He did an inspection on my transmission for free, and reset my toyota sienna van computer. After reset, the car ran smoothly again. I would definitely come back again if I do need to replace or rebuid my transmission.

I was recommended to go to B&B by Conrad Habelt of Habelts auto and I could not be more pleased. I took my car in knowing I had a serious transmission issue. Thw worst turned out to be true and I indeed need a rebuild. Arnoldo and the crew did a great job in keeping the cost in line (under) the quote with quick turnaround and just out and out quality the whole time. The follow up was great and I am off with a great new B&B rebuilt transmission!

This review is long overdue! When we first moved to SF our car broke down. It had just made an 800 mile drive and next thing we know our engine light is on and our car is acting up. We ended up at B&B and I was happy we did. Most places would take advantage of a transmission light on but they are honest told us it just needed a tune up and did a great job! We have brought our car here ever since. These are some stand up guys.

One day while i was driving on the freeway my car started jerking and stalling while accelerating. I immediately told my dad and we figured it had something to do with the transmission. He called one of his buddy that works for an auto part store and he recommend B&B Transmission. I took it with him the next day. We were greeted by Arnoldo the manager of the store. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He told me that my make and model Nissan Maxima had bad built transmission. Before he could tell me what was wrong he told me to leave the car and he would test it at no charge. I did so and I got a call back the next day. He told me that it could either be the valve body or the whole transmission. Once he told me this i was expecting the worst which was to replace the whole transmission which would cost about $ 3500. I didn’t have that money and was about to give up. When we went to go pick my car up Arnoldo took the time to explain to us how the transmission works, what parts he would replace and showed us exactly where he would buy the parts and how much it cost. I thought this was awesome because he took the time when he didn’t have too. After talking he showed us the oil of my cars transmission he noticed that it was dark but it didn’t have pieces of metals like other cars did. After discussing more he told us that it was a high chance that all we needed to do was change the valve body. It was going to be a lot cheaper also it would cost $ 1500. Once he said this we took the chance and authorized for him to change the valve body. 2 days later i get a call that my car was ready. I was off work at 3pm and they closed at 3pm, but Arnoldo and his crew stayed and waited until I arrived. These guys are awesome they really care about helping you and Arnoldo is the man. You can’t go wrong in coming here. So now its been 3 months and I’ve taken my car to Lake Tahoe and to Davis where i go to school and my car does not jerk one bit and when i change gears they operate smoothly. I am very grateful that I came here I saved thousands of dollars and got someone with tons of experience to do an amazing job on my car. OMG, reading some of the negative comments below, I had no problem with B&B,. Couple months ago, had my son’s 01 Ford Taurus transmission replaced with 3yr unlimited warranty coverage. I only wish they had told me first that they able to get newly rebuilt transmission rather then opening up the old transmission, perhaps it would had saved me few hours labor cost? Regardless I was happy (at least for now) there’s no problem. This used car I got last year from City Toyota, running OKAY now, transmission installed runs like new (engine ok) Btw, early 90’s I had my 87 chev monte carloSS & 85 Misibishi Mirage transmission overhauled by B&B

Nobody ever wants to be at the transmission repair shop. It’s like going to the undertaker. You held onto that car too long, and there were plenty of warnings that the transmission was going. Now you’re stuck — fix it or junk it, and the fix isn’t cheap. If you find yourself in this position, you want to deal with people who will be honest with you. Such are the people of B&B Transmissions.
My transmission had been leaking for some time, but I didn’t notice. There was the possibility that it didn’t need a complete rebuild, just new seals, which B&B was willing to do. Alas, running with low fluid had done some damage, which they showed me in all the plates and clutches spread out on the worktable. Do you know how much stuff is inside an automatic transmission? Holy Cow!
They completed the repair on time and at the price quoted. I’m very happy with my rebuild. The Unilocal Deal helped to defray some of the cost.

In December 2005, we spent $ 4,200 at B & B on a new transmission for our 1997 Ford Explorer. That was almost as much as we paid for the car!
And now — November 2012 — we can’t smog the car without replacing the transmission again! A new transmission should last more than 59,000 miles.
B & B came recommended to us, but we’d never return there again. We’re extremely disappointed.

O Ya, there the lowest price around all right ! That’s because that’s what kind of work you will receive too. I had my Dodge truck in there time & time again for A transmission over heating problem. First they said I needed A rebuild, The transmission worked but after an hour or so it would set A temp light for the trans. So I agreed to have it rebuilt. I got the truck back in five day’s, after I drive it for about an hour or so the temp light came on again. I had to take it back three more times. They still weren’t able to fix it .The truck worked and drove fine before the rebuild was done. The fluid turned darker & darker for about two years I still was able to drive for about an hour before the temp light would always come on. I was told by Ranoldo the manager that it must be A electrical glitch. Well I finally went to A transmission shop in Pacifica because the fluid was black, something had to be done .I explained the situation to the owner of the shop. he said that he would have to take it apart to see what was bad in the trans. They found that the electrical temp solenoid had not been changed, this was part of A solenoid group that I was charged for on the rebuild. They also informed me that there is A check valve that plugs up in the cooler line that will cause the trans. to over heat too. Sure enough that was plugged too. he blew air through the line right in front of me to show me that it was plugged. Bingo ! that was the problem all this time. B&B failed to blow out the cooler line, All this time it was the check valve. The shop owner in Pacifica told me that blowing out the cooler line need’s to be done every time to make sure that it not plugged because this will over heat the trans. if it’s blocked. B&B wasted my time and money don’t give them A chance to wast yours ! Bad work ! Bad service! Bad attitude. THANKS FOR NOTHING…

B&B was recommended by Golden Auto. I was pleased with Arnold and Mohammad who provided excellent service. This is one shop who really kept me informed about the problems regarding my car, I was impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism. I would definately recommend this place to everyone, they are fast and affordable. Thank you B&B for keeping me safe .(see you after 2 oil changes Mohammad) ;)

Had to come here twice because they wanted me to leave the car for over 3 hours the first time. I came here the other day with a transmission problem after replacing it previously. Waited about 2 hours, but their estimate was free.
For a full diagnostic they wanted $ 120.

I came here after another auto repair shop had quoted nearly 2K for a full transmission rebuild. My car was experiencing a very unique problem, a clunking noise from what seemed like the powertrain only during sharp turns at low speeds. I took my Subaru in to B&B per my uncle’s recommendation. They checked it, and then I get a call from Arnoldo asking «Do you want to solve the problem for free?». I couldn’t believe the golden words he had just uttered, I replied hell yah, and soon he informed of the quick and easy fix — insert a fuse that would essentially convert my Subaru from 4 wheel drive to 2 wheel drive. The problem was a broken piece of equipment in the tranny that allows the front and rear wheels to spin at different rates while turning. He offered to put the fuse in free of charge however since I have some experience working on cars I told him no prob, I can do it. I pop in the $ 2 fuse purchased at the local Auto Zone (ok so not completely free, but literally 1000 times cheaper than my prior quote!) and voila, I got a 2 wheel drive Subaru with no more clunking. Of course it is not solving the underlying problem, but he gave an interim solution that allows me to drive my car safely with near zero expense. I’ll fix the underlying problem in the future, or get a new car, but because of his help I have that option. Also, I I don’t need four wheel drive for the type of driving I do. Thank you Arnoldo — I was between a rock and a hard place, and instead of gouging a customer, you solved my problems essentially for free. Highly recommended.

Transmission started slipping and brought it to the dealership. The dealership quoted me almost 5k which is a third of what my truck cost me. Called some transmission shops and Arnaldo gave me the best price and picked up my truck from the dealership and replaced it in 1 day. Best price, fast turnaround and best customer service

These people are con artists. I had my tranny rebuilt at the san bruno b b nd they sucked too. but they didnt finish nd they said the daly city has the last part. the woman at the san bruno shop told me that since they were so unprofessional at first (i quote“we should have had the part”). that they were not going to charge me for the OD switch. the dc bb put the switch in and it did not work. This place needs new employees or better managers because the business end SUCKS.

Good place. Nobody likes going to a transmission shop because it usually means big money is being spent, but these guys do good work at a fair price.

This place is great! I had my clutch and slave changed by these guys. Most of the guys who work there knew my dad, so when I showed up they didn’t ask questions. They threw my car on the rack and had the transmission down in about 20 minutes. Parts took about an hour to get there. It took them about 45 minutes to put everything back together. I was impressed by their knowledge and quickness, not to mention the quality of work that they do. If you are looking for a quality and honest repair shop, take your car to B&B Transmissions.

Very happy with the service I received from Rich and his crew at B&B. The car feels great and they checked their work a couple weeks after we got it back which is reasuring.

I bought a «Rebuilt Transmission from this chop-​shop, and they installed 3 before it would even drive off the lot. The guarantee is only 12 months, 12,000 miles, which you should know is far and away less than the 3 year 75,000 mile warranty that Chrysler’s factory re-​manufactured one comes with.
The first one that they put in, we took the car home, and it ended up with stalls at lights immediately, so we returned, and they told us they would get another one in from Sacramento the following morning, and it would be ready by the following evening. When I showed up, the car was not only not ready, but the transmission that was supposedly coming from Sac, had not arrived. No one called me to tell me not to come get the car, and they promised that it would be ready the next day.
When I arrived the next day, I was told that they had put another unit in my car, but that it was also bad. that’s the second replacement. Again, no call warning me not to waste my time, and my wife’s in driving down there to pick up our car when it was not even ready, as promised.
The third one, apparently had some problems with delivery and they told us that it was not going to come for a couple days, but once it was finally fixed, it too had similar problems as replacement number 1 which was chatter, and other issues with stalling at lights, and slow speeds. They told me to have the car diagnosed by Chrysler, and after 100 dollars worth of work unrelated to anything that could explain a transmission shifting problem, or anything tranny related, I returned to B&B and told them I had the work done, and they test drove, and blessed it as working fine now.
My wife drove the car for 10 months, but failed to notice the chatter, and since it was not stalling she didn’t notice the shuddering as a problem, or didn’t associate it with the tranny. I drove the van and noticed the problems, but parked because I thought we had exceeded the warantee period. After 13 months the tranny became completely inoperable, and when I called to discuss it with the manager of the shop, he insisted that there was no accommodation that he could offer me. I insisted that 3 units being bad in a row, was a statistical improbability and that I believe that they were installing used transmissions. «It’s out of warranty, there’s nothing I can do».
DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE, they are not only a clip shop, but their method of doing business is anything but professional.
They even sold me a transmission cooler, which has a radiator that will not even fit on a Town and Country LXI, and since they «do thousands of them», I am stymied as to why they would sell this to me, when it will not even fit the car. They took apart my entire front end, just to discover what anyone who has done one of them would know without even looking at the car. After their work, strangely, I developed a problem with my radiator, which slowly leaked empty every couple days. I caught it before the engine got fried, but it is coincidental.
Trust me, the extra cost from the dealer for your Minivan (Chrysler, dodge, or Plymouth) is money well spent. These are shady characters, and their operation is not above board. By the way, they offered me no sort of discount or other accommodation of any kind, not even so much as an apology.
I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to these people, because they need to be put out of business, and the extra money would only keep that from happening. My next stop is the BBB, and more posting boards, these sort of people cannot be allowed to persistently steal people’s money selling lies, and nightmares.
I wonder if the above listed comments aren’t family members!

I was having clutch issues and was increasingly frustrated with the mechanic runaround. After doing lots of research, I am very happy that I found this place. Rich quoted me the lowest price for the work, and found that the problem was less expensive than his estimate. My car is happy, I am happy.

I was recommeded to B&B by Conrad at Haybelt’s Auto in SF and also by David at J&M Autobody in Daly City. I just got off the phone with B&B and am pleased with the information and customer service so far. The gentleman quoted me prices and work times for me over the phone based on the info I was able to give him. His courtesy and knowledge over the phone really makes me confortable to bring my car in. His prices sound fair and he was very specific on what he expected to do and how much he thought it would cost. I’ll be sure to update after we have the car serviced and if all goes as it seemes, they should earn that 5^th star!
