With nearly 70 years of experience, CastleLite Block, LLC has the experience and knowledge necessary to get the job done right. Established in 1947, our business has a strong history of helping residents and businesses across Northern California. If there was a six star rating system, CastleLite would deserve a 9! Starting with initial meeting with Steve (salesman/​project advisor); we spent ~two hours of quality time going over our expectations and specs and we couldn’t have been happier with his design insights and recommendations. His genuine human relations skills and knowledge were so outstanding that I would eventually cancel two other bids because his proposal was what I had expected to pay and within our budget for replacing and extending our walkways.
The project started at the promised time. The demolition crew did an outstanding job preparing the site for installation. I can’t say enough good comments about the install crew, who earned and deserve a HUGE shout out. These guys were excellent — very dedicated, hardworking, and skilled craftsmen who applied their know-​how to deliver some very intricate results. They exhibited a lot of pride in their work.

We have attempted 3 times to get someone to come out and give us a quote. And three times we have received appointments that were no-​shows. Unfortunately I cannot give a review on the product because the company effectively refuses to take my business. It’s too bad because I really like the way their pavers look. Oh well, System Pavers here I come.

We used CastleLite for our retaining wall and patio pavers but we used someone else to do the installation.
Good product. I really like the look. We had a few issues but the owner was quick to call and speak with me and even did a site visit. He replaced some stones at no cost and even gave us a refund. Honest business.

I worked with salesman Steve on my patio project. After getting quotes from other contractors/​paver companies I felt they had the fairest price. He worked with me and answered my many many questions daily — even helping me with other areas of the project that I hadn’t thought of. The result is awesome and I can’t wait to enjoy my backyard this summer!

A couple years ago, our backyard was in pretty bad shape and needed a makeover. We ended up going with CastleLite Block because they were able to provide us with the best value. Their consultants (we have worked with both Derek and Jay) were easy-​going, presented us with some creative ideas, worked with us on our target budget, and were always available to answer questions. The foreman, Ricky, and his crew were courteous, efficient and hard-​working. They finished the project within the projected time frame and quality of work was excellent. The entire process felt stress-​free and hassle-​free.
Fast forward two years later (and part of the reason why I’m writing this review now)– after the first major storm since the project was completed, we noticed some water pooling around the back sliding door area. I contacted CastleLite and they sent Ricky’s crew back out to assess the situation and make the necessary adjustments. They showed up promptly and completed the job quickly and to my satisfaction.
When choosing a contractor, I want someone with a good reputation and someone who stands behind their work. CastleLite has gone out of their way to make sure I am happy, even after the project is done. I would not hesitate recommending them to others, and will definitely consider them for future projects.

I have been looking at doing a paver driveway for about one year and had 3 different contractors look at my project. CastleLite Block’s Salesman was Steve and he was very prompt in keeping his appointment (other contractors were not on time) and he some really good ideas about things I had not even considered. I just felt really comfortable with him and his ideas. I did not get a quote from one of the contractors, but CastleLite Block had the best quote and really liked the color select they offered so that is who I chose.
When the work started, they arrived on time and the crew was very courteous. They were very hard working and did an excellent job. They finished the project within a week, which is what they said would happen.
I would definitely recommend them and I will be using them next year to do my backyard. Great Company!!!

We worked with Steve in the Danville showroom. He provided us with excellent service. We’ve worked with many contractors who after the first meeting we only saw the workers. Steve came by multiple times to help us with changes and additions details we requested. We didn’t have an easy project, sloped driveway and steps. The finished work was beautiful.

Castlite removed and installed a new pooldeck, coping and sitting wall in Rodeo Ca.
Cons– Comunucation between customer and installers (language barrier) although very respectful and professional
Pros– Amazing workmanship, super tight cuts, Improvement of my design, grading and drainage perform great.
They were the lowest bid and I know there profit margin had come in pretty thin but they didn’t cut any corners. After comparing other paving projects from different companies throughout the community Im very satisfied with my decision.

I had done quite a bit of research before selecting CastleLite for my project. My project was my driveway. The salesman, Steve, was very professional, informative and helpful with creating our design. The project manager, Jay, checked in periodically throughout the job. Checking that we were completely satisfied with the progress.
But the real artists were the three men that did the work! They started at 8am on Thursday morning. First step: Demo of existing driveway. They completed the project Saturday by 130pm. The driveway is spectacular but the real jewel is the front porch.
For me, this was an expensive purchase. System pavers was $ 6000 more and I didn’t care for the choice options of pavers. I am very happy with my decision to go with CastleLite. No regrets or worries.

John Espinoza, the General Manager became aware of our dissatisfaction. John is a great guy to work with. He agreed with most of my issues and sent a different team out fix the problems without charging any add’l money. The second team was far better than the first team. They replaced a number of broken pavers and redid the entire driveway. They did an excellent job the second time around. I’m not sure I can recommend CastleLite without any reservation, but if you work with the right people there, you’ll be pleased with the outcome. And to the Company’s credit they stand by their work.

We contacted 4 highly rated contractors to review and hear what they were all about. The first company, system pavers, had a good story but was double the bid of the other 3. We went through the process with the others and felt castlelite pavers in danville, with their own paver factory, were the best choice. Their sales guy Steve arrived on time and walked us through the process. He brought ample samples for our review and provided suggestions and ideas. He also provided a number of jobs their crews completed to help us decide what would work best for us. From demo to excavation to pavers and their artesian skills and design, we couldn’t be happier. The pavers transformed our driveway and walkway into an elegant and lovely setting. Very functional as well. I would highly recommend their danville team.

After looking at driveways for several years and collecting information about different companies we went with CastleLite and couldn’t be happier with our decision.
They installed a sloped driveway, front walk, stairs entry/​patio, and side walk around the house. This involved demolition work as well as covering existing cement work. Any questions we had were immediately addressed and if needed reworked. Our home is beautiful with its new pavers.
The best compliment is that our neighbors who lived through all the construction, saw the final product, were so impressed that they had their driveway done. Again, beautiful work and it is wonderful to be able to see the difference pavers will make to a home. Then another friend who also has a sloped driveway went with CastleLite and they couldn’t be happier — and their driveway and walk couldn’t look better!

We recently completed construction on our new custom home in Westside Danville and elected to use CastleLite Block for our entire hardscape which included over 4,000 square feet of pavers (driveway, side yard, stoops, back yard) as well as retaining walls and a french drain. We could not be happier with the end result.
We dealt with many subcontractors on this project and without a doubt, I have to put CastleLite at the top of the list. They showed up when they said they would and attacked the job with full force. Ricky oversaw the entire installation and his crew worked harder than any other sub we had on the job. If I ever had questions or needed anything, he was available.
The Owner personally came out to review our overall landscape/​hardscape plan and came up with much better ideas than our landscape architect did for how to handle the grading and setup in front of our garage and on our side yard. This didn’t cost us a dime but the assistance was priceless. I will forever be grateful for that.
I also love that they have a showroom in Alamo next to Ace Hardware so you can go touch and feel the products for yourself. I can’t even tell you how many people have complimented us on our driveway… it looks amazing.
Frankly I’m stunned that anyone could have given them a one star review and after reading that entire review/​follow up along with my firsthand experience, it is pretty obvious the customer cut corners and didn’t follow the recommendations.
I highly recommend this company, they do it right. The bottom line is they are Diamond Certified and you don’t get that designation without going through am exhaustive interview process of hundreds and hundreds of former clients. You will not be disappointed.

Avoid at ALL costs!!! After a major installation around our entire pool, the blocks started to shift, crack and come apart after 4 months. There are gaps large enough to put my hand through now. When I called the owner to complain, he sent his forman out who said that there was «no drainage installed» and asked for another $ 12,000 to redo the job with drains.
I have had 2 – 3 people out to assess the work — including a soils engineer — and they all indicated that the pavers were not installed correctly (soil not packed underneath and no drainage). The rain water is running into our pool making it unusable. The entire job needs to be completely redone.
I hate posting a negative review (this is my first negative review on Unilocal after many positive ones), but this is the worst consumer experience I have ever had and we wasted over $ 15,000. Owner was unfriendly and unsympathetic. Please don’t make the same mistake I did.

After doing much research, we decided to go with CastleLite out of Alamo. This company makes its own pavers out of Dixon.
We had a great experience with salesman/​owner; John Espinoza and the demo/​install crew headed up by Ricky.
We had pavers installed in our two front driveways, front walkways and porch as well as in the backyard. Walls and columns as well as a custom mailbox were also created.
The style and color selection is very good.
The work has transformed the exterior of our home and we constantly get compliments on the look.
The customer service is wonderful and it’s always been easy to contact either Terry at the Alamo showroom or John with any questions.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone and, if given the opportunity, use them again.
