neither my husband nor myself get calls anymore when prescriptions are ready. I dropped off a script last week. I called and left my insurance information a day or two later when I realized I hadn’t updated it. Never heard anything for another 5 days, and when I called them to inquire if my Rx was ready, I was told they were just waiting on my insurance information… you know, the information I had provided them 5 days before. They never picked up the phone to call me and ask for the information, never informed me the prescription was ready(apparently it had been ready for a week, who knew?), and didn’t apologize for any of the inconvenience. Done. Overall, this store is extremely convenient if you live in The Village, and I don’t mind running in here for random items. However, if you are looking for a store that can provide high quality fresh items and is reliably stocked for the busiest shopping day of the week, this is not it.

I went to tom thumb off lovers lane and greenville ave. My dad likes to send my money for my birthday. I so go to pick it up around 7:45am but find out the customer service isn’t open until 8am, I see the person working behind a weak two way mirror and she sees me.. so I wait. as 8 am rolls around another custom comes to make an exchange. The lady immediately goes to help the other lady. so I say, um excuse me I was here first. so the customer service lady looks at me and said .I’m not even supposed to be here.(like, what is this clerks? But anyway) she perceives unwilling me help me, not saying one word until her robotic«thank you, have a day» fell out her mouth. now maybe she had a rough time 5mins before I showed up. maybe her dog died. or maybe ‚.just maybe she had hate in her heart and she let it out. I don’t care to find out. I’m NATIVEAMERICAN and WELSH so I look like your typical black guy and she did not like it. so I just won’t go back there after my workouts anymore

Nice and clean store with very organized shelves and friendly staff. I can always find what I’m looking for whether it’s a quick run in and out or leisure grocery shopping trip. The baked goods always look fresh and yummy. An their floral section is always gorgeous.

I couldn’t find anything for the Starbucks. This is for my coffee. Any starbucks I go to my coffee is almost always messed up with a lack of carmal. The young lady working today(Sylvia) made my drink to perfection! The last time my coffee was made right was in Washington. I also forget my cask back until I reached my car. I walked back and she was already outside looking for me. If I lived in dallas this would be my regular coffee stop. I am so happy with my coffee and her service. Thank you Sylvia!

Store always had everything I need but the bakery especially is the best! Chris made this cake for my daughter’s 7th birthday this weekend and we were blown away with how amazing it looked! Thank you again for a fantastic job!

Safe and open 24 hours and at times cheaper than Wal-Mart with the rewards. Usse there App you can sometimes always walk away with free stuff, like good stuff. They also have a real nice beer selection at an affordable price. The gas points are awesome when you can get 3 points collected you save .30 off a gallon. There’s this one old guy who bags your groceries always rude in a bad mood but they keep him around not sure why, maybe it’s a mental thing I hope cause next time he’s rude to my fiancé I might deck him. Other than him staff is great very helpful.

A nice, clean, spacious, and well-stocked store in general. The produce selection is actually pretty good, though of course not to Central Market’s standards(which is across the street, by the way). Then again, that’s not the niche that Tom Thumb is in, is it? They do a good job of being a standard grocery store. I had a little hard time finding things, but I had always been a Kroger shopper until I moved here. I find the Krogers down here aren’t as good as where I used to live. Anyway, this store delivers on that mid-range, but overall nice, grocery store if you don’t want to head to Central Market. My thing is their layout is quite strange, and I found myself going down aisles several times until I found what I was looking for. Also, they don’t carry 2 of the main items that are my weakness and keep me coming to a place that isn’t Central Market: Nestea Decaffeinated instant tea mix and Totino’s Triple Pepperoni pizza rolls. I have a weakness, and I’m not proud of it, but this store does not carry either item! Really? With all their vast selection elsewhere, you couldn’t carry these two items that *every*other*store* carries?

This is one of my favorite grocery stores. It’s easy to get in and out quickly(although the parking lot can be a little difficult with people coming in and out for gas). They have great discounts on wine and beer and the selection is great. Oftentimes, there’s a beer/wine expert manning the table at the front of the aisle to answer any questions and offer tastings. The produce department is well-stocked with lots of organic and traditionally-grown items.

I shop here weekly because Central Market toilet paper sucks. I have two things: Why do they not have more of the small carts that are always in use? Why do they use the least Interested or least capable checkers at the self service area? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of having one checker and four customers? Just s

If it were possible to rate this pharmacy less than one star, I would. I’ve been coming here for for six months, only because I hope for the added convenience of getting my prescriptions on the same stop as my grocery store. Everyone who works in this pharmacy is so slow, incompetent, and devoid of empathy, every single time I go. It’s so bad that I’m going to find a new place to get my groceries. Even if it’s out of the way and twice as expensive.

The store itself is just fine, but I’d like to see more organic produce. Love the gas prices with Tom Thumb Reward Points, but good grief the gas lines are crazy.

It’s a grocery store, its not going to blow your mind. But, its clean, the people are nice and its super close. I like it. If you are looking for a «fancy» place with organic stuff, not really the place, but if you want a nice big supermarket that is clean, this is your place!

Overpriced like you wouldn’t believe. Just go across the street to Central Market for better prices(I KNOW, right?). Just because it’s clean doesn’t mean it’s worth it. Everything costs like 20% more.

I hate this store more than I’ve every hated any store. Not only is it overpriced but checking out is pure hell. There are never any checkers. In the self-service checkout, for some reason it’s custom for these idiots to line up down the pasta aisle waiting for the next of the 4 self-service checkouts to open instead of making 2 separate lines for each pair. Tonight, in the self-service checkout a heavy, sweaty man wearing earbuds who was clearly late for was clearly late for his D&D meeting blocked off any hope for separate lines. He finally secured a checkout and went on tossing his items through like Supermarket Sweep. Upon scanning his last item, some sort of produce, he punched in the wrong item number, yelled out frantically, and stormed away, leaving all his would-be purchases behind and us with a checkout that was now clogged up with his stuff. As we examined it, a pair of douchbags, whom I assume were frat boys judging by their matching kakhis and polo shirts, shoved past us to the next available checkout. We probably waited 10 minutes for the two teenage girls who were manning the checkouts to figure out how to clear the items. In short, we vowed, once again, to never return to Tom Thumb

It’s a grocery store. If you live in the Village apartments nearby it’s super handy for when… You need milk or food of just about any kind. Or if you forgot it’s Valentine’s day and need to get some flowers and a card real quick. Or your girlfriend is sick and needs Pepto Bismol right away. Or you read on the internet that silymarin is good for your liver and you’re thinking it might be a good idea to stock up on that supplement because you drink a lot. Or when you feel like a different breakfast cereal that morning. Or when you just feel like getting a frozen pizza and sitting forever alone style at your keyboard. Yeah. It’s a handy place.

Tom Thumb broke my heart today. I have been a regular customer of this location for 9 years. I’ve never complained about milk sold after its expiration date, apples with bruises and gashes, bread that had mold, shopping carts that don’t push right, flowers that die over night, cashiers that don’t properly ring up items, etc… Over the years, I’ve donated money on several occasions to their prostate awareness(arghh…the irony!), breast cancer awareness, Special Olympics, Girl Scout Cookies, etc. If Tom Thumb had a cause, I was humble(but consistent) donor to all of their non-profit causes. However, today for the first time… I have a cause of my very own. My neighborhood has adopted our local Dallas/Fire Rescue Station. For guys and girls that put their lives on the line everyday, they sure do go back and sleep on dirty mattresses, stained carpet, warping ceiling tiles, mini blinds that are broke(try sleeping in the day after a busy night), broken stove tops, etc. The list goes on(I’m going to post pictures!!!). Anyhow, Dallas in a budget crisis therefore, I am helping raise funds to improve the living conditions of our local firehouse. Therefore, I thought our neighborhood Tom Thumb would jump at the opportunity to help support our cause and help improve the living conditions of men and women who protect our lives and homes so we can shop at Tom Thumb on Sundays. Here’s a summary of what happened when I asked to speak to the Store Director, Scott Lane. I was told Mr Lane is out of town until Monday and a Mr. Lee Roberts(the Assistant Director) is his cover while he was gone. I asked the front service desk if I could speak with him.(from his tinted window perch on the 2nd floor, I could see him eating a sandwich). He told the customer service woman that he was unavailable to speak with me and they couldn’t help anybody until October!!! I thanked the customer service woman for her time and gave Tom Thumb girl selling hot dogs for«prostate screening awareness» $ 2 and asked her to give the hot dogs to the next kids that walk in the door…

This is pretty good for a Tom Thumb. I feel like they’ve classed up the place to keep up with Central Market across the street, but they’re still just an upscale Tom Thumb. It’s nicer than a regular Tom Thumb, but it’s impossible to find anyone working here to help you, aside from the cashiers. Also, they’ve put up a really fancy bulk foods section with nuts and dried food and those types of things, similar to what you’d find at Whole Foods. The main difference is that their bulk food bins have worms in them. We found a big fat worm wiggling around in our granola. Disgusting! So why am I giving Tom Thumb three stars after all these complaints? Well, it’s the most conveniently located grocery store to my apartment, and the prices are better than Central Market. I now know never to buy their bulk foods, so I think it’ll be smooth sailing from here on out. I’ll be back.
