LT Evans Eatery & Drafthouse

This is a tricky review to write because the experience appears to depend on what night you show up. So long as it’s a slow night and the kitchen staff is competent you’ll get a solid meal. However the staff is the lynch pin here. They range from fine to unprofessional and will often put their own interests ahead of their job.
The food is nothing to brag about at all, short order steaks and the like. Again, they’re fine if the staff is on point that night. The pricing is straight out of a late night infomercial on how to maximize your business instead of reflective of real world expenses. Upselling is a big problem here.
Where it really shines is as a bar. It’s a relatively pleasant place to sit and have a mug in a town notorious for its lousy dive scene. (So long as there’s room. The actual bar is pretty small.)
I cannot recommend it strongly, nor would I actively deter anyone from going here. The pity is that this could be a genuinely great place if a little basic care were taken to shape up the staff and get some creative menu items on tables that are prepared by someone with some actual interest in the job.

Excellent food, good service, good all around sports bar. The place was clean and had a classy atmosphere. Waiter could have been more personable but he did give prompt service and was very efficient. All in all in was a very good experience and I would return.

Decided to give this place a second try in 4 years. Food and prices were descent. But I will not return because of our waiter. Who never checked back on us. Never offer more coffee or gave me time to ask. After dinner I finally asked and had to WAIT… While this married man «Matt» flirted behind the bar with 2 girls… Who even told him… You’re married you don’t have to worry about finding someone… He replied well you never know what will happen in life… Your wife could leave you. He kept bragging about pass gfs to them. When I finally got that last cup of coffee he cleared the plates and asked if we were done. We clearly said yes. THEY WERENT BUSY… And WAITED FOR THE CHECK! While he flirted and charmed these girls. I wanted to walk up to the bar and pay… I was getting mad! I understand this is not fast food. But we could at least have descent service.

I’ve eaten here twice, and while both meals were pretty tasty, both trips ended with me plastering my toilet with the unholiest of dookies. Also, our server this evening was not very good. She messed up a glass of water. Think about that for a minute, will ya? When she came back with the correct drink, she said it was a glass of «instinctual water.» I don’t even know what that means. I love supporting local restaurants, but I don’t think I’ll be going back to this place again.

Maybe I hit it on the wrong day. Maybe my expectations were too high based upon the Unilocal reviews I read.
Service — very good, but did not tell us of the upcharge on fries (who does that?)
Appetizer — mozzarella sticks that came from the «Friday’s» frozen food.
Burger — seemed to be a «Bubba burger». That is, it was bought frozen en masse and then cooked. Certainly not home made. But it was cooked to my likeness. Bun was good.
Fries — oh man, these were the worse I ever had. They were Ore-​Ida. They had been frozen, baked, refrozen and baked again. Awful! When the waitress came over to ask how the food was, we said the fries were uneatable. She asked if we wanted «fresh ones». Yeah, that’s what she said. We passed.
Since it was Halloween night, maybe the good cooks had taken the night off, leaving others less experienced to do the cooking. I could tell that everything, except the bun, had been frozen and reheated. I can do that at home.
The beer and the service was good. They took the upcharge on the fries off the final bill.

We were in Danville for a bowling tournament and the woman at the bowling alley recommended this place — and I’m glad she did. Had dinner here on a Saturday (prime rib), then came back on Sunday for lunch (baby back ribs) before travelling home. Both meals were awesome! There were 6 of us in our party and each had no complaints. It’s probably easiest to state; anything on the menu is very good. They have a nice selection of draught beer including a few local craft beers. The back bar was full of liquor bottles, ensuring just about any mixed drink you could want. Our waitress was pleasant, service quick, food served hot. Being less than an hour away, I can see myself taking a ride on a Friday night to return for dinner

Decent. Waitress was nice. We had the prime rib panini melt, very good. Drinks are cheap, I had a captain and coke, in a large glass for $ 4.25.

Every Wednesday they have a fish fry and it is amazing. Freshly battered haddock with hand cut fries! If you eat-​in it is all you can eat. If I order the fry, I do take out, which is still a huge portion of food. It’s a nice treat once in a while!
Their jalapeño poppers are also freaking awesome. As is their veg wrap! The service is prompt, and the restaurant is clean. Plenty of parking, out back and on the side.

What a great casual meal with great food and service. Visiting college in the area checked Unilocal and this place was close by. What a good find. Try the deep fried soft pretzels. Tremendous. Fantastic prime rib too. If my son goes to school here we’ll be back for sure.

I am a regular guest at this establishment. I have tried many of the menu items and can honestly say I enjoy everything I have eaten. My favorite is the vegetarian wrap!!! The deep fried pretzel is also amazing and there is nothing better than their homemade blue cheese!!! It’s to die for!!! I have enjoyed their wings, burgers, fajitas, and their soups as well!!! Be sure to ask what the soup of the day is!!! It can be a little bit pricey but you really do get what you pay for. Great bottled beer selection that’s is always changing and updated with the newest brews!!! Great beers on tap as well!!!

It was the same day I posted the review. The young man that greeted us at the door was great! But our server wasn’t very pleasant either.

I stopped here on the way back from Geisinger. My guess is, this is the case with most visitors from out of town.
There are several chains in the area. But I wanted a more local flavor. I weighed out a cheaper local diner, a mid ranger (this place), and a more expensive local brewery. I chose Evans because of its convenience, menu, and style of food.
First, let me say it is well marked and easy to find. There is ample parking all around the building. If the private lot is full, the place is probably too packed. But I am sure you will be able to find parking nearby, if needed.
There is an outdoor deck for nicer days. It looks well maintained and clean. It could be a nice hang out after work for a beer or drink.
They run nightly specials for drinks and food. This Monday night was 50 cent wings. So ask for those specials.
You can check the menu online, for yourself. This is always a big plus in my recently busy life. I really didn’t feel like ordering a platter so I went with a sandwich. The burger menu did look good, though. In fact, the entire menu looked fairly decent for a restaurant bar setup.
The prices were moderate. Some folks are living 10 years ago when they balk at the prices in places like this. Costs are out of control in this business so if you can’t pay, no problem. Eat fast food, stay at home, or pack some sandwiches for your trip. No shame in that.
I ordered the Reuben and upscaled it with some fries. I read positive reviews on the fries so I decided let’s give it a try, right?
I love Reubens. So I expect certain points to be covered.
Is the bread right? Check
Is the corn beef fresh and dripping a little bit? Passable
Does the sauerkraut taste fairly fresh or at least have a nice mild flavor and texture? Check
Is the sauce thousand island or a custom version of such? Check
So, the Reuben was good. Not the best I have had. I am still in pursuit of that perfect one. I would order it again.
The fries were fresh cut. Average homemade style fried but not overly greasy. They were not salted so I did such myself. I read that they will flavor their fries with Old Bay. I should have done this. I was slightly dissapointed but the serving was huge so points for that.
The beers on tap were normal selections with the Yeungling seasonal and Blue Moon mixed in. I ordered the Yeungling Octoberfest. Good stuff.
The service was good. I was seated by a young guy waiting for customers at the door. My waitress watched over me and made sure I had everything I needed. She answered all my questions and came back to check on me several times. No attitude. Just a good waitress. She even made sure I had vinegar and ketchup waiting at my table for the fries.
The ambience was bar casual. Not Saturday night at the bar but typical small sports bar restaurant. There was a great conversation, between a bar patron and the bartender, about Penn State and Eagles football that I was enjoying listening to. Including the latest betting lines.
Bottom line, I like Evans. I would recommend it to people that don’t mind this type of atmosphere. Maybe you are on your way back from the hospital and want a decent meal and a beer. It isn’t exactly a Vegan or Sunday after church place. Although the Sunday after church comment may be debatable. The food would be good with your NFL Sunday. Enjoy!

$ 12.99 for a chicken tender platter? That includes fresh cut fries and a tiny cup of applesauce. The tenders were supposed to be buffalo style and their buffalo sauce is more like BBQ sauce. Over priced and over rated.

Went there twice now and both times were a single star at best. Not sure what others like about it. Poor service, bland food and SLOW!

Deplorable and despicable attitude!!! I placed a to go order and had to cancel it because my mother had a medical emergency. The rude and inhumane person on the phone «asked what he was supposed to do with it» and then told someone «can you believe they f#cking cancelled the order». The other person said «f#ck also». I explained to him that I was now in the emergency room and told them it was a courtesy call to let them know I was not coming. I understand it was an expensive meal but that is not acceptable on any level. I am new to this area and will never go to this restaurant or encourage anyone else. You have to be a heartless, greedy, and completely unprofessional person to act in this manner. The entire situation is extremely disgusting and I have never experienced anything like this before.

Great wings and always a great selection of craft beers on tap! The menu has something for everyone. Every time we go service has been excellent. Also best Bloody Mary in town!

We went in on Saturday for a midday snack. We ordered a dozen wings and the big platter of fries. We definitely did not need all of those fries, but we got them and ate them anyway. We had the dry rub BBQ and they tasted like nothing except fried wings. The mild wings were delicious. The sauce was like a spicy BBQ and it was so so so good. The server even changed the TV to the Olympics so we could watch while we grubbed. Good times.

Only was there once last week but was impressed. Shared chicken wings as an appetizer. enjoyed them a lot. great taste. I had crab cakes and fresh cut french fries. The french fries just needed a little salt but no major complaints. We felt like family as soon as we went in. Our waiter was great. I believe he was the owners son. If we are in the area again we will be going back.

The atmosphere is good and service is adequate. Food is decent. They have a decent beer selection for the area. Nothing special but not bad either.

The best place in the area to get a beer and watch sports. Pretty good burgers and the fries are fresh-​cut instead of frozen.
