Stay away from this company and its owner. I have never been driven to write any negative experience on Unilocal until today. Unfortunately I did not read reviews on this company before hiring them. I only ever dealt directly with the owner Greg, who at first seemed very nice and professional. We booked an appointment for that Wednesday between 9 – 12. I called to confirm on Tuesday night, no one answered, nor did anyone call me back.
I’m located in California so I called Wednesday morning just to make sure he got into the unit ok and still no answer. I left 3 messages that day. I finally received a call that evening from Greg telling me that he never made it to the unit because he had a family emergency. I wasn’t sure why no one else from his company could have simply called me to let me know that no one would be coming, but I was very understanding and went ahead and rescheduled for that Friday.
Greg showed up, said he fixed the small washer and dryer issues and all is in good working condition. I asked him if I could go ahead and send him a check through my BOA bill pay. He agreed since I said I would send it out that day.
Later when I went to set it up on my bill pay, I realized I needed the business address so I went back online to the companies website and realized that they have a 15% discount for new customers. Because I’m located in California, I decided to just call Greg about in the morning since it was after hours on the East Coast by this time.
So the next day I call Greg and asked about the 15% and he said he already included it in the bill. I knew this wasn’t true and asked him why it didn’t reflect on the bill? He raised his voice and said it was taken care of on the bill. I didn’t want to argue and I had no price list to prove that I actually was given 15% off the total bill so I ended the call with a thank you.
Within 10 minutes he called back and said he would give me the 15% off because he in fact did forget to give it to me on the bill. I figured he didn’t want to seem dishonest.
I sent the check THAT very second we hung up, which was only 1 day after service.
The check was to arrive in one week from BOA on April 28^th.
Today at 5:24 am Pacific time, Greg is calling me but leaves no message. He then calls again at 11:11. I returned his missed call and he wants to know when I sent the check. I told him that my bill pay says that it is scheduled to arrive today. Bank of America can sometime be a day delayed so if he didn’t receive it by tomorrow, please let me know. He thanked me and everything seemed to be fine once I assured him I sent the check a week ago and it was on its way.
Then about an hr and a half later, out of nowhere he starts sending me text messages. Really unprofessional and sarcastic texts. Lecturing me on how he wouldn’t go to a supermarket and tell them he’s gonna send them a check in a week. How its not fun to chase money. That he should have run my credit card that day. That he’s aggravated and has trust issues. And when I brought up the fact that he didn’t even show up for the first scheduled appointment, his response was to say, «Too funny, a no show» «There is nobody even living there.»
I personally didn’t see why it mattered if the home was currently vacant or not, but I guess he figured it was ok if he didn’t show up for the appointment because no one lived there anyway? That’s just unprofessional and down right NUTS!
So I sent him screen shots of my BOA bill pay so he could see for himself that the check was just hours away from arriving safely and asked him to please stop contacting me.
I will NEVER use his company again and will certainly warn others of my very strange and unprofessional experience I had with A+Appliance.

I hardly ever write reviews but wow, here goes. I got referred to this company through the Home Adviser page and got a quick response from Greg, the owner. I didn’t like his demeanor over the phone but booked an appointment, my bad. I then saw all these reviews and decided to reach out to my own network of friends and was referred elsewhere. Had a really lovely call with another company so I decided to go with them instead. I called to cancel with Greg (2 days before the appointment so it’s not like he’s on his way). And was called a F*&#%ing idiot and hung up on. Nice guy.

I submitted my problem through a community resource website and was called very fast. II have a front loading washing machine that cost $ 1600 new and I told him what I thought the problem was. I suspected either a bad rear bearing or broken Spider (I was right). They told me they fixed a lot of this kind of thing every week, more than anybody. They show up a couple of hours later, Greg and his uncle and proceed to confirm what I thought. Now hes telling me its a 6 hour job and cost $ 1200 and that they dont do that repair. $ 85 thank-​you very much. He could have told me during the call that if it was what I said, they wouldnt do that repair. I would have saved the $ 85. I feel ripped off and would not advise anybody to use them. Had he not called me, I would not have used them but I needed a fast solution. The fast solution is a new washer. Front loaders are a problem and I will never pay $ 1600 for a high end washer again. Its not worth it when they break, nobody will work on them

I couldn’t get them out of my house fast enough. They made me feel uncomfortable in my own home. They were very unprofessional. His assistant smelled like an ash tray and while the owner was quoting me for higher charges he took a call and walked out of my house.
The owner tried to convince me that I needed a new dryer which he seemed to know how I could get easily or a series of high charges for what he considered a temporary fix. I paid his service call fee for $ 85.00 and invited them to leave.
Later after buying an 18.95 repair kit and watching a YouTube video my dryer is fixed and works like the day I bought it no thanks to A+ appliance. I only wish could get them barred from Hanscom as they are unprofessional predators!

Do not use this company!!! The guy (I think the owner) was rude and tried to talk me into work that did not need to be done. He over charged me big time and tried to talk me into fixing something that probably was not necessary. There is a 15% discount for new costomers and the guy swore I used him before. I think I would remember working with someone this bad.

Extremely rude and incompetent — collected the money and refused to fix his own errors.
My washing machine has been non-​functional since A+ Plus Appliance Service & Repair came in to repair it initially on August 9^th and then again on August 20^th (to replace the defective switch they had installed on August 9^th). I paid them $ 250 for the visit to replace a lid switch (its retail cost is $ 37), which only worked for one cycle and then stopped working. After several wash cycles since the second time they replaced the switch, the washer stopped working again.
I have been trying to resolve the issue ever since — when I try to talk to him, the guy yells at me with outbursts of rage and anger and denies any responsibility for his work. In addition, he is blaming me for the failed job he did. Last time we spoke on the phone about this issue, my friend heard the conversation and he was appalled by the rudeness, anger, and accusations the repair man made toward me. I called several times yesterday trying to resolve the problem — he hung up on me every time. Three months and $ 250 later, the machine is in the same broken state as it was before I hired them.
I very much concur with other reviewers on guy’s attitude, inappropriateness and his anger issue. His behavior was abusive on several occasions that I had to intervene and remind him that I was his customer and his behavior was largely inappropriate. I have never encountered such a poor service in my life.
It is simply unacceptable to charge $ 250 without fixing the issue they came to fix and deny any responsibility for it.
I will be filing a claim in small claims court for the damages associated with their service. Never use this company!

They came and repaired the washer. Like others have said overcharged and when questioned became rude and almost abusive. Seemed to have an anger issue. Im sure i dont want them in my house ever again! Like another reviewer states I wish I had seen these reviews first! BTW this guy has an F rating from Better Business Bureau. Well deserved!

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! Shoddy work and they refused to correct their own errors. They were called to repair a combined washer dryer unit installed in a closet in a bedroom. They charged $ 350 to repair the washer unit.
The washer worked perfectly, however when they reinstalled the unit they pushed the washer/​dryer too far back, crushing the dryer exhaust hose and pulling it out of the vent. A load went into the dryer and the room was closed due to the noise. When we opened the door it was like a steam room inside. The freshly painted walls were ruined.
We complained and they scheduled a return visit between 9 and noon the following Monday. I waited all morning and the never showed up. When contacted, the owner explained he forgot to write the appointment down.
When I explained that I could see the vent was not connected to the exhaust hose, he denied any responsibility, claimed the installation was too tight and told us they will not come back and fix it and that they didn’t want anything to do with any future problems. They also claimed they were experts in these types of combined units. They were clearly incompetent, and not will to live up to their obligation to reinstall the unit in working order. This seems to be typical for these clowns, based on earlier reviews.
With a great deal of effort I was able to tilt the unit forwards and I discovered the vent hose lying on the ground. I was able to properly install a new vent hose of superior quality and the unit is working.
We will be filing a claim in small claims court for the damaged walls and reporting these people to the BBB. Contact me for any additional information and avoid making the mistake of hiring these imbeciles.

If I had only read these reviews first… Echoing what others have already said, these guys are rude & unprofessional.

These guys were GREAT! They came out fast and were reasonable. It was nice to have a local company who is reliable and will come out fast when you are having an emergency!

I was satisified with their work — they were able to come the next day, they were prompt, and they called when they were on their way.
That being said, I feel a little misled about the price, and when I called today to ask about it, Greg was a little rude. I told him I was just looking at the receipt and was surprised to see the service call as a line item on the bill. He had told my husband the service call charge (65 $) would be applied to the cost of any service we had done. We understood this to mean it would go towards any other charges. Greg said «Yeah, it was applied to the bill. It’s another charge». I said, I guess there was a misunderstanding and he started spouting off how much the work would have cost if we had used Sears, or some other vendor. I said «I’m not criticizing you, I’m trying to understand the bill», and he said «why didn’t anyone mention anything when we were there?». I repeated that I had just realized the discrepancy. He then snidely told me to have a nice day and got off the phone.
Anyway, I don’t appreciate the attitude, I think it was a reasonable question and he got defensive and testy with me. It’s a shame too, because I was happy with the work, but in this day and age, customer service matters too.

After reviewing appliance repair companies on Angie’s list I placed a call to A+ appliance. They were able to come out to my house and provide same day service, which I greatly appreciated. They were very nice and explained why they thought the appiance was broken. They performed work on the washing machine and everything appeared to be working properly, however the machine stopped working with 30 minutes after they left. They were kind enough to return later in the day and fix another part of the machine and again it appear to be working until we attempted to do a load of laundry after they had left.
This is where their service took a turn for the worse. The gentlemen I spoke with agreed to research the problem some more. I had to follow up several times before he returned my call and he told me that he needed to come take a look at the machine one more time to confirm that the part he put in was the correct part. We agreed that he would come over on the following Saturday morning because that is what worked with his schedule.
Come Saturday he never showed up at the house and did not return any calls. My wife and I waited around the house for the morning so we wouldn’t miss him and he never called to tell us he was not coming. I followed up on Monday and he didn’t apologize but just said that he wanted to spend time with his family that weekend. I don’t begrudge him for wanting to spend time with his family, but it was unprofessional to not contact me and tell me that he would not be able to come.
We then agreed that he would come out to my house that Friday to look at the machine. Having taken the day off of work on Friday to meet him, he AGAIN did not show up to do the work. Several calls to his office went directly to voice mail and have not been returned.
Update as of March 21, 2012: After posting the review above, I also emailed the company and asked if they would be willing to come back and remove the components they installed in my washer and return the cost of the parts. This would still compensate them for the service call and labor, but would allow me to recoup some money due to the fact that my washer was still broken. They did not respond to this email. I followed up with a second email indicating that I would be going to small claims court to recoup my money. They called the same day and scheduled a time to come out to my home, take the parts they provided and return $ 250.
They arrived yesterday and did exactly what they agreed to do. Both gentlemen were friendly and were quick with their service. They provided me with a check and we agreed that this was a fair resolution to this problem. Now that this experience is over I would still not recommend the company. Although they were fair in the way they dealt with me I needed to follow-​up on multiple occasions to get a response.
