Zippers has changed over the years since my residence in Dallas beginning in 2006. When I moved here Zippers was comfortable and dirty with great strippers every night. Eventually BJs next door became the more popular place, especially on busy Tuesday nights. Zippers was sold and the new ownership tried changing the core of the place by refurbishing the inside, cleaning it up, installing video screens, getting rid of the strippers, adding drag shows and a piano stage in the back. The bar became constantly empty and just felt like a shell of its former self. I had heard that the place changed hands once again, this time to the owners of the very successful, popular and seedy Tin Room. On a quick visit on a Tuesday the place suddenly felt more alive, with people actually hanging out there, and some decent dancers. BJs is still the more popular spot, and both are still rough and tumble with urban vices. Dallas boasts 4 – 5 gay male strip clubs, with Zippers being the least popular at the time of writing and Tin room and BJs being at the top. TMC has an often unappetising tame dancer program, and there used to be an all nude gay male strip club with dancers of color on Harry Hines that conveniently had a bathhouse area in back. Not sure if it’s still around. This corner of gay clubs oddly exists right on the edge of Highland Park in Uptown. Zippers serves for now mostly as a quit refuge from the loud crowds at BJs, but keep it on your male stripper short list as the new ownership should continue to make it better.

This is for the«new» Zippers Hideaway piano bar. I had heard that they turned the back bar at Zippers into a piano lounge. Last night I checked it out with Judy Chamberlain singing and Don Reasonsat the piano. I have to say it was like being transported back to a smaller, smoke-free Hideaway. Had great fun listening(& truth be told singing«quietly» along). Drinks were good, service quick & efficient. I will be back for sure!

A neighborhood dive stripper bar. There were several hot fellas dancing. Pretty easy to get a drink. The bar was packed on Friday night. The only issue I have with this place is the layout. It just is not designed to handle the crowd. The back bar was packed like sardines. The have a miniscule patio in the back.

This is a cool neighborhood dive. What can you say about a dive that is friendly, has good music(especially when Glen is there), a «different» patio, dancers, a roof that leaks, two bar areas, and, a parking lot that is a bitch? Dive. Dive. Dive. Cool place that meets my dive expectations!

I never fail to get a wang to the face from the dancers when i come here. they’re great fun, but can get a little pushy for tips. everyone is very friendly here and it’s easy to strike up a conversation with new people. i feel like it’s an older crowd, and the guys who come here are dressed from suits down to sweatpants. on the weekdays, it’s pretty chill but you can still find a full bar of people. on the weekends, it gets packed! sometimes it takes a looong time to get a drink, but the bartenders are super nice. there’s no cover, street parking is plentiful, beers are super cold, and the guys who come are ready to mingle! but as one of the few ladies in the bar, i always feel welcomed.

This place is alright. Twinks everywhere… not my thing.

This bar reminds me of what anyone would think a typical gay bar would be like. Half naked men dancing around, guys groping and making out in the corners(and in the bathrooms). Guys dancing and sweating all over the place. My gay friends love this place so I guess that speaks for itself. I can have fun anywhere… even if I did get a little embarrassed when I saw one of the strippers whip out his dong to show to another dude. Woowzers. Obviously wouldn’t come here on my own, but I’ll accompany any of my friends if they choose this place.
