Lucky Bakery and Cafe

I’m the UPS guy in the area. The line at Subway was really long because some dude was ordering sandwiches for the entire office so I ran across the street and got a tuna sandwich here instead. Tuna was fresh and good, not a lot of mayo, toasted sourdough. $ 7 with a soda and bag of chips. Highly recommend.

If you were driving by, you could easily miss this little bakery. Either that, or you try to miss it because it looks questionable from the outside.
My boyfriend and I were desperate for some quick breakfast food one morning, so we decided to go here since it was close to his house. We each got a croissant breakfast sandwich and were both pleased to see them actually cook the food in the kitchen! We are far too familiar with small cafes like this popping everything in the microwave.
I also love that they always have donut holes when we come by! I’ve had a lot of bad luck with donut shops always being out. The donuts are pretty good too.
P. S. They do not serve Vietnamese coffee. During one of my trips, I asked if they did and the employee said yes. I’m pretty sure they just threw ice in regularly brewed coffee and added condensed milk. It was pretty terrible lol

Meals are always prepared fresh!!! You can tell the ingredients that they use here every time are fresh! If you are in the mood for food that are prepared with T.L.C, definitely try Lucky Bakery and Café!

I’ve only come here a few times but the only dish I remember that is good is the grilled chicken Vietnamese sandwich. Very good! Usually fills me up for the whole day.

I’ve read peoples reviews that put 1 to 2 stars. Don’t believe it, all these people do is complain. I’ve looked at their accounts. This place is AWESOME!!! Great prices, great service great people. Ignorant pigs who make immigrant comments are not welcome. If you worked as hard as these people do you wouldn’t be whiners. The baked goods are off the hook!!! Any place that sells spam gets high personal marks.

This should be zero star, on 9÷9÷15 I forgot gave this place low rating and accidentally came back to this place even though said wasn’t coming back again because was mistaken this store of some other one, the guy was complaining he got bad mouth reviews which there wasn’t any from me at Unilocal and that guy got in trouble by his boss tried telling him why got low review he will not listen, I haven’t been using Unilocal account for a while someone else has been using my phone, and that same person help set up this Unilocal account an account is under my name doesn’t mean it’s my fault, people can get into others account without them knowing, and ask the same person who did my account if she did something to my account they admitted we are not friends anymore so wasn’t my fault to begin with, did try telling him this but he will not listen. Talk about being simple minded immigrant dude who judge people by it’s cover.
As for the coffee issue, he still say it’s my fault and I got you on camera doesn’t matter it was this old man doing, he served the coffee not me I only took out the foam with a spoon from the coffee cup since he put lots of milk foam, I poured some coffee liquid in the cup there is nothing wrong with that, the guy stated you could add some stuff inside the coffee showing me table around the corner, on that corner were different kind of coffee other things there, then did what was instructed guy didn’t like what was done got all defensive about the issue nobody is perfect neither was he.

I always and only come here in the afternoons, and to my disappointment, all the donuts and pastries are usually sold out. THE Vietnamese sandwiches are good. The price is right and the taste is really good. What makes this sandwich so good is the freshly baked bread that they use… The outside is so crisp (not hard like French bread or baguette) and flakey while the inside of the bread is soft… Kinda like a hooked up Dutch crunch bread minus the crunch. The bread by itself has a sweetness to it. The inside of the sandwich… I give it a B+… It honestly could be more flavorful! And once I came in and actually got to try some of their pastries… Omgoodness… Really really really good. Their pastries gets an A+. The customers service is always super friendly and the ambience isn’t nothing to rave about but it gets the job done. Because the food is really food and the service friendly… They got that 5star outta me!

They really have good Vietnamese sandwich. The bread fresh and everything inside is very good. I usually get chicken and it’s always good. The flavor great. I have ordered other stuff and it always great. I prefer the breakfast burrito sausage and OMG so good. I think their food is something I can make at home but the food is good. I love that it’s near my house.

Friendly customer service. Variety foods with reasonable prices and everything are homemade. They make their own burger bun, croissant, donuts, Danishes and much more. Come check this place out and you’ll know what I’m talking about. Must try their Pork Chop Plate, Teriyaki Plate, Katsu Plate.

Came here for breakfast with a friend. Service was great, and the place was very clean and welcoming. They’ve got an extensive menu with very reasonable and affordable prices. My friend and I both ordered bagels, and they came in a timely manner. I got the ham and cream cheese bagel, and oh my goodness it was the best bagel I’ve ever had. It was perfectly toasted and there wasn’t too much spread. Loved it so much that I decided to take home lunch, ordered a cheeseburger and Thai iced tea. Both of which were pretty good. Fries come with the burger, and the tea wasn’t too sweet, but the boba was a little weird. All in all, the food was great, the place was nice, I am definitely going back.

This place was really nice… wide assortment of food on the menu i.e. breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They offered burgers, Hawaiian food, sandwiches and donuts.
Most noticeable was the café’s cleanliness and organization. There’s a Subway and a McDonalds nearby. But if you don’t want to go the fast food route, this café is a definite option.
More than likely I’ll stop by this place again tomorrow. I didn’t order a meal, just a donut. Next time I’ll try a full-​fledged meal and update my rating. For now, 4 stars seems right.

Service is great! I mostly come for the breakfast bagel which I have to say is one of the best in SF! Forever a customer!

A hidden gem in my neighborhood. Staff is always friendly and cheerful. I became a regular when I tried their breakfast burrito, which I’ve come to crave several times a week. They don’t have too wide of a donut selection available, but they make up for that with their savory menu. Also, don’t expect to be in and out if you order hot food because they tend to take longer, but usually that’s because there’s only 2 people working. Well worth thr wait though.

Let me start off and say – the dude behind the counter was really nice. 5 stars for the service, no doubt.
But… the most important part is the food. And honestly, the sandwich was a little weak.
I ordered the roast beef with swiss, and it honestly wasn’t that good. The color of the meat was dark leather brown, cheese was highly processed, and the lettuce was iceberg. Bread was over-​toasted, so nothing really worked together. Price was just over $ 5 – honestly, I was hoping for fresher, higher quality breads, meats, and cheeses for what I received!
Sorry guys, but I wasn’t feelin’ it.

Wile doing business near the Cow Palace, I needed a place to grab a bite and go over some paperwork. Saw this place, checked it on Unilocal,saw the 4 star average and decided to go in. There’s an extensive menu of croissant sandwiches, salads, burgers, vietnamese sammies and lunch plates.
I ordered the grilled chicken Vietnamese sandwich. The french roll was lightly toasted, slightly crunchy and soft. Perfect. It had a lot of flavor you’d expect from a Vietnamese sandwich (banh mi) with peppers, cilantro, shredded carrots and delicious grilled chicken. At 5 bucks, it’s one of the better, tastier sandwiches I’ve had.
The service was friendly and I love the fact that it’s family owned. There are only 2 small tables and 3 larger ones that can accomodate 4 people. Any décor is lacking, but for your entertainment, there’s a 46″ TV playing random uninteresting programs about animals (Friday noon)
This place doesn’t look like much from the outside. Heck it doesn’t even look like much inside either, but give it a chance! I hope to go back before returning to LA, but would drop in next time I’m in this area for business.

Off the chain breakfast. Those croissants are stupidly good. Good service. A friend even dropped in and had a problem with his card and they said he could come back and pay later.
Skip the franchises, hit up Lucky.

Love the double cheese burger! And you cant beat the price. Also very good customer service.

This place was a dream to discover as we searched for food near the Cow Palace.
It made me smile to see Spam Plate listed on the menu under Gourmet.
Good and friendly counter service. Wide selection of food. Yummy turkey sandwich on a roll. Hip Hip… Hooray.
