SERVICE: I did not get a service with him but an inspection
INSPECTION: He looked at the car I want to buy and told me if there was any problem or not without charging me (of course i gave him tip because nobody works for free)
COSTUMER Service: Joaozinho answered the phone many times and did stop what he was doing to answer my stupid questions, he made an appopintment with my husband and the seller. He was on time and did what he said he would do.
In case I do need a service I will come back.

Jon know his stuff, after trying other locations around the bay area I’m glad to find this place and make new friends. Jon has taken care of my Benz, Toyota and Genesis always on time and a true professional and reasonable prices. Unique Automobile is the best around this area hangs down.

Johnny and Humberto do great work. They only recommend what is necessary for your vehicle and have always been fair and available when I need them. My brother first introduced me to Unique a few years ago and now I recommend them to everyone.

I’ve been bringing my cars to Joao and his team since they were at their previous location in Belmont. I’ve always found them to be prompt, honest and thorough. They do excellent work and provide very good car advice. They have done quite a bit of work on my Toyota Corolla and Honda Odyssey. A number of years ago, I sent my sister-​in-​law there to have them do some major work on her Volvo. I still have the Volvo, and it is running great.

I’ve been going to these guys for a long time. Hrs the only other person besides myself that is allowed to work on my JEEP. Jon is a good guy and honest.

Joao is a great mechanic. He’s very honest and trustworthy. Moreover his attention to detail is exacting. Please allow me to explain further.
My girlfriend had just bought a car from a man who seriously lied about the integrity of the car; it was tantamount to fraud. Joao had volunteered over the phone to first review the car prior to purchase, but the scheduling of the sale did not allow for Joao’s review.
After buying the car, I took my girlfriends car to Joao and hew reviewed the car finding a whole slew of hidden problems. He politely dismissed me and called my girlfriend to report his findings, not realizing that I wasn’t the seller, but her boyfriend.
The car was running, but not very well. The check engine light was not on, but it was obvious that something was seriously wrong. Joao informed my girlfriend that the check engine light had been tampered with so as to hide the fact that nearly 20 engine codes had tripped. Moreover, the cheap aftermarket stereo that was self installed was also jamming the engine codes from reading on the ODB2 reader.
We returned together to leave the car for repairs. Joao replaced following problematic items:
Radiator
Air pump
Vacuum Solenoid
Cam shaft sensor
Air flow meter
Fuel pump relay
Air injection valve
Coolant temp sensor
Catalytic converter
The car ran significantly better. The before and after was like night and day. Additionally, Joao had topped off all of the fluids and flushed the engine oil, transmission fluid, and radiator coolant as well. Moreover, Joao even took the time to try to glue some of the door lining that was coming off. even though we didn’t ask him to do that.
A few days later the check engine light returned. We called Joao and he asked us to come back in. He checked the codes and one of the parts that he replaced was failing. He informed us that the part was covered under warranty and that he would replace it at no charge.
Though the work took approximately a week to complete, I deeply appreciate his thoroughness and attention to detail.
As a side note, Joao’s shop is the cleanest automotive shop that I’ve ever visited. I had no feeling of discomfort as I do in most smaller shops due to the fact that everything is normally covered in a thick layer of dust and grease. Rather, Unique Automotive is so clean that I wouldn’t hesitate to eat lunch while I waited for my service to complete.
Despite not having any familial connection with Joao, I feel like he treated us like family. He offered excellent service, complete honesty, and communicated effectively and respectfully with us. I can’t recommend Joao more. As long as he remains in the automotive mechanic business and I live near him, Joao is my go to guy.

Worst Customer Service EVER!
What do you expect from a Automotive Body Shop when you walk in???
First time i called this Place this guy Joazinho (John) treated me fine and talking about the problem my car was having he asked me to swing by, then, he could check for me… I was supposed to swing by in the same day we talked over the phone but the problem my car was having disappeared so… I didn’t show up.
2 weeks later my car started to have a problem with transmission module sensor and I decided to call him again to talk about the problem but I didn’t know he was pissed with me because I didn’t show up even I said: I’ll try to stop by … Didn’t make any appointment or asked him to wait for me… Anyways… I started the conversation with him and even in the beginning he was not very nice… Then he asked me how I knew the problem then very calm I explained to him that my friend did the scam for me and gave me the diagnostic so… He started to talk to me in a way that made me kind thing: what’s wrong with this way??? So… I asked him… When can I stop by to check what’s going on with the car? because I will have kids in the car and as soon I said that he said it was not allowed I go with Kids to his Body Shop and told me to rent a car and leave the car for all day long. WTF??? Rent a car just to check whats the problem and gime me the estimate? Then, I told him I couldn’t do that because I will spend a lot money for some he can do in 10minut and he said: I can’t look your car if you can not leave here for all day and if you decided to do not do the service I’ll charge you for what I checked… After talk to him I called my BF and said to him: Hey… This guy is very rude, he told me to rent a car and said I can’t go with the kids then my BF said he maybe was busy or having some problem and that I should give him a chance and try to go there in person instead call him, so I did…
Today I asked to get off earlier and decided to drive there, WHAT A BIG MISTAKE!!! I asked my Bf for the address n walked in with my car.
When I got there nobody came to me asking if they could help me so. I decided to look for the person my Bf said (Joaozinho) … I figured who was Joazinho and walked in his direction and gave him my hands saying: Hi, how are you? The guy looked at me and said: My hands are dirty!!! Hum… I didn’t mind and said: hey I called you 2 weeks ago about my car’s problem and I would like you do the estimated to replace the thermostat because the check engine light is on and I just came from the dealer with all the diagnostic and he asked me to wait inside the car while he finish to working in another car. I went inside my car n waited for exactly 45minut… Yes, 45 minut inside a car waiting for a estimate then when I asked him if he could do the estimate because I needed to drive back to the city he said: I can’t stop what I’m doing just because you want, come back later!!! I was pissed because this guy made me wait almost 1 hour to do a F$&$&$ estimate for later This guy just say: I can’t ??? Wtf? What a terrible customer service over the phone and terrible customer treatment ! I will never, EVER go back to this place. The guy is a such asshole!!! He doesn’t even be a owner if he doesn’t know how to treat people!!!

They always take care of me! They have great costumer service and always take good care of my car. I only go their because I trust them. Ask for Humberto if you decide to go!

Humberto is a fantastic mechanic!!! My two daughters and I’ve been going to his place for almost 3 years. He is extremely honest and competent. I highly recommend him.

My BMW decided to break down on me last weekend, all the way in union city. I didn’t think twice, I called my insurance and asked them to tow it to unique. These guys were again very fast and efficient in detecting the problem and fixing my car. I The shop is clean and they have a nice waiting are with a plasma tv so you don’t get too bored if you have to wait a bit… All in all I am extremely pleased, Humberto even showed me the parts that he removed from my car (which were all either broken or melted… FML) and my car was up and running again.

So I walked in the shop not expecting anything and as soon as I steped in, I was welcomed. Humberto was very helpful and very professional and knowledgable. He assessed my car and took it right away. The very important thing he asked me if I have a ride going home which is a A++ for a customer service. He kept me posted and e-​mailed me with the prices of parts and labor. On top of that he hook me up with a free oil change and suggested further repair that needed to be done in the future. All in all I have a good experience with theses guys and I can trust them working on my BMW 325. I would recomend Unique Automotive if you have BMW-​Audi-​Mercedes but they work with all makes and models too. Good people+ Good service= Happy Customer with referals

I had a check engine light on my 2003 Subaru Impreza, turned out to be failed Head Gaskets causing 2 of my cylinders to misfire. Subaru wanted to charge me $ 2800 for the fix. We all know that they’ll always find more once they get in there and will charge you outrageous amounts for that. I called up Unique Automotive and got a quote for the same work, turned out that I was able to get the head gaskets and the additional work done all for less than Subaru wanted to charge.
My car now drives like it did when 75,000 miles ago.
