Love this place! Val is an amazing person & I love her facials! She really cares about you as a person & your skin. She takes her time during the treatment & gives good advice on improving your skin so you look great. I highly recommend Rescue Skin Care!

I don’t even know where to begin! Val is amazing at what she does and doesn’t sugar coat anything which I love ! She completely transformed my face. I can’t believe some of the reviews I read because they must be just unhappy, never satisfied, always looking for something to complain about kind of people. Because this woman even gave me her phone number to send her pictures of my face progress and every time I broke out she told me to send her a pic. Tell me that isn’t a woman passionate about her job and who genuinely cares about her clients? She is awesome, give her a go (she’s booked out for months which also tells you something) you will not be disappointed I mean my face is flawless now and I can go with out makeup and it’s the most self confidence I have had in forever !!!

I’ve been coming here for years and this is by far my favorite place to have facials, waxing services, or massage. Val is my favorite, she’s amazing at what she does and is fun and relaxing to be around. Over the course of a year she continued to shape my brows, she doesn’t just clean up she works to improve the shape. She goes above and beyond, if there’s a stray hair somewhere she makes sure to grab those as well. She also consults about how to take care of your skin and is always giving pointers to make sure you get the best out of your visits for weeks to come. I’ve had several other girls for waxing services and they are all great too. It’s clean and relaxing and I’m always excited when it’s time to go back.

went in for my first time today and had an amazing experience. definitely better than what I’d expected. if you’re a first-​timer and you’re feeling hesitant, this is my thumbs up. (also, ask for Kate! she did an awesome job with my Brazilian. almost painless in comparison to where I’ve been in the past)

Although the staff here is nice and competent, the owners refuse to speak directly with customers or address when they are unhappy. I have never been so rudely treated by a business owner when I wanted to discuss my issues regarding their services. Not sure how someone can stay in business when they treat their paying customers so badly. Unbelievable!

What more could I say than VAL is amazing. Her facials are such a treat and she always helps educate me on what to do and what not to do or use on my skin. Skin rescue is always clean and welcoming, val is always such a sweetheart. It shows that she loves what she does and cares about her clients!

I actually work in this shopping mall. I walked in to get some information and pricing and did not get a great first impression. Front desk was very unprofessional laughing and joking with other co workers. She was very childish and couldn’t give me prices. Instead she handed me a brochure and stated «Its all in there» as she continued talking to other employees. There was even someone who was seated and waiting to be called back. After reading the below reviews I will never step foot in that place. I believe all of them. Now I just walk by and laugh at what a joke this place really is.

I really enjoyed my experience there. Kristen did my Brazilian and she was great. I highly recommend her. It definitely hurt less and I liked the wax they used. I’m a professional cosmetologist so it’s hard pleasing me lol so go there! Also they do not take tips on credit card so make sure you have cash to tip.

This review is long over due! I have been seeing Val for two years now and she is amazing! From facials to Brazilians to brows she is a an all star expert at what she does! I have recommend family and friends to see her and they are now long time clients! Thank you, Val! Your the best!!!

Indira is a wonderful esthetician! She is professional and talented, and, most importantly, she truly cares about her clients and their needs. She has rescued me from terrible eye brows! I would highly recommend Indira.

Val is the girl. Facial and a shoulder massage once every 5 weeks!!! The staff is excellent!

Ha — This is a joke right? You really treat your customers like this? It’s actually pretty pathetic and immature that you can not take any criticism for your business and expect to grow. Especially with the disgusting attitude you have in your responses (to paying customers) reviews. Do you understand that ever since I wrote that review I have had 6 different customers contact me regarding how horrible your company is? You also went through Unilocal corporate to make sure that a picture I posted (which you thought was a before and after — was actually two different lightings so you could see it) was taken down. It makes me wonder how much is actually true on this Unilocal account if you have reviews/​pictures taken down. Unilocal contacted me and said I could write about this… so don’t bother trying to get this post taken down too. ;) Honestly I feel like a moron for even replying back to you because I shouldn’t waste my time… but I have had too many people asking about my experience. So here it goes (my reply to your attack — I’ll make sure to keep it in numerical order as you have done so as well):
1. This advise came from one of your estheticians which I clearly remember because the esthetician would not shut up about all your products during my service. If you are in the skin care industry you of all people should know the benefits of natural organic skin care products. It wasn’t two white bumps… they took over the entire area where it was waxed. If you didn’t have my pictures taken down, you would have clearly seen that. The days after, I used my skin care products I ALWAYS use religiously — I’ve never had a reaction before to it.
2. Yes, it was 4 years ago at the time because I used to live in Laguna Niguel. I moved up to Costa Mesa and fell in love with my esthetician up there. I moved back down to Laguna Niguel and still drove the 45min to an hour trip to see her, but then she left. That is why I came back to your facility because I wanted to try a different esthetician. I did say that she was great and that it didn’t hurt at all. It was the after math that made your services horrible. The wax was obviously too hot the last time I went. I was not exaggerating when I tell you I almost passed out — that’s how insanely poor the service was and how excruciating the pain was! Please don’t give me your «professional opinion» on what is best for me when you have not personally worked on me. I have the highest pain tolerance level and that was not the issue.
3. I planned this out perfectly and got my waxing done the same length of time that I usually do. No length of time would have prevented this catastrophe from happening in this case.
4. I called once and got a voicemail during open business hours literally the next day! –I made a fair effort to contact this business regarding my issue. I then went to Unilocal where I wrote my experience in an almost apologetic tone because I never write bad reviews.
5. I will happily go over this for you so that you can in fact learn from this lesson: Softer hair follicles release hair more easily (I am sure you know this); When you exfoliate you are helping to rinse away dirt, oil, sweat and any other crap that will help the hair stay glued into place. After I exfoliate I put «ORGANIC» non-​clogging lotion on the area that is free of any irritants, chemicals, and harsh ingredients. By doing these two simple steps I have softened my skin and removed dead skin cells which helps the wax stick directly to the hair and not to the dead skin — Making it a much less painful and cleaner experience. I even made sure to plan this two weeks before my period so it wasn’t as sensitive down there. This just seems so logical I’m surprised you needed me to explain this to a «professional».
My suggestion for the future: Don’t be so judgmental, rude, and down right mean to your customers. We are trying to help your business by providing feedback to improve. If we didn’t care we wouldn’t take the time to give advice. This should be a tool you use to improve your company… Not insult your customers and have them hating you. You look incredibly unprofessional and uneducated when you respond the way you do. I hope that clarified my experience a little bit better for you and for all your unhappy customers who have reached out to me.

I just wanna thank Val for saving my terrible face and for the great service i got in this place! Since first second they made me feel home. I simply found it in Unilocal because i just moved to oc and needed to do facials. Needless to say how scary is to change your estetician and go to a new one. But i am so happy i chose Rescue. I usually see Kristen for my waxing and she is awesome. She is very friendly and clean. I’ve always had a good experience here.

This place is super unprofessional! BEWARE the owner likes to say that negative comments come from fake accounts. I’ve been on Unilocal for many years and reviewed many businesses. The owner yells at his customers and the service is mediocre. I’ve had many facials there (under my maiden name) and the facial itself was alright. If you enjoy terrible customer service, ok facials and upwelling of product and services, then GO HERE. Now let’s wait and see what the owner fires back with.

My interactions with the front desk staff and other arithmeticians in this studio (and the one in Ladera Ranch) have always been professional and friendly. I’ve only gone Valerie for waxing (bikini and brow) so I cannot speak for the other waxers. However, I would assume a great waxer/​owner would take all possible steps to to hire waxers that are just as good and professional.
I began seeing Valerie for waxing before my wedding in 2012 and have stuck with it. She talks you through the whole process so you never feel surprised by a sudden removal of hair and even tells you when to take a deep breath to prepare for a particularly sensitive spot. My waxing generally takes only 15 – 20 minutes.
This studio uses a «soft wax» which I think goes on a little less hot that traditional hard wax and in my opinion hurts a tiny bit less as well. I’ve also tried sugaring and I still will vouch for the benefits of soft wax. The waxer is able to do smaller sections at a time with wax versus sugar paste and that in itself is a blessing.

I have been using Joy since I discovered waxing, she has made me a true believer that Aestheticians really know best when it comes to skin care, and she is top notch!
I followed her here to Rescue and will never leave. The place is small and I feel catered to by all of the staff. The front desk people are true servicing professionals AND they are very reasonably priced. I go at least every three weeks and look forward to it each time.

I originally went in to see Kristin right before my wedding for my first ever Brazilian wax. I was SO nervous! But she did such an amazing job — she works with very small sections to minimize pain and ingrown hairs, and she talks to you the whole time which is very helpful for distraction!
I was only planning on getting waxed for my wedding… but that was over three years ago, and I have been going to Kristin ever since. I moved to Northern California and tried one esthetician here, and my experience only proved that Kristin really is the best. Now I just have to strategically plan my visits to see my Socal friends for every 6 weeks! :)
On another note — I know there have been some comments and complaints about the management. I personally have never had anything but positive interactions with them. But regardless, remember that your one star reviews aren’t just hurting the owners — they’re also affecting the amazing girls who are on staff. Keep in mind that it’s a skin care and waxing salon, and that’s what should be reviewed. :) Those girls are super skilled and they work REALLY hard!

Yeplers — take your business elsewhere. I think the business owners replies speak for themselves. There is no way this place really had 4 and half stars. Do not come here!

It is highly unprofessional to accuse a client of using a fake profile/​name because they didn’t like your services. You have harassed every person here who has a written a bad review of your salon. I suggest you message people privately to fix the situation because these angry responses of yours are doing more harm to your business than a couple of negative reviews.
You were not in the treatment room, you have no idea what went on there, sometimes employees do things they aren’t supposed to do. I cannot say anything regarding your inability to find anyone with the name of «Theresa» in your books. You should be more concerned with the waxer who was double-​dipping.

This place is wonderful! I bought a Groupon for both myself and my mom for a nice day out to celebrate Mother’s Day.
Rescue Skin is in a major shopping center and is really easy to find. The store is clean and the front desk girl is friendly. My mom and I had a 7:15pm appointment on a Friday and we got in right on time. I was worried that we wouldn’t get our full 60 minute facial since the door said they close at 8pm M-​F, but we did get our full time.
The girl who did my facial was wonderful. She was gentle (even when picking out the blackheads) and she worked well on my sensitive skin. She also gave me a great upper back, neck and head massage. I love how the room was dimmed during the procedure, this made me really comfortable and relaxed! I was so comfy, I almost fell asleep a few times!
After the procedure, she gave me a few tips on how to work on my sensitive skin and what not to use. She left me a cup of water in the front lobby too. Sweet. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience here. My mom was happy with her procedure too and I believe I got her hooked to facials now!
The only downside of this place, is I originally wanted to come in on Mother’s Day — Sunday — since this was my mom’s Mother’s Day gift. But, when I scheduled the appointment, they claimed they weren’t open on Sunday’s. Which is cool and I scheduled Friday evening instead. But, when we came in Friday evening, their door said they’re open 7 days a week. Weird. Also, our appointment time was originally at 6:45pm, but last minute they changed it to 7:15pm, which wasn’t a biggie for us, but it may have bugged other people. Also, if you make appointments for more than 1 person at a time, they make you leave a CC number just in case you don’t show up and they’ll charge it the full amount. Good incentive not to flake!
All in all, this place is great. I’ll for sure be coming back. They also have another location in Ladera Ranch if that city is better for you!
