We sell a wide range of frozen bait including chum, mullet, sardines, silversides, squid, Ballyhoo and shark bait. We sell live bait like shrimp, shiners, blue crab and worms. We offer a wide range of both salt water and fresh water tackle. We can also help connect you with reputable charters of various styles both fresh and salt water.

History

Established in 1996.

Competition Tackle has always supported both freshwater and salt water anglers. The annual Dolphin Roundup is held in June.

drunk dude must have gotten fired bc I got good service! At first I thought I was out of luck bc it was a small shop but Ash helped me pick out some gear and he had every bait you can possibly imagine from live shrimp at $ 4 a dozen to goggle eyes $ 60/​dozen. It was a little surprising to hear. Plus he had pilchards/​crab/​and pinfish too. His frozen bait selection was on point as well. Bottom line is this is a good place to pick up some last minute live bait and some light artificials or hooks. If you need more than that u need to go to bass pro shop.

Their bait prices are expensive. The never have the tackle that I need. The equipment selection is minimal. They are rarely ever to share tips. They usually have an attitude and sometimes they are outright drunk!

I haven’t been fishing in years went to bass pro shops and was looking around no one offered to help me. Walked in and Ash greeted me right away we talked for a quick min. I was only needing to purchase night crawlers but his attitude and love for fishing will have me telling everyone about competition bait and tackle!!! And I will be back!!!

This is my ‘go to’ bait and tackle shop whenever I go fishing. Prices are good & the selection is great, but more importantly the owner goes out of his way to help. Last night I drove up as he was puling out of the parking lot. He stopped; turned around; and opened the shop back up for me. You don’t find too many people like this.
He totally saved my entire night of fishing.
