BEST PLACE! They have little snacks but If you want food they let you order from around the area and bring it in. 12 beers on tap and a ton more to choose from in the bottle. Great town hangout!

Best place EVER!!! There are so many different beers to choose from so there is something for everyone. They also have a great wine selection for those who aren’t beer fanatics.

Awesome place to grab a brew! The back room is set up with a sofa and foos-​ball table with rock-​em-​sock-​em-​robots. Takes me back to my college days… Always plenty of good beers on tap and even more beers in the coolers. Drink here or take some to go. But, with the atmosphere, I’m guessing you’ll drink at least one here.

Awesome beer. Awesome service. Sam is great and recommends the best beer. It’s low key and pet friendly, which is always nice.

Not bad at all, pretty good small draft selection of IPA’s. The cooler seems to be stocked with all sorts of variety. Haven’t seen much lost coast here but they had a few selections (west coast brewery). Cool atmosphere, not too busy you can’t find a seat and enjoy a cold one. Decent prices on the draft and nice eclectic mix of music, keeps ya guessing. No food here it it is available really close by, ask for a menu or look around at whoever is eating!
It was throwback 90’s when I stopped thru. This place is small but nice and quaint, and outside seating also. Check it out, you will find something u like on draft or in the cooler you like. If you don’t, that’s your fault…

good beer selection probably one of the better in the area, they had alot of tap as well. I only went three stars because the guy bartending was kind of standoff ish. take it down a notch hipster. i will be back hopefully the next time will be a better experience at the bar. I know i will be back for the cooler selction though.

Terrific spot. Small town, large selection of beer on tap trumped by bottled selections.
John, the proprietor, was extremely knowledgeable and super friendly.
Will for sure return to see what flavors he has on tap.

Always a good time at this spot. Great tap list, that is updated often. great customer service, TV’s, and small intimate atmosphere. They have coolers filled and even hard to find packs and singles around the corner in the back of the store.
Another good option is the growler options you have. Based on pint cost and growler size, you can take home less than a 32oz if you decide that’s what you want.
Sidenote: The hours at this spot vary and typically during the week they seem to close earlier than most spots in the area.

UPDATED: I’ve made a few revisions. My original review was a bit too harsh and didn’t do the place justice. This is easily my favorite watering hole in Davidson, and is much needed in the area. Give it a go.
Phenomenal beer selection for a little shop. The atmosphere is less bar-​like, and more store-​like. I believe it was originally meant to be a bottle shop and erupted/​evolved into a bar/​bottle-​shop combo. The bar isn’t very big, and the seating is a little limited. Nonetheless, I still very much enjoy the time I spend here. Customer service is great. The owner (John), often mans the bar himself.
They rotate their 12 taps often, and offer a VERY good selection. They feature many well known (and lesser known) local and national craft breweries. I’m often surprised and elated by what appears on draft. I only wish they had a happy hour or offered specials occasionally. However, they make up for it by offering half pints at half the price of a full pint. A huge plus in my book. I wish more establishments did this. Additionally, they fill half-​growlers, which is also nice. You can also buy any bottle and drink it in the shop if you don’t enjoy what’s on tap.
The bottle selection is pretty good. They do a nice job of acquiring limited and seasonal releases. However, the bottles (bombers, mix n’ match 6 packs, and individual 12 oz bottles) can get a little pricey. But then again, you’re paying for harder to find quality craft beer. I can’t think of another place that offers the selection that DBC does.
One more thing: They are very good at updating the draft beer selection on their facebook page, so give them a follow.

Drove by this place a few weeks ago, looked interesting, made a trip up there over the weekend. We were definitely the oldest folks in there (it is directly across the street from the Davidson College campus) but everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We sampled a couple of the draft selections and chose the NoDa Cold Clash — delish and I hope I can find it at retail. There is nothing fancy about this space and it’s brighter than a traditional bar but it’s a pleasant place to enjoy a pint, try something new, converse and spend a little time with friends.

I love this place. Great beer selection. Low key. Just a few tables and a bar with 6 or 7 chairs but beers on tap are interesting and if nothing suits, you can get a bottle out of refrigerated section which is also good for choosing a six pack to take home. A few rocking chairs outside. Food comes from an occasional food truck or delivery from reliable nearby restaurants. If you are lucky, the owner’s Dachshund roams inside.

DBC is a great stop for a pre or post-​meal drink. They have about a dozen beers on tap at any one time, some of them relatively local. They also have a huge refridgerated section of bottles and cans you can buy individually. You can enjoy your purchases there (they gave me a glass for my hard cider), or take them home. Prices for tap and individual are very reasonable. About $ 5 per person on average. Unless your drinking super specialty or strong, high alcohol level beers (which they have many of both), and then it’s closer to $ 10 per drink. They ALSO have a huge shelf area of other beers. Great find in a cute area of town.

I really enjoy DBC. They have expanded in the last year, which is a great sign of how their business is doing. If you like craft beer, then this is a great place to try something new or enjoy some of your favorites. They have a flight offering, so you don’t have to pick just one.
If you want to grab and go, they have coolers full of cold bottles of beer (some cans too) and you can mix and match a six-​pack. If you have time to chill them yourself, they have shelves and shelves of beer choices.
They have board games, so you can sit enjoy some popcorn and play games with your favorite people. The new space has a ton of windows so you don’t feel closed up in a dark dingy bar. There are tables outside to enjoy a great beverage in great weather.

A nice stop to stop if you want to sample some local brews or just take out. We had some Porter and tried some great samples on the Davidson food tour. It does get crowded on weekends so go early iof you want to avoid that. Not fancy but large enough to meet some new people

This place is a cute little storefront where you can drink beer on tap, hang out with friends or pick up some beer to go. The atmosphere is bright and cheery and very clean, which is always a plus. I managed to get a couple six packs of stuff that doesn’t get distributed to South Florida, and there was plenty to choose from. If I were local, this may have been my watering hole of choice.

Stopped by to pick up a six pack. I was pleasantly surprised to see that DBC has a tasting bar in addition to package sales. The beer selection is great, but the prices seemed a couple dollars too high. I do want to return to check out the bar experience. Glad to have this place nearby my office for picking up beer on the way home.

My boyfriend and I have been coming to the DBC since it opened… We seem to find ourselves here more often in the fall/​winter/​spring, because it is primarily indoor seating. I have such mixed reviews about the DBC at this time, but overall– I would say that the place is great!
What it is– A bar ish scene where you can enjoy beers from all over (they no longer serve wine) and you can meet lots of locals and enjoy a quite night.
What it isn’t– A bar that stays open past 11… The last two times, we have been pretty disappointed when the bartender has asked us to leave, or completely implied that it was getting late and he wanted to go home.
Listen– I understand the guy… he is in college, he wants to go out after and party… and quite frankly, it ISN’T his business, so why WOULD he want to stay late for just a small group of people. A few weeks ago a group of friends and I (6 of us) went into the DBC around 9:45… I asked the bartender if he wanted to go home… he seemed confused, and I said «are you trying to go home? it looks like you want us to leave?» he said no, that we could stay for a little while… but not «like 3 hrs». We weren’t going to stay for 3 hs either way. Either way, it was disappointing as I was with a group that frequents the place quite often, and we are all Davidson locals.
I enjoy the owner John, and he is a really nice guy! I guess i feel I would run the business a bit differently, and being that it is a small local business, I think I would welcome paying customers with open arms… no matter if the clock has stricken 10 or not.

I love DBC. I guess you could call me a regular. This beer shop/​bar/​hangout is an easy, no fuss place to grab some great beer and hang out with friends and neighbors. John the owner was offered a better spot in the Davidson Plaza, so he has just relocated about 50 feet away from his original location. Some benefits to moving: More visibility, private bathrooms and a more organized set up. The 6-​pack area is more toward the back now and the bar is right in the front. There is also a small room on one side for games or parties.
Speaking of games DBC has a variety of fun bar games out and about for your enjoyment.
The best part about DBC is the coolers with beer by the bar. I love the fact that I can pick out anything I want, and then change my mind to something else the next beer. I don’t have to buy an entire 6-​pack to try a beer!
There are so many nice people we’ve met at DBC. It’s a hangout for old and young, dog lovers and runners.

We went here with a Groupon-​esque deal in hand giving us two flights for $ 10. We’ve passed by the place constantly but I never knew they had the bar with beers on tap, and always assumed it was just a beer distributor. It’s nice to find a place that does both… the ability to sample a beer and then buy a six pack of it is pretty good.
We went in around 3:30 in the afternoon and the place was hopping. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable and showed no grudge towards pouring two flights of beer for the deal we had. The six beers on tap are changed weekly or more often so you could go in several times a month and have totally different flights. One of my only complaints is the lack of food. I’m the kind of person who needs to have something to eat while enjoying a beer or two, and they don’t have a kitchen on site. They do offer a menu from Restaurant X that is two buildings down and they will deliver food to you, but with Restaurant X opening at 5:00 there was no way to get some food in our bellies.
After downing the flights we walked about the sales floor. There is a crazy selection of microbrews, including some local ones from good ol’ NC. I have to say that we walked out empty handed as while the beer selection is extravagant, so are the prices.
I do enjoy the concept of having a bar in the middle of the beer store. I just wish the prices for the bottles were slightly more reasonable (the draft prices seemed to be just right.)

Just found our new hang out! This place is full of great not so easy to find craft beers! They are stocked with all our favorites! They have a nice bar area where you can sit and relax and order one they draft beers or order delivery from one of the neighboring restaurants. The owner and his little dachshund are super cool and friendly. This place is for people who enjoy beer for its taste so you won’t find any miller lite or mich ultras here!
