Business Owner

Juan Vazquez joined the IMDA (International Midas Dealer Association) in 1982, and was appointed to the board of directors in 1998. His shops have received numerous accolades and recognition, such as Dealer of the Year in 1988, and various regional and district awards, as well as numerous positive reviews from local publications. All of Juan’s shops are members of the local chapter of the Better Business Bureau.

Juan, his son Cristian and his brother Ruben are actively involved in all aspects of the Midas daily operations and can be found at various times of the day at each shop.

Update: I went back for a complimentary oil change. It was fine and a nice gesture to try and rectify a bad experience. Nothing spectacular about this location to redeem the experience, but I do appreciate the quickness of the owner to fix the issue. I won’t be returning but do hope that the employees have bettered from this.

I wanted to write an update after I went in for my oil change. I also needed one of my tires changed. The service was great and prompt. The gentleman working on my car rotated one of my tires to the back after seeing there was a minor dent in the rim. He even put in air in my spare tire in the trunk. I had only one bad experience and it was promptly handled. I will continue to take my car to this Midas for my auto care needs.

The people in this place is extremely rude once your turn them down on the services they try to sell you. The quote they give you on the phone are not the same ones your set up the appointment and arrived at their shop. I left their shop when they try to make me change all 6 of my fuel injectors when I only needs to change one, and they try to sell me a diagnostic test for almost $ 200! As soon as I walk out the guy by the name of Reggie tell another associate that I was tripping. What is that supposed to mean? I been to this place a few times before and the experience weren’t that great but is acceptable, but after this experience I will never go back again!

If you are a single young lady like me, I do not recommend coming here. They will try to take advantage of you and scare you into thinking you need more than you actually do. I came here with a groupon for rear brake pads and that’s the only thing I needed. I didn’t need calipers or rotors and they kept urging me to get everything done. Since the calipers were rusted they told me they would break off if they tried to get to the break pads. And that is a $ 500 repair. Being a medical student I can’t afford a repair like that, but they were basically leaving me no choice! So I said just put it all back together. I was about to leave but luckily a different and a lot nicer mechanic told me he would try and be gentle and didn’t want me to leave with no brakes. I said to give it a try and the calipers moved so easily that I knew the first guy quoting me all these prices was just preying on me. Even the police officer getting his car examined next to me said «if you were my daughter I would tell you to don’t do it, they are trying to take advantage of you being a young lady.»

Came I n for an oil change and the next day my car was empty of oil they never replaced the plug. then tried to blame it on a faulty part BS ! I will never ever come back Save your time and money boycott this place

Two stars is only because one guy at the front desk was nice. An oil change is 35 min… 1.5 hrs later I’m still here watching the jerks they call mechanics screw around in the garage area, smoking and goofing off. Meanwhile I’m still waiting. Will I be back? Nope :)

I just moved to the area and started going to this Midas recently. I’ve been in twice — once for an alternator replacement and once for an oil change. Both times the service has been great, and the staff have been very friendly and informative. My only complaint is that Midas is a little pricier than other locations, so I will most likely go elsewhere for simple routine maintenance.

The original experience there was less than par, but after speaking with the manager of the facility he made things right in the end and pledged to improve the issues within his shop. So the moral here is if you feel aren’t getting the service you expect, ask for Chris and he’ll work for your satisfaction, a stand up guy.

I don’t know why so many complains, with me went everything smooth no problem, I use Groupon and they accept and no extra charges besides the tax, I encourage you guys give a try before reading those bad review about this place!

During the summer of 2012, I made the mistake of taking my car to this Midas (located on University Drive in Davie, Florida) iafter Sears claimed it could not repair it. They have a fascinating scheme here: Midas in Davie will claim that it may cost anywhere between $ 200 to $ 300 for a repair. You agree and leave. Within an hour they will periodically call you to cite various problems with the car, all the while adding more money to the bill. They did this till my total bill was a whopping $ 2,000. My car was barely running and had over 100,000 miles so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. BIG MISTAKE. Two mechanics I know later told me the actual cost plus labor should have been $ 800. Midas on University Drive in Davie are crooks. Avoid them at all costs!
