Avalon Danbury

I set up an appointment to see a one bedroom apartment on Jan 2016. I met Gaby at the office she set me up with all the information, asked what I was looking for, very helpful, we went to see 2 one bedroom apartments that were available. I knew right away I wanted to live here because prior to coming up here from NY, I was apartment hunting on Long Island, but everything I saw there was too expensive and small.
The drive up from NY is beautiful, open roads, beautiful scenery, open space, cleaner air, drove into the complex, very clean, buildings and grounds are well kept, you don’t even know there’s an apartment complex here, its like hidden away…
We went to see the 2 apartments, I knew right away I wanted to live here. I told Gaby which one I wanted, we headed to the office, did all the paperwork, I was moving in the following week.
Now I have a place I can call home. I feel safe here very quiet, clean, all the shopping is within minutes away very convenient.
Everyday I come home I smile, knowing that the choice I made was a great one.
Gaby and the rest of the staff were excellent, very welcoming and helpful, maintenance men are very good and courteous…
Nice amenities, Gym, pool, dog path, parking spaces, garbage area, mail boxes, storage rooms. I’m very happy with the choice I made…

Avalon Danbury is a beautiful apartment community. Have not had a single bad experience yet from touring, lease-​signing, move-​in, to actually living here. Leasing office staff is incredibly helpful and always available. Alice in particular has been fantastic. In my opinion and from experience, best value in the state of CT!

Moved a little over 2 weeks ago — good first impression. Nice grounds that are well maintained. On move in the apartment was spotless. The large windows and the layout makes the apartment feel spacious. Having a full size washer and dryer in the unit is a plus. The place is very pet friendly and has a reasonable amount of dog stations which are always stocked and I must say everybody seems to clean up after their dogs. I haven’t had a problem parking. It has a nice pool and gym. I have a second floor corner apartment so the only real noise I get comes from upstairs. They have kids up there and you can hear them bouncing around it doesn’t bother me, but I can understand how noise could be an issue for some people especially on the ground level. I did have to call maintenance about something but they were quick efficient and a pleasure to deal with. There was follow up from the office afterwards to be sure I was satisfied. Safety is not an issue and the location is convenient to everything. I plan on revisiting this review after I’ve been here 8 or 10 months. The bottom line for now is after 3 weeks I’m pretty darn comfortable and starting to feel at home.

I lived there for (1) year,
The Good:
Beautiful scenic area. Always parking. GYM! pool. Beautiful landscaping. Location.
Maintenance prompt. Maintenance guys nice. There are (2).
The Bad:
Extremely THIN walls and ceilings. I think they do this on purpose! so new tenants keep coming in. If someone lives above you, good luck! I rented the apt. on the lowest level, meaning, not first floor, but below that and I actually loved it because there was only me and 1 other tenant and I had a second door in my apt. which lead to the outside, which was nice. And both tenants have an outside back door to go in and out, or we could go up the stairs to the first floor. I’m not sure if the other tenant had a direct door in his apt. to go out of, but I did and loved it. However, the tenant above us was very loud and actually I’m not sure that it was the fact that they were loud, rather than very bad sound proofing. This is the main reason I left.
The noise was not tolerable.
Bathrooms have vinyl floors (cheap) and really thick caulking. Not nice looking.
Kitchen, same thing vinyl floors.
If anyone is outside your window, you will hear them chew gum, the walls (again) are so thin.
BEWARE: no matter how clean you are, understand that they WILL take a small portion of your deposit to clean the apt. They have to clean the carpet, so either they do it, or you pay someone else to do it. No matter what, you ARE NOT getting all of your deposit back. Even if it’s a small amount.
The office: They’re ok.
Anyway, there is the gas station (open 24 hours) within walking distance and complex is near ALL the shopping! and eateries! location is great!

I made an appointment thru their central office on 5÷22÷2013. The lease office was closed when I got there. They were off for the whole day. How did the central office get me an apppintment? Where did they get the confirmation? Wonder where they are. Probably offsite training on how to satisfy customers.
