Overall, decent burritos. BUT… The burritos were overpriced, the staff was rude and the ambience is horrible. The TV was blasting some soap opera and delivery men were installing a new refrigerator. The place wasn’t very clean, but I guess that part of the charm?

Not bad actually! This place is just the best, came here today and man the price was such a great deal. I could not resist the flavor that the place comes with. It tastes better than your average run of the mill Mexican food. The location is near a lot of shopping and companies which makes it a good place to take a break before heading to work. It reminds me of the local taqueria that is down the street from my university and down the street from my house. The portions at this place is off the charts. I almost could not finish my order. They have really tasty drinks that will make you want some seconds. Los Metates is a place that should not be skipped Drawback: despite this place being really popular there is bound to be a line.

Used to b good food with big plates not anymore. Have always liked it in the past, but I would come in the day. Mayb the nite crew is the b team. I ordered the pastor plate and it was tiny and all lettuce and rice. Mayb she thought I said kids plate because that’s what this was. No Bueno!

I’m doing this review for the Super Carnita Burrito! What can I say? I was left speechless bite after bite of very flavorful pork, the guacamole tastes delicious and very fresh, truthfully, all of their ingredients at this taqueria are fresh! I’m considering making this my Go-to-spot, as el farolito and la taqueria are kind of far. I highly recommend trying their burritos, you will not regret it.

Steak and prawn super burrito is The BOMB! I’ve also tried their chicken quesadilla and carnitas burrito — both very, very good. I work in the Mission but still come here for this kinda food. Great prices but be ready, cash only.

Best in Daly City, this is my go-to since I live so close. It sucks they don’t open until super late like El Faro though :( I usually get the super carnitas burrito with everything. Simple but it taste amazing! And what I love the most is that they make their food super quick within 5 mins. So whenever I want something quick to-go, I come here because I’d rather spend $ 9 here and wait 5 mins than go to McDonald’s, spend $ 9 and get. well… McDonald’s.

. Al pastor tacos/burritos are some of the best I’ve ever had. The carnitas is god damn delicious too. This thing is the ultimate hole-in-the-wall divey Mexican spot, but it’s awesome. And the prices are super reasonable. Always fast in and out, as you’d expect. Banda music only… so you know it’s real.

Most underrated taqueria. Best in Daly City if not, then on of the top taquerias without a doubt. Burritos never seem to disappoint. Excellente.

My rating may be funky because *drumroll* this is my first time on the West Coast and therefore, at least one of the first times I ever had real Mexican food! Made a quick stop here on the way south and had the best burrito of my life! Friend and I split a chorizo burrito, pork quesadilla, sand horchata. Portions are huge. Pricing is good. Each bite is to die for. I don’t think Ive ever had food that physical soft besides fresh cream. No way to describe it but you must come. We were the only non-Mexicans there so… that might be evidence that it’s the real thing?

The tacos are incredibly overpriced at $ 2.50 per taco. That’s at least a dollar more than any other taco shop or truck. Instead of paying the high price for tacos, I opted for a regular burrito. You get a good amount of food for the burrito but the carne asada was under-seasoned. The chips that come with your order are not fresh made tortilla chips. They taste like your regular store-bought chips. I’d give the burrito 3 stars for being average, but I’m taking away a star for the overpriced tacos and the chips.

The YUMMIEST Mexican food I’ve had in the bay! Parking is on the street, not the best, but it is worth it! Authentic food with awesome flavor. Quick place to get a great but of food at a good price.

There are good burritos and there are really good burritos. Los Metates has the really good burritos. I prefer the carne asada burrito because the steak is well cooked and is certainly a step up from Chipotle. The restaurant is really out of the way, but if you are near Serramonte, it’s definitely worth the drive. Non gross bathrooms are also a plus.

So good! Not much out here in the area, but if you are stuck at the Toyota garage, this will satisfy you. Or if you have been shopping at Metro or Serramonte and need a hearty recharge and don’t want fluffy mall food. I’ve been tempted to try the BBQ next door, or INO, but this usually wins out. Their carnitas has a nice char with crispy surface and well seasoned insides. The grilled chicken is also top notch and possibly the best around. I usually get 3 – 4 tacos with various meats, but the burritos are also excellent. There is a salsa station to fill to your content. Be warned, if you have nut allergies, the wet burrito/enchilada sauce will contain peanut butter. If the ceviche is fresh, try that too for a starter.

I had an awesome shrimp taco here but in my chicken taco, the meat was too dry. I’d love to come back and try everything. Food does take ten minutes because there’s one guy cooking. Prices are $ 3.50 for a super taco, which includes guac. Chips are good. This place is not a dive, it’s quite clean and has a flat screen tv and looks well-maintained. The body shops on the same street and the shuttered catfish & ribs shack, however, make the block look divey. In the back of the strip mall are several solid businesses, not visible from the street. I had no trouble parking in the back parking lot where Cybelle’s and Planet Fitness are. There is a garage that’s only for Planet Fitness so just don’t go into that one. Street parking is limited.

I’ve only been here twice, but I was pretty satisfied both times. The first time, I tried the super burrito, and it was pretty average. Not much to rave about. However, the next time I went, I had the fish tacos, and man… they were amazing. I only ordered one to begin with because my friend had said that they were big. And she was right. Their tacos are huge(compared to the Rubio’s fish taco) and it filled me up already. Also, on Unilocal it said that they were CASHONLY, but they actually take card now. Might be a new thing. Give the fish taco a try! You won’t regret it.

Really good burrito, better than Chipotle(of course they said its not even real Mexican food) but at the same cost. Got all the fixings, even guac. 1 huge burrito can be shared for 2 people, very filling since its so loaded. But one caveat, get super thirsty right after. Chicken is good. Beef was ok.

So I’ve been living in San Francisco for a couple of months and I’ve been craving Mexican! So I found los metates not too far from me and my first impression well it doesn’t have it’s own parking lot :(so if you find parking on the street, GREAT! And if not park somewhere and walk lol. It’s a small restaurant, prices are decent and their pick de gallo is delicious! Their sauces are really good, especially with the burrito. I got a regular carne asada burrito and man the meat was so flavorful. Every part of the burrito was amazing I really any complain. Good service, great food and food doesn’t take that long.

I’ve been looking for a decent taco place nearby. This place has good steak and carnitas. I preferred the steak tacos. My friend had a burrito which she described as decent. Not the best taco place I’ve ever been to but it satisfies my cravings. Each order comes with a stack of chips and unlimited usage of the salsa bar. Wish salsa was spicier. The place is clean and the people are nice. Lots of people were rolling in even though it was 1 already. Wish the place was open later to satisfy late night munchies.

Los Metates is a hole in the wall taqueria. They have a few dine in tables and a fresh salsa bar. It’s my go to spot when I don’t feel like driving to Taqueria Cancun. However, the burritos here can be a hit or miss sometimes. Came here last night for dinner and ordered a regular grilled chicken burrito. It was portioned just right. The chicken wasn’t dry and was seasoned well. Chips are included with your order. The employees here are friendly and efficient.
