Pretty good Filipino food for a mall food court. I came here on Sunday to kill time before my flight at SFO and I needed a quick dinner. $ 5.95 for a one item meal– got the kare kare with a scoop of rice. That’s the cheapest I’ve seen kare kare anywhere but then again I’m pretty sure it’s because it’s only beef, no oxtail and no tripe. Still not badly priced. I’d definitely come back here when I get the chance to go back to Serramonte.

The star review is a negative 1 star. Crap food. Crap service. Crap untensils. The forks they give out break on contact with food. Wtf! «Most of our customers bring their own untensils…» Hahahahahahaha

DON’T EATATTHISPLACE!!! Terrible food. Servers measure every little amount they serve. Well, if you still decide you want to eat at this place, make sure to take your BP& Cholesterol Meds and BRINGYOUROWNFORKANDSPOON. They give you the cheapest plastic fork and spoon(VERYSMALLANDVERYSOFT); I asked next door for forks!!! Also, they buy the CHEAPESTRICE and use Ice Cream Scooper to measure Rice. FOODIS Terrible!!!

Hubby went to get Panda Express for lunch, so I meandered down the food court and went to get some lumpia at Manila Bay. I should’ve checked Unilocal before I ordered the lumpia. It certainly looked OK but tasted awful. It was $ 5 for the paltry few pieces and the meat filling(was it meat or raccoon?) tasted sourish. Hubby stuffed one into his mouth and after a few chews, he spit it out. He said it tasted like the meat had gone bad, sour bad. This is a man who never spits out food. The food inspectors ought to check this place because I believe they are not properly storing food or serving stale leftovers from another day. That’s a based on taste. There used to be a line for the food but there is no more. The choices at this food court is pitiful. Panda Express and Hot Dog are probably the only ones who serve fresh food. The Hawaiian BBQ also has a line but the rest of them have few customers. I have to make a mental note to avoid this place, Manila Bay Cuisine. The food is pretty bad if you can’t even do lumpia right.

Stay away from this place, if you guys have hypertension or BP problem, you’ll definitely end up calling 911, very rude n unfriendly, we bought two one item entrée, since we have a four year old daughter, we hope to ask for an extra paper plate, to my disgust the lady behind the counter said .11 cents… So what I did I went to the store next to them n ask for one, without even saying any word gave me one.

The service makes me feel uncomfortable, kinda like they are mad at me for going and ordering there thus making them work. The food was average but pricey for what it was imo. My friend had an experience where they kept adding on items to his meal even though he was clearly saying that he did not want them whatsoever. Not a fan. I wanted to give it a 1 star but 1) it’s in a mall food court. they’re not claiming to be anything more and, 2) I’m not a seasoned Filipino food eater(from Bay Area and have many Filipino friends but still, i just have average knowledge of Filipino food). Going off of service mainly for my review(2 star is gracious!)

The Coconut juice in can is 2.50 each and that is only .99 cents at Pacific Super. They charge too much almost x2. I rather eat somewhere else. There too many nice Filipino restaurant in Daly City.

They ran out of lumpia! What Filipino eating establishment runs out of lumpia??? I ordered a one item special. When I asked where’s the side condiments as shown in the photos, I was told it’s just for the pictures! The food wasn’t great! If you’re in Serramonte and craving for Filipino food, you are better off making a short drive at other nearby Filipino restaurants.

This place is awful. The first time I came here, I got an order of lumpia. They were cold and stale. I came back a few months later and thought I’d give it another shot. Ordered lumpia again. Again, cold and stale. After eating one piece, I brought it back and asked for a new order. She said that all she could do was microwave them for me. Now they were soggy. Hot, but soggy. Add on top of that unfriendly service. I learned my lesson. There are other better places to eat than here. :(

The service in this filipino fast food is terrible!!! The workers here are mostly old people with an attitude. We ordered palabok and I told them, I want it to be heat up but, the woman said«No» because it’s already warm. I said I’m just gonna pay extra for it but they said no, so I told them«I’m not gonna get it then» and the woman said okay. When we get to our table it’s not even hot. Also, we ordered extra soup of sinigang and you have to pay extra 50¢ for it. They put the extra soup in a paper bowl! Can’t they put in a plastic bowl like where they put your entrees? You put a soup in a paper bowl, that’s gonna spill. This is a bad filipino place.

This place is fine if you are in dire need of Filipino food and have absolutely no way out of the Serramonte mall. Otherwise, go somewhere else. Daly City is full of delicious Filipino food, literally. It’s everywhere. Every area and hood there has multiple Filipino spots, it’s great! Just not this one. Prior to arriving, everyone should know Filipinos favor each other. So if you’re not an older Filipino, or anyone who obviously speaks fluently be prepared to be ignored or served last(even if you arrived first). I personally can speak enough Tagalog to get around in the Philippines, but being born here and after hearing these allegations I decided to order in English. True. I arrived first, was cut by an older man who spoke fluently, and was forced to patiently wait as they held a conversation. The sinigang is super sour. The meat is either too fatty to eat or really chewy like it’s been cooked too long. Idk what cuts of meat they use, but I’m sure they can buy better cuts for the prices.

I’m Mexican and from time to time I like eating filipino food. So I was in line waiting to be attended to and the 2 ladies that were serving food were conversing and laughing for 10 minutes with the customer in front of me. Mind you im hungry. Then the lady serves me my food and it’s cold. Only thing warm was my rice because of the rice cooker. Then I asked to take it to go and they charged me 11 cents for a container too small to even for my food! I was like«your kidding right» will not buy from them again.

2 stars because the beef kaldereta tasted decent. Other than that, this place has literally NOTHING going for it at all. It doesn’t matter if you’re white, Filipino, Chinese, whatever, the ladies who work here are RUDE and impolite to their customers. They barely make eye contact with you, don’t say thank you or you’re welcome, never smile, they are ALWAYS gossiping about their customers in Tagalog too. Like just because I’m white doesn’t mean I can’t understand your language, po. My advice to the managers is to SACK these ladies and get in some younger workers, possibly college students, who can liven up the place and show a little charisma. Add all this on to the fact that it literally cost me $ 10 for a «medium» bowl of kaldereta, which had only about 5 chunks of beef in it. It’s Daly City. You’d expect to find some decent Filipino food coming from a place that’s literally run by Filipinos, but nope. Go to the Filipino barbecue place on School Street instead, where they have $ 5 combos with 2 entrees. This place charges $ 10 for 2 entrees, not including tax. Ridiculous! Save yourself the time and effort and go to Panda Express or the new Curry place that just opened up instead.

My tortang talong was 80% made of fried eggs. I don’t like their rice, the grains are falling apart. Their sisig is good because they make it hot.

Service = super friendly. Food = good. It’s not the best but if you are like me, and forget to freaking eat while running errands and don’t want to hit up a fast food joint, this might be a good solution in a pinch. Mitchell’s ice cream is served here, and if you know halo halo, then get it with the ice cream too!(Yeah, high calories and sugars!) Prices = reasonable.

Me thinks not. I was excited to have Filipino food but something is definitely wrong with this restaurant. Maybe the food is too authentic for my American palette? Everything tasted like it was a week old and made from the cheapest ingredients. I couldn’t finish any of the dishes but the taste was so terrible. My coworkers had never tried Filipino food. I refused to share any of my dishes out of fear that they would assume all Filipino food was like that. However, the people seemed very nice and patient when I ordered. That counts for something.

I ordered one order of Fish Sarciado and the fish was underneath all the scrambled egg and tomato mixture. When I opened the container at home, the fish was all FISHHEAD — hardly any meat. I just ended up eating the egg and tomato mixture. They should close this place down.

Will never patronize this establishment again. We have eaten from here on several occasions when we are in the mall because our 2 year old likes the sinigang and mechado but after today’s visit I refuse to eat here again. We bought 2 items(tinola & eggplant torta for something like 10 bucks(very small portions, I might add, for 10 buckaroonis) and it was to dine at the food court. I asked for a small empty bowl so that I could feed my 2 year old a smaller portion of rice & tinola broth. Erk #1– gotta pay for a small empty bowl. Whatever. times are hard but the NEW curry place across the way Naan and Curry(yummy food by the way) were kind enough to give my husband a small empty bowl free of charge. One point deducted from Manila Bay… BROWNIE point for Naan and Curry!!! My son is loving the tinola but he’s 2 so of course there’s leftovers. I think to myself no problem baby boy… mommy will just get a «to go» container. After all that’s what MOST places will do if you can’t finish your food so you’re not wasteful. So I walk up to the lady behind the counter with the half eaten bowl of tinola and asked for a to go container. She looks at me and the bowl of tinola and says«well you see there is a charge for „to go“ containers!!» What??? What? Wait a minute I just bought food from you and I can’t finish it and NOWYOU’RETELLINGME I GOTTAPAYFOR A «To go» container. No thanks. You guys SUCK!!! And guess what I’m telling everyone I know how cheap and sucky your establishment is. Anyone who is looking for good Filipino food. .check out Rizal plaza on King Dr. Or Kuya’s or Cabalen or Karilagan. Waaaay better food AND I’m positive you get free«to go» containers. Way to go Manila Bay Cuisine!!!
