Amica Insurance Grunion Run at Dana Point

Sometimes I wonder why I like running events. Most of the time I dislike running over 3 miles, I get sick before and usually after the event, I usually end up in the bottom 10 for people who finish if I go longer than a 5k and it just seems like such hard work overall. But, I keep coming back for more, more, more. Yes, I’m aware that I’m a bit odd. But, running can be addicting!
Today I participated in the 10k event. This was my third 10k event with in the past year and it has been by far my favorite 10k I’ve done. The course was flat and fast and had the most amazing views since more than half the course over looked the ocean. Surprisingly, this is only the third year that they’ve had a race here. For being so «new» for a race event, there were actually quite a lot of people participating. The more the better for races!
Overall the event was well organized and the volunteers were simply amazing. Actually, this event has been the only 10k event that I can honestly say that I’ll participate in again next year – I’ll either do the 10k or the 5k. It was great. Loved it and the money you spend on the race also goes towards a great cause, which makes me happy.
