Everyone is right about this place. I went there yesterday and sat with the only guy that works there. I was very unhappy. Some of my nails were pointing upward and the gel was bumpy. I’m the type that wouldn’t say anything but they came out so bad I couldn’t stand looking at them anymore so I went back to have them removed. I was worried that I would get stuck with the same guy because he killed me. He was so rough with the nail filer and the hand held electric filer that he made me bleed a few times. I hated the feeling of the nail filer cutting through my skin. All I could think of was how many people has he done this to before me with the SAME nail filer??. The germs!. Anyway I ended up just getting a manicure but he didn’t clean up my cuticles. Oh yeah the nail polished has already chipped. I should of just asked for my money back. I will never return to this place.

THE WORST!!! They weren’t open at 10 am when they were supposed to open, employees wandered in, not paying attention to waiting customers. The manicurist who did my nails acted like he could not have been bothered and made LESS THAN a half assed effort to do the job. My nails started to chip within 2 days. Would NOT recommend to my worst enemy.

Their pedicures are good but their manicures are horrible. Went in today and my nails aren’t even filed or even. Two fingers have smudges from the guy hitting my thumbs while painting them. He was so rough and didn’t even massage or lotion my hands after. Didn’t say a word the entire time either. I keep trying to like it but it never improves

I tried giving zero stars but I guess that’s not a thing. Whatever you do, don’t EVER go here. This place is so horrible, I don’t know how they’re still in business. I had the unfortunate pleasure of seeing the only guy who works there, he didn’t say hello to me, didn’t talk to me once, and was pissed that he had to give me a gel manicure. If you don’t like your job, QUIT! He was really rough with my hands and it was the most horrible unprofessional manicure I’ve ever received. I wouldn’t return even if I was given one million dollars.

I’ve been here a few times and always had a good to excellent experience. There can be a bit of a wait on weekend days, but you sign in and just sit and relax. It does depend on who you get, but I have never had any problems with them at all. I’ve gotten mostly pedis here, but last time I went I got a mani with the more expensive silver cap OPI stuff, as well as a pedi. So far so good, especially the pedi. The mani is just a little bit fuzzy around the edges; nothing I can’t easily fix myself. The salon is large, clean, and they get you in and out pretty fast although you will never be rushed. The same lady did both the mani and pedi so there is none of that awkward «Whom to tip» silliness when more than one person takes care of you. She did not seem to speak one word of English, besides the very minimum of «nail terms», not any problem for me, but I thought I would mention it because if you have any special needs it helps to know that you might have a bit of trouble getting that across. She was very sweet and definitely knows what she is doing, though. The prices are fair – what you would expect at a basic nail place. Some of these reviews are pretty dire, but hopefully with the new management they will be able to rise above them. Always sort Unilocal reviews by date. Who wants someone’s opinion from 2010 anyway?

When i got there they where laughing at home bad my nails are because i needed a fill and most of them where broken and the lady kept looking at them and she was whispering to the client she had. Then she told me to wait and sit. 35 minutes goes by and I’m still sitting there. The guy comes over and says that he didn’t have anytime for my nails and to come back tomorrow? I stormed out of there. They always have snobby faces on … Save a trip and don’t go.

This place is awful. Don’t bother wasting your money. I called two hours before they closed to see if they could do a manicure and pedicure, they told me that was fine and to come on in. I drive all the way down there, and first of all the guy at the desk looked at me like he had no idea what a manicure was and then said no one did manicures there and to come back tomorrow. Are you kidding?.. Then the girl who I spoke to came up and said «oh sorry we’re actually too busy, I’m the one you talked to on the phone». If you were too busy why’d you have me drive all the way down here? Not only that but some guy doing a pedicure looked up and laughed. I came there with 100 $ to spend and looks like you guys missed out on that for your poor customer service. I really can’t believe that just happened. Like I said, go somewhere where they’re actually considerate human beings.

DO NOT GO… save your money for basically anywhere else but here.
Personally, the worst bail salon I’ve been to. I’ve only gotten shellac twice before, but this was awful.
The color looks so watered down even when I asked for an extra coat made no difference.
It actually looks like a child painted it the detail is way off and it’s already chipping (I got it today)
They aren’t very friendly at all.
Just an all around terrible job. Wish I had the courage to go in and get my money back.

Everyone is right here… the customer service is just «lacking» for lack of better words. My friend and I actually scheduled an appointment and I went pretty late in the day. I got a manicure and during my manicure there were 3 walk-​ins and each time someone came in the lady doing my nails actually got up and left me mid-​manicure to go give them waxes. So, she left me just sitting there. Then the third time she left to go start someone else’s manicure. It was just really unprofessional and Ive had my nails done plenty of times and have never had anything like this happen.
Also, my friend said that the lady doing her pedicure had a timer on and the technician seemed to be rushing through it and when the alarm went off she like immediately ended. She felt uncomfortable that it was on a timer.

This place used to be so good and my most recent trip ruined it.
1. Walk in and see two ladies soaking in pedi tubs with no technicians in sight. (One lady complains to her pedi-​buddy when she’s done that it’s been more than an hour and she’s skipping her mani.)
2. Sister made two 5:30 mani/​pedi appts. Greeter has no idea what I’m talking about then asks me to wait.
3. I start my mani at 5:50 and then my technician leaves in the middle of it (for what I smell as a smoke break). Sister finally gets put in a pedi chair at 6:20 while her technician leaves to not only WAX another person’s eyebrows but also fix two previous customer’s bad pedi jobs.
4. While we are getting our pedis (Sister decides to skip a mani), technicians are laughing and talking to each other in another language.
5. Technician is not careful at all about my popped blister, does not give me a hand massage post mani, or give me a sugar scrub on my legs. (Edit: apparently sugar scrub — which is standard at ANY other place — costs $ 10 extra.)
Never coming back here — should have obviously read the reviews first. Recommend literally any other salon nearby (especially Nails & Lady).

My sister and I have been here several times, and until today we’ve had a great experience.
Thanks to the lady who did her nails, her bag was soaked through on the bottom with water from the spa chair. She had to remove all of the items, which were soggy and dripping, and actually ring out the bag (which was cloth and not lined or waterproof). The lady didn’t seem concerned or alarmed in any way, even when all the items were laid out on the manicure table because the bag was no longer useable. She continued to chew gum like a 12 year old girl, smacking it so loud I could hear it at the next station, like nothing was wrong.
When she relocated her to the station to sit and dry your nails, and carried over all her personal belongings that could no longer be carried in her bag, she forgot to bring her keys. The single male who appears to work in the place, who has been so nice to us in the past, brought them over and noticed a soggy gift certificate my sister had — which was for a manicure and spa pedicure. That is what we had both gotten. He semi-​rudely asked if it was hers, looked it over, and returned it to her.
The spa pedicure is $ 35. The manicure and spa pedicure is $ 37. So you can imagine our surprise when she gave him the gift certificate and he told her it was another $ 10.
What the eff?
Nowhere on their «menu» is there a $ 47 price for a manicure and spa pedicure combination.
NOWHERE.
And no apology for ruining everything in her bag, including your own gift certificate that somebody already paid money for.
Forget you. You are NOT worth it.

I stopped in for a pedicure on a Saturday afternoon, no appt. The place is really big with lots of chairs and manicure tables. It’s brightly lit and very new and modern looking. There was someone at the desk who greeted me right away and escorted me over to the pedicure chair where he immediately began to draw the water for the pedicure, adjusted my chair and turned on the massage. I was able to soak for a few minutes before the person doing the pedicure came over. I thought this was a nice gesture instead of having me sit in the waiting area.
During the pedicure, about ¹⁄₃ of the way into it, the person left to go do a mani and I had a new person. I barely noticed because I was engrossed in my magazine. The newer person gave the pedicure much more gusto than the first person. Both the other person and now this person asked me if I wanted a manicure too (upsell!) but I didn’t want to press my luck (see my other nail salon horror reviews) and stuck to the pedicure for a first visit. By now, I’ve confirmed to 3 different people, «basic» pedicure, no manicure.
On my way out, I was surprised to see the pedicure menu had a note that callous removal is not part of the «basic» pedicure. My basic included a 5 second slough with the sandpaperish-​block. No gel applied to callouses or sloughing of that area. However, the pedicurist spent about 15 minutes on a foot and leg massage with scented lotion.
All in all a good experience. I noticed the pedicure tools were shrink wrapped in sterilized packages, as were the flipflops. No blood drawn. The chair was super comfortable and the massage equipment worked great.
Minus one star since I think callous removal should be part of the basic pedicure, that’s a big reason why I go get a pedicure instead of the do-​it-​yourself job I could do at home. Oh well, they made up for it with the extended foot massage.
I will go back and try a manicure and if all goes well, I might change my review to 5 stars. The location is right next to the movie theater entrance. I think this is different than an older nail salon that used to be a few spots up.

ugh. gave this place a great review in the past that has to be deleted. I’m currently sitting in a broken pedicure chair with my feet in cold water waiting for my 10:30am appointment to start and it’s currently 11:10am. why make an appt?!? oh and I’m here with 3 friends (2 pedis, 1 mani) for my birthday and they are clearly not impressed…
11:26am update: am currently halfway through my pedicure and my lady gets up and says «1 minute» and goes in the back to do a wax for an impatient customer. are you kidding me?! my friend whose also getting a pedi is sitting next to me freezing with feet in cold water. manicure friend has not been acknowledged and is in waiting area.
11:40: 1hr and 10min later they can finally take my poor friend whose been waiting for a simple manicure. she refused (i wouldve too) and they didn’t even apologize.
11:56am: my pedicure is finally finishing up. couldn’t of happened fast enough.
I will never be back.

The post above was written on 2÷18÷13 when I got the pedicure, I just forgot to submit it to Unilocal,since I drafted it on my iphone. On 2÷20÷13 I started noticing a rash on my legs below my knees (where they touched for the pedi).
It is currently 2÷25÷13 and I was in the doctor this morning, diagnosed with a STAPH INFECTION. I am on two different antibiotics. this is no joke, and I’ve already contacted the BBB.
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

HORRIBLE service. Save yourself the lousy service and go somewhere else! I went in to fix a broken acrylic nail. The man behind the front counter said he would fix it. Not only did he did a horrendous job at getting the right shape for my broken tip, he didn’t match the size to the other correspondent nail. THEN he tells me that he doesn’t have the shade of nail polish to paint the nail that he «fixed» or should I say made worse! The nail polish shade that I needed to have on was light pink, which I spotted right away on the shelf. He deliberately did not want to apply nail polish to the nail, so I walked out with just the acrylic tip on, and NO nail polish on one nail. I WILL never go back.

Not bad! I have had bad luck finding a nice place that does nails in the north shore, every place I’ve gone to is not worth it. I went to this place after a movie. It was really nice. The leg massage was perfect, just what I wanted. I really enjoyed everything they did. The leats were comfortable and it works for me!

over all this was a good place, any place where they continuously talk in other languages in front of you makes you feel uncomfortable. But i did enjoy my pedi and so did my daughter. so if you are at the mall and need your nails done they are pretty good.

If you like wasting your time dealing with a comedy of errors — this is your place! Because there is literally no where on north shore open on Sundays to do nails I succumbed to the Liberty Tree Mall knowing they would be open. The Mall opens at 11am. I walk in at 1130am — its dead. So I say I want a shellac mani/​regular pedi.
I pick color. They confirm with me I want to match toes and hands. I do.
They do the cursory polish change and loofa of feet (which never seems to do anything except waste time). She does a good enough job and I’m happy about the nice straight file of the nail. THEN she goes to put my flip flop on with wet toe nails. She says «don’t move». So I dont… and oh wow oh gee she messes up her entire job on the right foot by dragging my tight flip flop over my toes (which have the toe separators in). So I’m not happy because now I have to sit AGAIN while she goes back and fixes all of them. WHY would you do this especially when I’m sitting for a manicure and it could wait? Are they as good as when they were first finished? Who knows and who cares at this point — but my irritation is building fast.
THEN I sit for the Shellac with another person. She can barely communicate English at all, she sounds deaf when she tries. Her TWO young children are racing around which is very soothing.
She confirms I want the same as my toe color. I say YES! Thinking she can use my toes as a guide to how what I want — seemingly simple! She begins the shellac. Immediately it’s weirdo time. She does ONLY my thumb on my right hand and then tries to mimic me putting only my thumb in the machine. That wouldn’t be so hard for me to understand (it’s not my first rodeo) but she was being SO bizarre about it — that I wasn’t «doing» what she wanted me to do so she was yanking on my hand and I was getting extremely frustrated. I finally figure out what she wants and do it. Then of course we have to do it on the other thumb too. But then… never again.
She does the base coat — then two layers of CLEAR. I kept looking at them and saying «that’s not color, that’s clear». She says «one more coat!» — so I think maybe something special is coming. So she does «one more» and shows me and I said «that’s clear. That’s not what I wanted. I asked when I came in if you had a matching color. Look at my feet, that’s not the same». This of course leads to frowny confused face and lots of giggling. I said «I’ll just pick out another color». So she leads me over to the polishes (which suck) and picks up THE MATCH and goes «you like «…She tries it on me and I said «that is what I ASKED FOR all along». Oh tee hee hee hee hee!!! She then proceeds to WIPE OFF my ONE NAIL with the 3^rd coat and gives me another 3 GLOPPY coats of what I asked for. She asked me probably 5 times «you doing ok»? ««are you ok» «are you ok»? I was so fucking fed up. It had been over 2 hours at this point, and it was getting busy cause people are waiting for ME to be done and STARING.
Anyway — like a tool I ask «did you wipe off the base coat?»…this then leads into me picking up the shellac base bottle and pointing and her getting all confused. I just said «forget it». She then says «Oh no honey!»…so take that for whatever that meant. She finishes and they look awful — paint is still all over my cuticles but I NEEDED to get out. THEN she says to me «I happy when you happy. You no happy I get scared of you!». I just stared at her. So when she said I was all done after my stinky lotion session I jumped up to pay.
Unfortunately she is also the one who rung me up. She says it’s $ 52. I give her my card. I said «Can I add the tip on or do I just write it on the slip». She goes «just write it». So I say ok. Then she says «how much for tip I add». I roll my eyes and say «how about $ 15». (It’s two people). She hands me a credit card slip for $ 55. I think SWEET I can get out of here w/​a $ 3 tip. BUT it can never be that easy — and she goes Oh heee hee heee hee «I overcharge you» and quickly slams $ 3 on the counter and says «give card back». I start to say «what is this $ 3 for — just ring up the rest by doing the extra»…I see the manager looking — everyone is staring… no one will help her or translate and she just keeps staring at me. Finally I pull out cash and add it to the $ 3 and say «HERE IS CASH lets just keep things easy» and left.
Bottom line — if you can’t communicate and have so much trouble understanding basics please get HELP.
