Beautiful, deserted beach perfect for long walks. Lots of shell fragments and sandpipers scurrying along the rolling edge of the tides. Only complaint was that the showers were turned off, so we had to shake off as much sand as possible before returning to our vehicle. Also, lots of beach trash in certain spots.

3.5 stars: I went the first week of October. My understanding is that the high season was over and so there were no concessions, plenty of unmonitored parking, no lifeguards on duty. One port-a-potty available. The beach was sparsely populated. The water was clear and pretty. I loved how shallow it was for quite a ways out into the water. The sandbar tempers big waves, which for me is a major plus. I saw a lot of jellyfish, both dead on the beach and alive in the water. The oil rigs on the horizon were certainly not picturesque, but my only serious gripe is there was SHARPGLASS in several places up and down this beach. I was pretty nervous about walking without sandals. For that reason, I would not recommend this beach for kids.

The beach was extremely dirty, the water was treacherous and we had to sneak in because it was closed. If I had a beach, I would clean it everyday. We drove all the way there from coastal Mississippi and we were beyond disappointed. Clean up your beaches Alabama!!! Ps. If you’re trying p get there in the next week or two please do yourself a favor and DONOT take 1 – 10!!! Take 90. Otherwise you will be stuck in traffic for fucking hours. Ugh.

This is a five star place for watching the sunset. The beach is part of a community of homes, right at the end of the street. It seems like a quaint beach, very long and winding for sunset walks. Offshore refiners turn on their lights at night and seem to twinkly gently. A great expanse of sky here and plenty of picture taking. At sunset, many blonde colored teeny tiny crabs scampered out in search of food from the rising tide. It was fun to watch them and marvel at their«miniatureness» qualities after gazing at a terrific sunset. On the causeway the post sunset view across the water is spectacular, drivers side. Don’t miss it.

Nice beach, was very empty and I love it haha We didn’t stay there long, the houses around was very nice. Didn’t notice any of the houses there used as hotel as tybee beach houses has. We crossed the street and the there was water on the other side too. Loved and can’t wait to have a house like this someday

This beach has a lot of shells, the kids had a great time playing the sand. Great to watch sunsets and for a nice long walk! During the day there were quite a few people fishing. No pets are allowed on this beach. This one doesn’t have as far of a walk the water either. We parked and watched the waves from the parking lot as the rain blew in it was cool.
