For the apartment, I haven’t moved in, but I loved the tour and was super impressed with the upkeep of the property. The only con was that we couldn’t see our specific unit so during the tour they were like«so this and that would be different». So just furniture wise it was a little difficult to imagine, but they do have a tool on their site for that. My dad owned a real estate company so I totally get why it wasn’t possible to show us our unit. But ideally, you would want to see exactly where you are living before you pay for it. As applying/etc…I had so much difficulty, and I am so glad to finally sign my lease today. I just graduated from college out of state and am relocating to Dallas, and JUST started looking for a job(AKA no income, but my own personal savings). I understand the proof of income. etc as like I said my dad owned a real estate company & I’ve lived in apartments before. But my mom travels a lot for her job and they needed the proof while she was out of town and while I was leaving for a graduation trip the next day. The stress of making sure my unit didn’t go back on the market and all the pressure was not an enjoyable experience for me or my family. I just felt as if they started to look down on me as a young resident and if I was older I would have been treated differently. I’ve worked as a waitress or in retail ever since I was old enough to have a job and I’ve always treated people so kind no matter how ridiculous or complicated their situations were(aka overnighted a dress with my own money for a customer). I just didn’t feel that same respect as a future resident. I’m a hard worker, have a savings and have never paid rent late… but I do know business is business. I just felt a few extra smiles could have made the process a little less stressful. I know my situation was unique, and not everyone will go through this so I am not using this against my review… but just some info for anyone in my same transitional stage, be prepared. But overall, the property is SO beautiful. Also, it SMELLSWONDERFUL. You just feel happy when you walk in. And the location is wonderful. What drew me to it is it seems a little more«mature» than the typical uptown properties. My step dad works with a 30 year old that lives here as well, so I liked that it didn’t seem like a frat house like some of the other uptown area options.

PROs: Beautiful, luxurious apartments. Very fun neighborhood with many great restaurants and bars. Incredibly responsive maintenance staff. CONs: Noise– the walls and ceilings seem like they’re paper thin. You will often hear your neighbors and they will often hear you. I heard my upstairs neighbors simply walking around and I heard them when they flushed the toilet. Dust– I don’t know if it’s because the building is close to several major roads or what, but I’ve never waged a bigger battle against dust than in this apartment.

Heeeeeeeeeeeelp! I’ve been stuck here all week, in-prisoned in my friends’ apartment! Seriously, I can’t leave. This place is like Fort Knox. You can’t get in and you can’t get out without scanning your eye over the laser thing at the door. Okay not really, but you do need a remote control clicker and keys. Fine, be difficult! I’ve been staying at my two friends’ apartment while I finalize my lease, and let’s just say the security is a bit tough here. That I would say is a good thing. The building is huge with all of the normal luxury amenities like a pool, gym, clubhouse, cyber café and free coffee bar. According to some guy friends, «there are some hot chicks at that pool.» Thanks for the input, guys. It’s very close to anything you would want in Uptown, and my friends are pretty happy with the management. One of the bathrooms is the size of my old bedroom in Manhattan. No joke. You could have a dance party in the bath tub. UYE anyone? Kidding. Kidding. My friends have a two bedroom with carpet, but apparently you can opt for two story lofts with hardwood too. Whoa, talk about high class. ;) So if Uptown is your kind of thing and you aren’t quite ready to buy a house, I’d definitely check out the Trianon.
