Monro Muffler Brake & Service

Gone downhill fast. I have been going here for years brakes and oil changes. I recommended them to people including family. I went in for my last oil change, first they had lost my appointment, no big deal I wasn’t waiting anyway. Then on the coupon I was to get a tire rotation, and fluid check, tire pressure etc. with the oil change. I marked my driver side tire because I was suspicious that the rotation was being done. They never rotated the tires, as soon as I got in the van I noticed the tire pressure light was still on so I went back in the guy said he checked them himself and the pressure was good. I drove over to Burger King parking lot and checked the pressure myself and I had a tire that was a low on pressure, put a little air in it about an hour later, light went out. I am done, I will find somewhere else to go. Sneaky and dishonest is not a good business practice.

Had my front and rear brake pads/​rotors replaced here by Colin. He was friendly, honest, and very knowledgeable. Colin thoroughly inspected my vehicle for other problems. He showed me a small leak in the transfer case under the car which was likely caused by a technician where I get the oil changed. I had no clue that my car was even leaking fluid. No worries. Colin took care of it.
The waiting area is a little dirty and assistant manager’s appearance is very sloppy, but I guess I’ll overlook that. I just think a business and its manager should take pride in their appearance, even if it’s a garage. I’ll be back to see Colin for my 105K mile service.

I went in for a flat tire repair. I booked the appointment online; they have extended afternoon hours so there’s time to come after work.
They called back to confirm my appointment and when I showed up they took my information down quickly and set to work. The repair was done in about 25 minutes (there were two other cars in the shop). I was very satisfied the time, and the staff was helpful. I would definitely come again.

Brought my car in for an oil change and after 30 minutes I noticed the techs having issues removing my oil filter and pacing around looking for tools they seemed to give up and put new oil after draining my pan without replacing the filter. My oil was still dirty on the dipstick, they used 5w 20 when my car asks for 0w20. None of my fluids were filled. Upon entering my car my steering wheel was slick covered in oil. When you pay 25 bucks for an oil change I guess you get what you pay for

I’ve been a loyal customer. They tell the truth. If not, Google it and call them out on it. Although managers come and go (miss some of the past ones) the mechanics are friendly and get the job done in a timely manner. They have a very basic DirectTV package (thx Tim!!) Better than nothing. It’s currently 12 degrees outside. Yo Where’s the heat… and did I really hear a dial up modem?!? It’s 2015! Like most places, call ahead!

I called earlier this afternoon and made an appointment for 4pm. When I arrived 5 minutes early for my appointment, I was told that they were slammed and could I come back tomorrow. I explained that I had made an appointment for a reason, and if they needed to reschedule, they should have called me so that I didn’t have to drive over here and so I could have made arrangements elsewhere. I do not recommend even attempting to come here for any reason.

Management got rid of Tim end of story. Not saying the guy who took his spot isn’t good but ain’t the same. All the positive reviews came from this guy, and what does management do. They force him out. Just another situation where the «man» sucks.

I had a horrible experience came in with a coupon and as soon as he saw it he treated me like I didn’t matter in the end he even found a excuse why he couldn’t do the service

I got a good deal for a muffler job $ 100 to install a muffler and exhaust pipe. you cant beat the price. Andy is the best.
i will definitely tell my friends and go back whenever i need some work done.

First off let me start this review by stating that I don’t work for Monro nor have a friend or relative working there, this is a legit review.
On the way home from a Maine vacation I broke down not far from the Monro location. Tim Overton (store mgr) sent one of his techs down the street to charge my vehicle and get it back to the shop.
He explained to me that he needed some time to assess the problem and suggested I go next door to a restaurant and wait. Within 15 minutes he walked into the establishment with a written estimate! I couldn’t believe he came to me!
After about an hour I walked over to see how they were making out (I needed an alternator). Tim apologized and told me he was personally taking my alternator to a parts store because none of his distributors had this particular part and he wanted to insure that it would match up correctly.
Again he apologized (not that he needed to) and off he went.
Within about 30 minutes he returned to deliver the bad news, no alternator match.
Back on the phones he went but not before he offered his personal car to me in case I wanted to do some errands! I declined, but again was blown away at the lengths this guy goes to keep his customers happy.
It was late in the day and I knew my chances of getting up and running were dwindling, and when I saw him walking towards me with his head down I knew. He (again) apologized and said he had exhausted all his suppliers — he had found 1 of only 2 of these parts in the state of MA, but it wouldn’t get there until the following day.
I asked about local hotels and although he suggested a couple not far, I decided on one about 5 miles away. I mentioned that I would call a cab company but he insisted on driving me.
I am a business owner that provides a service — my success is based on satisfied customers. Before I wrote this review I had a meeting with my managers to inform them about this experience. The whiteboard title was «How Can We Be More Like Tim». Thanks Tim and staff — none better I’m sure.

Good people, great service!
I came into Monro with a situation that needed immediate assitance. Tim, who was very busy, found time to fit me in immediately. My car needed a quick fix as the exhaust hood was dragging under my car. He fixed it in less than 10 minutes, and did not charge me a thing! It’s such a pleasure to come accross genuine, freindly and caring people! I strongly recommend Monro Muffler in Danvers to anyone looking for a good mechanic who will look our for your best interest!

Had my front brake pads replaced at Monroe. The job was done quickly, 20 mins from start to finish. They were courteous and things seems to have gone well. I had only one issue, which is an important one when deciding where to get work done. The price for the brake pads and installation that I was given when I called to schedule the appointment was not the price I was charged for the job.
When I arrived for my appointment I was told that the price given to me when I scheduled the appointment wasn’t available and it was going to cost me more for the pads and installation I was already there and had scheduled my morning around the appointment so I just went forth and had the pads installed.

the guy at the front desk was helpful. the prices are pretty good.
the place is pretty dirty and dusty and the TV doesn’t work. they have no shades so it’s too hot to sit inside.
but they do a good job on the car

Awesome! Walked in knowing I needed an oil change and brake pads (metal on metal sound every time i braked). Gave me worse case scenario: 4 pads and 4 new rotors… turns out only needed 4 pads and 2 rotors. Total cost was half of what my subaru dealer repair shop was going to charge me… and they did the whole job in just an hour!!! Great service, friendly, and fun! HIghly recommend.

Quick and thorough oil change, walked me through my «report card» on fluids, brakes, etc. For under $ 30 (with a Unilocal check in discount, of course!), this place is the tops.

While the Good Year in Salem tried to charge me $ 87 to replace a broken headlight, they only charged me $ 20. They were also friendly, courteous, and attended to me as soon as I walked in – the guy at the front desk was a pleasure, and there was no BS. Highly recommended.

Great guys and great service. Brought my toyota rav-​4 in for brakes and not only did they give a break on the price but they found that the car was so low on oil that there was virtually nothing left. Refilled the oil, fixed the brakes and did it all within 2 hours on a Saturday. They’re extremely professional and my wife and I couldn’t get over how courteous all the employees were. I highly recommend.

Fast oil change for $ 26 including the taxes. I’ve made appointments before going. Once there was no one else there, the other time, there was a line and they were turning people away because they were too busy.
They sounded helpful on the phone and with customers while I sat and waited in the waiting room/​front area. No entertainment or free coffee, so bring a book and water, though if you are just getting an oil change, it won’t take that long. If you had to wait for a couple hours, the mall is across the street, so there is stuff to keep you busy.
I’ll continue to go here for my oil changes. Maybe for repairs when the time comes. Everyone I’ve dealt with has been friendly and helpful.

These guys are great! They give us suggestions for preventative work, but we never feel pressured to fix something that doesn’t need it. We just got our brakes fixed here (all new pads on both axles) and an oil change for $ 250. We had an estimate at another mechanic who told us just the front axle needed pads and rotors for $ 450. Monro let us know the rotors didn’t need changing at the time and that’s a huge help!
