Uptown Sound

Jay was the DJ for Uptown sound at our daughter’s wedding. He did a fantastic job.
Most of our friends said it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to.
Jay played the perfect mix of music for young and old. He made the party!

We first heard Aaron perform at one of our good friends weddings. We had a blast and loved every song that he played. We knew we had to hire him for ours and he did not disappoint! My husband and I met with Aaron multiple times before the wedding. He wanted to get to know us as a couple and find out the music that we listen to. Music and dancing are everything to my husband. Aaron played every song that we requested and added his flare into it. I cannot rave enough about how much fun our wedding guests had dancing. They basically had to be pulled off the dance floor toward the end. Aaron also was able to make announcements for us during the wedding and commented on certain songs that we had requested for individual friends and family. He is very thorough and even provided us with a list of all of the songs played at our wedding afterwards. I would definitely recommend Aaron for any special occasion!

Aaron from Uptown Sound is a total pro. He keeps everything moving along according to plan with his microphone and his music. If you are looking for a DJ that will take charge of the flow of the evening from beginning to end without ever making it about himself by getting corny or jokey — Aaron is your guy. He said what needed to be said no more, no less. And had a great sense for the music the room was looking for in the moment. At the end of the night people were just saying that they had fun in general without even knowing they were complementing Aaron — which is exactly what we wanted.

We recently had Mason DJ and do the up-​lighting at our wedding. We met with Mason a few times before the wedding to sort out the details and give him our song choices. He was calm and professional and really made us feel at ease. Aaron edited our songs down seamlessly. I think we had the greatest dance party of all time. Our guests stayed on the dance floor till the very last song.
Last minute we wanted to hire a videographer and Aaron worked with us to find someone two days before the wedding. He also helped us to design a custom package to fit our needs.

Aaron went above and beyond for our wedding. We had a flawless and fantastic experience working with him from the moment I sent an inquiry to the last song that was played at our wedding — and even working with Aaron on events after our wedding. I would hands down recommend him for any lighting and/​or sound needs for ANY type of an event. We could not have picked a better lighting and sound person for our wedding.
He was prompt to respond to our initial request for lighting and sound. I gave him a relative outline of what we were looking for, and then we met at our wedding and reception venue. My husband and I were one of the first weddings at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Aaron met my Matron of Honor and myself at the museum one afternoon. He brought a sample uplight to show us how the color would look on the walls for both the ceremony and reception. The uplights he uses are LED, so they don’t get hot like the can lights, and he can create virtually any color. He walked my MOH and I through what information he would need in terms of music, and gave suggestions on lighting and reception set up. He was incredibly helpful.
After meeting at the museum, he sent us a very reasonably priced quote. We were definitely on board for booking him right away.
Closer to the wedding, Aaron sent us a sample timeline for the ceremony and reception. It wasn’t until I got the timeline and playlist samples that I realized just how much thought had to go in to every minute of our wedding. My husband and I were a little overwhelmed, and Aaron requested we meet up or Skype to work out the details. We asked if we could Skype in the evening, and Aaron was completely fine with that. We ended up Skype-​ing the week before our wedding at 8 o’clock at night for about an hour and a half. Aaron helped us put together every minute of our pre-​ceremony music, ceremony and reception. It was so helpful, and relieved a lot of stress.
Aaron also cut songs for our first dance and father-​daughter dance songs. It was definitely nice not having to be dancing in front of everyone for three and a half to four minutes for an entire song.
The amount of people Aaron got on the dance floor for our ENTIRE reception was amazing. Family and friends I never imagined I would see boogieing on the dance floor were having the time of their lives! It was great. It also made for some incredible pictures.
The lighting at both the ceremony and reception was beautiful. That alongside the flowers made for a breathtaking room for each part of the wedding. It was an amazing transformation. The pin spots he provided for the cake were great, too.
In addition to being the vendor for our wedding, Aaron has graciously provided some lighting and sound for events I put on for a local non-​profit organization. He is always willing to help, and is still great to work with.
All-​in-​all, you won’t find a better lighting and sound vendor in Dallas than Aaron. Book him… NOW!
