Virgin America

As much as I like this airline, I had a really negative experience the last time I flew. I was psyched to get main cabin select seats but when I got on the airplane the videos were not working. The video is one of the only reasons I take Virgin and it was really upsetting that the video was not working. I paid a lot of extra money for good seats.

I used to be an avid Virgin America customer but the last 2 months my experiences with them have been awful. Every aspect has been bad. Online, their website is not working and allowing me to make reservations. When I called they told me that if I «use google chrome it will work better» and «yes, they have heard Mac users are having problems» and my question is, «why don’t you fix it??» Call center representatives made huge error for my flight change, which was to fly a day later than I booked. I paid a change fee and they booked me on the same day, exact same flight– not the next day! I had to call and undo that mess which took an hour and by then they only had first class seats left, and I had to pay for that upgrade! Unbelievable. Now I am sitting at the gate waiting for my flight which is 2.5 hours late because someone didn’t put enough fuel in our arriving plane? Wth??? They had to turn around and refuel? No notification ahead of time, which would have been to nice. Now I get a 4 hour wait in the airport! Get your act together Alaskan/​Virgin America! Sir Richard Branson sold out and now this airline stinks.

Virgin America is bad ass!
We flew from Dallas to LAX in November 2015. Plenty of leg room, nice seats, clean, beautiful lit up interiors, great flight attendants, TV’s on the back of every seat. You can order food, drinks or headphones. Also you can track where your plane is on the map! Just felt a step up from any airlines I have used. Will be looking forward to flying with them again.

Tvs in every seat. Remotes to message and interact with the touch screen that is the TV. Fun pretty flight video. More than comfortable seats than most airlines. A grateful example in which most planes should be like.

OMG ! That was the best flight I have ever had since Polish Lot. I will always, going forward for the rest of my life… fly VA… NO MORE LUFTHANSA!

Flew from Lovefield to LAX and there were some issues however at the terminal Joe and Jermaine really helped me out! They were super cool and really did there best to get me home with great ease! always good to have customer service like that!

Outstanding service pure outstanding! Gate check in crew super sweet and caring! No line, no problems. Very knowledgeable. Love the music. I told them about my child’s major nut allergy they called down to the gate to let them know we were coming and they provide us great information. The check in guy name was Cody. Super nice and sweet. Keep him around Virgin. Gate crew also super sweet and caring. They came and got my stroller, tagged it and took it down for me. I don’t know the girl’s name but very sweet and personable. The whole Virgin world is so sweet and caring. Thanks for telling the whole plane a child with a nut allergy is on board and not taking us off the plane like AA did or making us feel weird like AA did when they wanted a doctors note. Thanks Virgin for being great!

Day 3 no luggage from Virgin Airlines… No updates, no calls, no e-​mails, no luggage delivered to our Hotel.
Back at the Laguardia for our return flight & at the same place/​desk where we filed our original claim.
Here are direct quotes from the ticket agents & their customer support agents…
” We’ve been calling Dallas every day & they either put us on hold, hang up or won’t call us back” as the ticket agent goes back to assisting other customers in line
«I don’t have access to the baggage tracking system, I’m not in baggage claim» — ticket agent at Laguardia
«Have you called Dallas?» — customer support agent via their 800 number
«Yeah Dallas is on their own & a mess» — Laguardia ticket agent
I have purposely omitted my responses to all of the above.
Obviously to be considered a major airline you should have some type of formalized process for locating lost luggage, communicating to customers the status & having other locations communicate to their own employees but what should I expect from an airline that has no major hubs, no mobile app, no automated way to check the status of lost baggage & a handful of planes that fly to only a few destinations… You would think that some of that would work in Your favor when trying to locate someone’s luggage.
Directing customers to call other locations & search on their own behalf is also an absurd response when their own employees can’t get through to anyone…
What a pathetic series of events from a pathetic airline… Do yourself a favor a never fly this airline.
Virgin America sucks…

I am usually a fan of flying Virgin, but my latest flight left a sour taste in my mouth. My row was full and the row behind me (an exit row) was empty on my side. After the flight attendant gave instructions to the folks in the exit row indicating how they could assist in case of an emergency, I jokingly suggested that I’d be happy to sit in the exit row if she’d give the speech again. The flight attendant said she’d be happy to figure out the price difference for the exit row seat and charge me so I could move. I noted that no one was sitting there, and she rudely informed me that she was aware of that and that it was still an upgrade which required extra cost.
I don’t know what kind of business Virgin Airlines is trying to run, but I’ve never had a flight attendant from any other airline tell me that I couldn’t sit in an unoccupied seat without paying extra money (excepting business class, first class, etc.). It’s really foolish to forfeit positive customer experience for the sake of a few extra dollars. Shame on you, Virgin Airlines.

Great terminal. Very reminiscent of SFO. All nice and remodeled with style. Some great food selections but not a ton of variety. Would love a texas style farmers market…(heads up whole foods-​texas is ur birthplace) and would love a yoga room and spa vendor but hey, we can’t all be innovative SF! So Im a bit spoiled but all that said, seriously this is a great terminal and well worth it to fly VA… if just for the terminal experience alone.

We’ve used them for some time now so I think this and jet blue have become our preferred jetline. The seats are nice, planes are nice, staff is nice too. They offered my lil ones to see the cockpit but they were to shy, what the heck, they should of asked me… Oh well. Pilot got us there safely in turbulent weather.

Just a great airlines that has newer planes, great sense of humor, great seats, great entertainment, and the wonderful Main cabin select… aka all the booze you can use… and boy do they.

I was really worried abt my upcoming flight to Tailand (27 hours all together). My flight was at 7:50 am, so i came to the airport 2 hours prior and couldn’t get my tickets from kiosk, so I went to the check-​in desk and there was a guy named Cody, sooooo sweet and charming! He melted my heart with his smile and made me think that my trip is the beginning of an amazing adventure) Thank you, Cody you are so adorable!

I’ve been enjoying flying Virgin for the past six years so when my wife began working in Dallas, the DAL Love Field-​LGA Laguardia leg became very popular for us. Generally, I find Virgin America stewards, staffers and pilots to be pleasant and their flights leave and arrive promptly more than 90% of the time.
Their inflight television system is the best in the airline industry, allowing passengers to order food, select movies, play video games or watch satellite television from the comfort of your own seat. And their safety video is so catchy and awesome that your kids will be watching it on YouTube months later. Like TV choices, food choices are outstanding — everything from Kid’s Meals to Healthy Snacks and Turkey Wraps.
Once in a blood moon, you leave something behind on a flight and don’t remember until you’re already home or back at the hotel. This recently happened to me when my son left his iPad in the back of the seat holder after a late night flight into Love Field. With my son in hysterics (combined guilt and exhaustion) I called the airline and spoke with a wonderful employee in the baggage department named Chad Strickland.
Chad assured me that the plane would be thoroughly cleaned and that any items found would be turned in. Sensing my fear that the plane would leave the following morning with my son’s iPad, he told me he would personally call the cleanup supervisor and get back to me. About 30 minutes later, at close to midnight on a Sunday night, Chad called me from his cellphone to tell me that he was holding my son’s iPad and that I could come by and pick it up.
I raced back to the airport and Chad gave me directions on where to find him. He personally greeted me by the baggage claim area and handed over my son’s beloved iPad.
In this era of Pass-​the-​Buck employee responsibility, I found Chad’s ownership of the search to be both refreshing and rewarding. As a longtime Virgin America patron, this experience reinforced my loyalty to a brand that understands the value of customer service.
Thanks Virgin America.

If you have an aisle seat near the front of the aircraft, chances are you’ll be boarding with group D & E. There is limited overhead compartment space. The outlet under my seat didn’t work however it did for the other passengers.
No snacks were given out however they were liberal with the beverages. Want two bottles of water? No problem. I do like how there are 3 lavatories. The calming purple lighting also made the ride pleasant. Overall good experience. I still prefer JetBlue and their unlimited snacks and beverages.

Virgin was so awesome in helping find some lost items… Patricia in the baggage claim office was wonderful and helped me avoid a disaster! Love Virgin from check in to destination arrival and all the behind the scenes players that truly make a difference!

I’m super excited that Virgin is flying from ABIA! This is a wonderful new option. I love Southwest but Virgin really out shined them.

Their on air GOGOINFLIGHT WIFI which is better than all the internet connections on earth. My flight from Los Angeles to Austin is an amazing experience as always on Virgin America. Too bad I have to take an other carrier from Austin to DFW.(I parked my car at DFW Airport when departed and Virgin only flys to Dallas Lovefield now).The other international flight which I was on before this flight was a D Bag. But Virgin America knows how to be a super on air comparing to other airlines. It’s the small things they take care of… There is a big strong piece of metal that extends and supports a spacious tray table that can comfortably house both a laptop (large size Macbook) and a tray of food. Their monitor which has enough live programming and on-​demand options to kill hours. To supplement the traditional and super after-​takeoff cocktail service, they have the best air dining experience in first class as well, we are talking real food — the best I have had on first class domestically. They even had Glenlivet 12 year old Scotch, which is rare to even find on an international business class flights. I have had no problem stating that always have a wonderful experience flying with Virgin America. The flight was very clean and was on time. The staff were fun and friendly. I would definitely fly with them again and again and again.

Hands down the best airline I have ever been on. The seats are bigger and more comfortable. Checking in was easy and hassle free. With a trendy safety video you can’t help but watch, free inflight entertainment, and simple and easy beverage service, unless you can always afford first class, Virgin is absolutely the way to go. Not to mention the tix were super cheap!

I’ve been flying with Virgin America for many years. I’ve never had a bad experience with them. Their planes are cleaner than other «budget» airlines (like Southwest or JetBlue). The staff is always friendly and helpful. Everyone always seems like they love their job. The staff from Dallas seems to be nicer than the ones in other cities.
I was excited when they started flying to Dallas. They also have one of the best frequent flier programs. The price, cleanliness, service has earned my loyalty. On my last few flights going from Dallas to SFO, I’ve had the row to myself.

Useless worst experience of my life… traveling back to Los Angeles with my wife and two children, checked in online and got to the counter to check in my bags and the lady told me I’m passed my check in time because I was not early enough to come check in my bags…(which her supr said was 6 mins late) to top it all she said I will have to wait for another flight. A middle age white guy that came 20 minutes after me with two big bags along with his young daughter and was allowed to get on the flight. HELLO… I believe I was treated differently and virgin did not value my business. My children were surprised to see the guy and his daughter get on the plane while we were told we couldn’t get in. Mind you, we checked in our bags online 24hrs prior. When my kids pointed out the little girl getting on the flight «when she arrived later than we did» I decided to ask the lady at the boarding gate, why the man could get on the flight and we could not, her immediate response was «he has a kid» Hello I have 2 young kids, hmmmmmm… And no response. WOW!!!
I will tell everybody I know never to fly anything virgin again, based on how My family was treated. Based on my on opinion ‘virgin America at Dallas airport treat people differently’ It’s a shame that in this 21^st century we could be treated as a second class customer. What a shame. The supervisor later came and said they admitted their mistake and they were wrong… Mind you this is after much yelling! We were given $ 32 voucher for lunch. 32 dollars is not even close to what I have to lose not getting on the flight. WHAT A SHAME ON THE AIRLINE! My children had to experience this shameful attitude from Virgin America.

Coolest. Safety presentation. Ever.
Virgin’s plane is like a club in the air. LED lighting, modern uniforms, white leather recliners in first class.
I also loved that I could order my drink from my seat! Supa cool… the attendants didn’t have to come by and ask everyone what they would like… why don’t all airlines do this? It is sooo 2014.
I loved flying Virgin… we always fly American because of my husband’s frequent flyer miles, but whenever I get the chance… I will be booking with Virgin.

You guys rock. Superb checkin and friendly staff even at 7am. Just please talk to DAL and fix the priority line and ask them to double up on the coffee shops in the terminal.

–no free snacks on board, only free soda
–sometimes the soda took awhile to be delivered
Traveling by airplane is not fun, in general. Well, using Virgin makes it at least tolerable. They have all the perks listed above, but most of all, I just get the feeling that they are trying to do everything to make it more comfortable for the customer. Basically, it’s just a better airline than say some of the other larger carriers. They focus on little details like the chargers on the seats and the cool video for safety features. The blue light in the cabin is a nice touch too.
Bottom line:
I would pay extra to fly Virgin Airlines. This location was also great. Customer service is so important for airline carriers and it was great here.

There is a lot to like about Virgin America, not the least of these things being that they now fly out of Love! They are one of the new kids on the block, not only at Love, but also in the industry, only having formed in Summer 2007. Their mission? To make flying good again. Here is how they are doing it… mood-​lit cabins, WiFi, leather seats, pore outlets for all (not just those in first –class), touchscreen video with entertainment at every seat, and on-​demand menus for both food and entertainment. Add to those things, 6 extra inches of legroom (yes it makes a difference) and a friendly flight crew and you are onto something. Sad that the industry has got to a point where these things are big deals, but we cannot change history, so yes, these are big deals!
Speaking of big deals, check out and compare Virgin’s fares… I am pretty sure you will be impressed.

I’ve had an amazing experience with Virgin so far and I haven’t even boarded the plane yet. I had some luggage stole out of a rental car and was informing the ticket agent because I prepaid for checked bags. She was very empathetic and sincere in her apology even though it wasn’t her fault. When I arrived Arrived at the gate I upgraded to main cabin select for only 44 dollars more and told my story again. Again a very sincere and empathetic apology. Lastly I was then paged at the gate and a manager have me two vouchers for food, movie, or beverage on my flight. She said «I know this won’t get your stuff back but we wanted to help out with your flight». I will definitely fly with Virgin again and often. This is what service is all about.

I have been flying VA for years, they never let me down. This was the only flight I ever had any issues with (though it was somewhat minor), so I will simply state my issue in this review as everyone knows how awesome I think they are…
My only issue was on my flight (I was sitting in first class) my usb ports on my seat would NOT recognize my iphone. Like seriously?! Because I had a different cord than the junky crap 3ft cord Sprint gave me, and instead have a kick butt cord that is like 10ft long and charges my phone fast. So my phone was dead when I got on the plane and stayed dead the whole time, also the jack for my headset (which of course mine would not work as it was not my iphone headset either) had the same issue and when I did put their crappy, way too big for any normal persons head, headset in, it would lose the connection so clearly it was just in need of servicing.
I HIGHLY recommend that Virgin America make their USB ports friendly to anything that can be charged with a USB cable. It was very frustrating. I got my bags (which were in perfect condition) and got to my ride with 1% left on my phone…

Hip-​hip-​hoorary! Virgin from DFW to LAX was three hours of relaxation. Just walking on the plane, the lighting makes you want to have a good time and the safety video made me smile and giggle.
Flight attendants were super nice and attentive. I really love that the pilots make an appearance before and after the flight. It’s those touches that make flyers comfortable and want to return. In flight free wi-​fi and direct TV is also a plus. I never felt bored.
First time on Virgin and definitely not my last!

This is my absolute favorite airline ever. Beautiful interior with sexy lighting, comfy seats with your very own television. You can purchase movies, watch television in real time (perfect for when you have to travel during a sporting event), play video games or watch music videos. The attendants are very nice and helpful. And the food is actually really good — you can purchase food and drinks by ordering on your television screen. They have many healthy options as well.
My only sad thing is that they don’t fly to many places direct from DFW — but hopefully someday!

Tip: For a long (ish) flight, the $ 69 upgrade to Main Cabin Select is worth it. Free checked bag, priority check in, unlimited free food and entertainment and more leg room!

All you other airlines need to have a seat and take notes. Virgin has got travel down to an art. Really, it’s the only way to fly!
First, the fares are… well… fair. They have consistent prices that hardly fluctuate. Affordable and reasonable, especially when you consider all the frills that they offer.
Second, they have impeccable style and know the true meaning of comfort. I boarded the plane and was instantly mellowed out with the purple and violet neon cabin lighting and jazzy lounge music. The shiny leather seats were spotless and allowed for ample legroom.
Frills? For sure! This is the part that really is 5-​star worthy. Internet connection? You bet and it’s cheap! And at no extra charge, enjoy flat-​screens in the headrests. Pass your time creating playlists from a huge selection of albums new and old. Or how about a little live TV or a movie? They’ve got you covered.
The attendants were laid back, but still super helpful and had lots of personality. It’s rare to find an airline that really gets it, but the folks at Virgin definitely do. For young professionals, it’s really a no-​brainer for flying in style! Thank me later.
