The sandwiches are excellent. I had the rueben sandwich both times and it’s one of the best I’ve had on the west coast. The customer service is excellent and the sandwiches come out quick and are served with a side of coleslaw or potato salad, I go with the coleslaw and it’s tasty. It has a great location in the Dana Point Harbor with plenty of seating inside and outside. They also serve breakfast and pizza but I haven’t tried either of those but the pizza looks good. The only down fall is the sandwiches are overpriced, $ 15 for a rueben is a little expensive in my opinion. Other than that the food is excellent and the atmosphere is inviting with a attentive and friendly staff. I’ll be coming back for sure because finding a good rueben around here is hard to find.

We came here last Saturday morning as they were opening. We sat inside. Our server, Olympia was nice and very attentive. I had a delicious BLT and my husband enjoyed his egg and cheese sandwich with jalapenos and onion. We enjoyed our breakfast and the coffee was delicious! Looking forward to coming back! Great food, great location and great service!

Seriously great little deli. Been going there for years, the deli sandwiches are about like I used to get in NYC, good lean meat piled high. My good friend comes from some distance just to order the tongue sandwich — not my thing, but he loves it!(Also a New Yorker!). Wonderful homemade pickles, wonderful matza ball soup. Pops makes the best pizza in the area — thin crust, good sauce, good quality cheese. So, I don’t know where these other people had problems! Service has always been attentive, friendly, and HONEST. It’s a small business, so I’m guessing they can get slammed when the boat gets in from Catalina, but I’ve never had a problem. As I said, been going there for years! Hopefully, will be able to keep going there for even longer.

The corned beef Reuben is still as delicious as I remember it… The meat is flavorful and the sauerkraut is just right. They also grilled the bread perfectly. Loved the potato salad, too. It’s got the right amount of dill, celery, olives, and egg. I truly enjoyed my meal and visit. The wait staff is on top of things

I am eating the most awesome breakfast burrito that I have had in a long time! Harbor Deli and pizzeria is definitely the place to go for quality and extremely delicious food. Breakfast lunch or dinner, classic deli style. Don’t miss out!

After our whale watching trip, everyone was thoroughly famished. We settled on this place because the menu seemed to have something for everyone. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The place was clean and organized. I decided to have the pastrami and ordered it on a french roll, then asked what was the most popular choice. Our server Javier said the most popular was on rye bread so I went with that. It was truly amazing. The bread was so good and the pastrami perfect. Another member of our party ordered the Italian sausage and said it was great. My wife had an Asian type salad and cleaned her plate. Everyone left happy and full. Javier took very good care of us. A big thank you to everyone here for a nice dining experience at a reasonable price. I will definitely return next time I’m vacationing here.

Geez. Can there be any more fake reviews than this establishment? HELLO UnilocalPOLICE, where the hell are you? anyways, not sure if this is the same owned shop as the juice bar/ice cream shop to the left of this pizza/deli(my receipt says same address) so im going to review what I ate, the ice cream. It was very good(chocolate, and the choc brownie flavors.) Good portion, very fresh and crispy sugar cone, really really good. Got 3 cones, one was double scooped, and a cup, so 4.5 orders, only 13 bucks. The baskin robbs near my house charges more, great deal good ice cream. Bunch of jerk-offs and their fake reviews man hate that shit on Unilocal. So obvious they are purposely trying to hurt the biz. So thats that. Nice polite elder fellow served me.

Came to eat with my family(4) only(2) were served their food and finished it before the last two standing could eat. Obviously service is terrible. Then to top it off I got a egg salad sandwich with a normal size price of bread and the top was only ¼ the size, really??? Do not recommend this place

WARNING: IDENTITYTHEFT!!! I came to this little deli with my boyfriend and our son yesterday afternoon(2÷15÷16). I did not realize that when we left to sit down, the cashier kept my credit card. After we left I began looking for my card and realized the cashier had never returned it to me. I had my boyfriend call the restaurant and they confirmed they had my card. They were already closing and said they would set it aside so we can pick it up today. Upon checking my account this morning, I noticed additional charges on my credit card from the deli that were charged today(2÷16÷16) that I did not authorize. I again had my boyfriend call the deli which got nowhere. He was so upset, he had to leave work to drive down there to get this resolved. The woman had the audacity to tell him that«sometimes their system will do random charges on customers cards». I have NEVER in my entire life had a restaurant charge«random» charges on a card. I am furious. I now have to change all of my card numbers and put a fraud alert on my credit report to ensure my information has not been compromised. A simple error in not returning a customers card is not a huge deal(I should have been more conscious of getting my card back), but charging random charges the next day is fraud. I am filing a police report today. BEVERYCAREFULWHENCOMINGHERE!

Awful awful service. pizza is way overpriced. $ 28 for one medium sized pizza with 4 toppings and 2 sodas. it took over 40 minutes to come out even though there was no more than 3 tables with people at them inside or outside. after it FINALLY came out, they told us that they didn’t have jalapeños(one of our toppings). given that toppings are $ 2 each, I asked for my $ 2 back and they would not give it to me. the older lady told me to «take my pizza». I was too hungry to argue so I just took the pizza and left. will never ever go back here. with all of this said, however, the pizza wasn’t bad. not worth $ 28 and 40 minutes of waiting, though.

First time here. I’m a major foodie and the cornbeef and pastrami deli is outstanding. I’m from the east coast and its Some of the best I’ve had. Not sure why they have bad reviews… Its definitely not because of the food quality. They roast their own turkey, pastrami and Cornbeef daily. And they bake their own rye bread. Awesome! Can’t wait to come back.

Don’t go here for breakfast if you are hungry. More importantly and most disappointing is the level of service or lack there of. Woman at the front is extremely rude and could careless.

12.95 for a cold roast beef sandwich on cold bread totally stale! Cold freezer burn French fries. Horrible service! Long wait when no one was in the entire restaurant. The man taking my order kept repeating it back to me wrong over and over again. Two simple sandwiches he didn’t understand anything we said! I am SHOCKED this place is in business it is Awful and I would honestly rather starve then eat this crap! Do not go here!

We used to go to this place often. It was more of a ma and pop place where they came to our table, took our order, brought us pickles, and kibbitz(small talk) with us. We went there the other night and we had to order at the counter. They brought our food to us but it took 30 ish minutes and no kibbitz. We ordered a corned beef sandwich on sourdough. When it came the bread wasn’t grilled, not even toasted. The sandwich was completely dry and the bread was falling apart. I chose to eat just the meat which was very lean and tasty. The pickle that was on the plate was tasty as well, as we remembered. They didn’t come back to see how we were doing either. Very disappointed. We won’t be going back.

If you want a sandwich that resembles expired canned dog food, please come to this place. My friend and I entered this establishment expecting at least decent food and decent service. Instead, the waitress and owner stared at us for the majority of our meal. We both ordered a chicken salad sandwich with chicken soup for $ 18 dollars a pop. The chicken soup tasted like it came out of a can, slightly sour and strange tasting, and the sandwich… no words. The salad was one lump in the middle of two pieces of bread, not even spread out evenly. Then the side of white bread, tasted oddly sour and hard. The server was nice. But not nice enough to compensate for the staring and the horrible food. When we came home an hour later, both of us had a small case of food poisoning(neither of us ate anything else except the food from this place). For $ 18/person, this almost ruined our day. I definitely would not recommend.

Wow! Rude!!! My family and I stood in line for several minutes waiting for our turn. The lady at counter finished helping the people in front of us. We walk up… and she makes no eye contact. She walks from behind the counter and leaves. You heard me, leaves! Not excuse me I will be right back. Or, can you please wait a minute. Nope just left us standing there… racist people are a menace to society.

Just got the Amazon something smoothie. The worker blended it for about 4 min while she helped another customer. The customer even said it was fine to finish the smoothie before she was helped. The worker said«It’s ok.» The smoothie was warm, watery, and bubbly. We took it back and said it was warm. She tossed some ice in and blended it back up. Now it’s nice and watery and chunky. Save your money and don’t come here. Used to work at a smoothie bar and that’s not how you treat a smoothie. Remake it.

Yuk. I mean, really … yuk. Don’t waste your money. The service was not very friendly, but the food was much worse. My son got pancakes and I still can’t figure out how you make pancakes taste bad. I got scrambled eggs and biscuits with gravy and I couldn’t even eat it(and trust me, I like almost everything). When they put the plate down, the smell of the biscuits and gravy was awful … and they tasted just as bad. And eggs! Again, how do you make scrambled eggs taste bad??? It’s eggs, and you stir them up as you cook them! I didn’t know you could mess them up! I can’t even remember what my husband had but he said it was just okay. I’m shocked that a place in this location would be this bad.

I am going to give this joint a 5 for ambience, warmth, friendly service every time, and because it is open 24 hours and, yes, there is a crowd at midnight. It is happy and noisy and partied out and… Who cares about the food at 1:00 am (It is what you expect… Great cheeseeeee fries and steak chili)
