Yelper Party – BPB’s BurstDay @ Young At Art Museum

Did I really forget to review BURST day!!! Maybe because I was bursting out of my pants from all of the delicious food and libations that was served! I enjoyed tacos, salads, eggplant and mac n cheese bites. But I found my true love at the Puerto Rico rum stand where they served delicious coquito! I definitely over indulged but it’s not every day that Unilocal has a Burst Day! The venue was amazing and I probably would not have got to have seen it otherwise. And I must not forget to mention the FABULOUS balloon artist. He was not your ordinary balloon clown making wiener dogs– no, whatever people challenged him with, he made it and exceeded everyone’s expectations!!! A HUGE thanks to Blue and staff for pulling off a wonderful event. I can’t wait to celebrate at the next one!

Now this was the party of the year. We counted down the days, and finally it was upon us. Passed the LOVE art signage and parked the car. Next up: check-​in. A special offer … bring on the Unilocal swag in the form of a reusable Unilocal bag. We made our donation to this noteworthy venue, purchased our raffle tickets, and entered Elite hour with our party hats on. First stop: a cool sparkling beverage by onli, a Palm Beach based company whose drinks i’ve been a fan of for some time. Next stop: a bite from Hot Pot– a shrimp & a crawfish, and a plate from D’Angelo– beef so tender you could slice it with a butter knife blanketed with a delicately flavored fig sauce– excellence.
Rocco’s brought out lobster tacos, which turned out to be one of my favorite items in attendance (second to the tender beef of course). Sushi from SA1A, a craft cocktail and a smooth and tasty LIQSshot and we were on our way to explore the inside of this wonderland. Dr. Juice offered samples of pure veggie goodness, and I was excited to find out they would be opening soon in my neighborhood by the sea. Kind bars, brew from the Mack House, Paladar, and SX Liquours all made an appearance.
The fun was underway and there was a lot to explore — including a maze, a wave to crawl through, a slide and stomp themed drum room, a cartoon artists station, an archaeological dig, and the list goes on. Plenty of activities to skillfully navigate through while being treated to a shirt and creamy concoction from Rum of Puerto Rico. The Unilocal Cake was a work of art. So many goodies and good times with a crowd of culinary connoisseurs … Thank you and cheers to you Blue for a fabulous party! The Unilocal Elite beat goes on in BPB!

What an extraordinary event at an extraordinary place! As a parent of young kids who go to «Young at Art» and similar places quite often, I got great pleasure seeing all the « Unilocaler kids» enjoy one of Broward County’s treasures.
Unfortunately due to babysitting issues, I had a time limit and it was almost impossible to taste all those delicious food stations. It was not crowded & there were no lines, just so many of them!
My top favorite was the fresh pasta from Big City Tavern. It was just so flavorful! Other favorites included the lobster tacos from Rocco’s and the quesedilllla from Los Verdes. That also was just so tasty but by then I was so full I could barely finish it
Hip Hop Pops were amazing, Mia’s Cake House cupcakes were adorable. I had heard of them but at Burst Day I found out they had a summer camp for kids! Hmmmm… if my 9yr old did not need to lose weight that might have been an option. Although, maybe, we can use them for a birthday cake
Actually, Burst Day introduced me to many restaurants & products that I might try in the future (which I’m sure was part if the point!)
I also loved Phil Barnes. His version of «Teenage Dream» would be a great cover. Of course, it was great to catch up with fellow Unilocalers. I just wish I had more time to enjoy!!!
Thank you Blue for the best Burstv Day ever! I’m sure this original event took a lot of extra hard work but it was worth it! You really knocked it out of the park!

A+++ event. Blue, you’ve really outdone yourself this time! Walking through this event was almost like walking through Costco on a Sunday afternoon, except without the old lady who always likes to tailgate and hit you with her cart. Samples of food from a large list of excellent local restaurants like Italio and great samples of spirits like Bacardi aged reserve rum. Everywhere you turned, there was food and drinks. Blue sure knows how to spoil us!
By the way, the balloon maker was the best I’d ever encountered. Next time I host a big birthday party or celebration he’s number one on my call list.

Sooooo… it was my first Unilocal event and I was super excited to go. Recognized a few of the Unilocalers by their profile pics but I was a little shy with the approach. Some of the standouts for me were the watermelon pork belly feta from 13 eleven and the guac from Paladar!
Definitely had a love for the photobooth station and the location of the event was conducive to fun times. I was under the impression there’d be activities and more interaction but again that was just an expectation and in no way a disappointment.
Overall, it was a nice event to get to know fellow Unilocalers and try out some great food!

This was my first Unilocal event and I must say, I was very impressed! There were a ton of vendors with so many different tasty samples. I particularly liked the sushi from the Saia vendor. It was really fresh and the one that I tasted had a spicy kick to it. I also liked the «Onli» beverages, which came in several different flavors. I’m guilty of guzzling two and both were delicious and refreshing. And of course, how can I leave out the fried macaroni and cheese bites? So. Flipping. Good.
The balloon master (and I call him a master because there’s really no other term to express how awesome his balloon creations were) made so many intricate balloon designs that I was blown away– pun intended. It was such a fun event and I thought the location was perfect for meeting other Unilocalers and sampling the different flavors of the community. Great job to all those that helped to organize the Burst Day. I had an amazing time!

ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY BLUE! KING OF BURSTDAYS!!! WTF is going to happen for year 2? I may have to train with Kobayashi now to get my belly ready.
I’m not sure if Burstday referred to Unilocal BPB’s birthday or how my belly was feeling after sampling so many amazing treats!
Oh where to begin?
Big City Tavern had a surprisingly awesome porchetta and pasta dish which was mostly meat (big thumbs up).
D’Angelo served up some serious short rib that could have been a dinner, but oh no I had to keep going.
3030 Ocean’s fish dip was so savory that it exploded with flavor
13 Even’s pork belly was simply sinful
BC Café and their famous tacos were excellent as usual
The Fried Mac and Cheese bites from Round Up (seriously?) were awesomely incredible.
Finally Los Verdes broke the button of my pants with their famous Colombian Hot dogs
And that was just the food! The chicks from Round up and Fashion Vodka were slinging drinks in the front while LiQs shots, new Belgium, rums of puerto rico, and especially SX coffee shots made the whole night go into a delicious blur.
I didn’t even get to desserts as I was thoroughly inebriated and full by this point. The balloon dude made some amazing pieces and had a huge crowd the whole night.
Finally, the YAA was an incredible venue for such a spectacle. I’ll be visiting here again with the kiddos as they’ll absolutely love it.

Ain’t nobody can do no Burstday like Blue A. A-​ight?!
Yes, Burstday, that’s what I’m talking about. From the moment I got there I knew this was going to be an awesome party. I met up with the Miami Unilocalies representing, looked around and recognized some BPB Unilocal friends I hadn’t met before, in person. While some brief introductions were taking place, more Unilocalers showed up and the party was starting to take shape. Before too long, the party started.
I grabbed a quick drink and went inside, where I ran into more familiar faces. You know you hang out too much when you know the sponsors. While everyone was outside, I hit the bowels of the beast and scored big, plus I had time to talk to everyone serving food and drinks.
One thing that surprised me was that some of the vendors were referring me to other vendors. I thought «this is a first, vendors promoting other vendors». More than one person asked me if I had tried Rocco’s Tacos. That is how I ended up on a quick quest for Rocco’s Tacos. I will say they were good, and I will check them out another day.
Anyway, everything was really good. I enjoyed everything, there were really no favorites for me. Actually, if I must single someone or something out, the coffee/​espresso coquito was off the hook! Really great idea and can’t wait for some more of this Puertorrican holiday drink.
Shout out to the balloon man. He was dispensing more rubber than a contraceptive clinic. He was THE party, with an hour long wait and all. Blue A., that balloon man is gold.

Best Burstday Ever!!!
This being my first Unilocal event, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. But I have to say the Burstday event was awesome! Great food and plenty of drink options created a perfect environment for Unilocalers to come and socialize. I could go on and on about the food, but my hands down favorite was the fried Mac & Cheese with Ranch sauce followed by the short ribs and the chicken breast salad and «cannoli in a cup». Forgive me for not assigning credit to each specific vendor, but everything was excellent.
It was also nice to meet up with some of my fellow Unilocaler buddies and chat. Just cool people and good times.
A special thanks to Blue for everything he does for us local Unilocalers. Blue is simply the bomb and did a great job with last night’s event.
Overall is was a great time with good people and I really enjoyed it !! Thanks Unilocal !!!

I was so excited I was able to attend the «most funnest Burstday Party» ever!!! The Elite party started at seven & I got there a little early. I found a parking spot right away & I was ready for my very first «Burstday Party».
While we were waiting for the event to start I met a few people I talk to on line & even had a few people come up to me to say hello. Unilocalers are not shy!!! My favorite part of the night was meeting lots of great people & seeing a few people I met at my last event.
Security was tight & we had to show our ID to make sure our names were on the guest list. The check in process was smooth & the Unilocal tote bag was a great extra touch. It came in handy for all the goodies we got throughout the night. Tshirts, stickers, Kind Bars, coupons, my bag was loaded with goodies by the end of the night. And my new Rum Tshirt is super cute too.
The food was endless. The lobster tacos from Rocco’s were awesome & even though I didn’t try everything… it all looked delicious. Being a kid myself, my favorite snack was the Hip Hop ice cream bars!!! We were able to customize them anyway we wanted & TRUST ME, I wanted chocolate… & it was delicious.
And the drinks never stopped. I loved the cinnamon tequila shots from LIQS Shots & the coffee tequila shots from SX Liquors were phenomenal. I also tried a rum & that was good too but the SX tequila rocked.
Young at Art was the perfect venue for this Burstday Party. There were so many things to do & see… there was no time to be bored! The balloon man was phenomenal & even though I didn’t wait to get something it was lots of fun watching him create his masterpieces. Mia did a great job on the cake & the cupcakes looked super good.
Lets not forget Phil Barnes. He performed all night & was incredible. I definitely want to see him again. He is such a good singer & I am happy I got to see him perform.

I was late. I’m always late. Even if I get ready six hours in advance, I’m still late. Except this time, I was only about 15 minutes late. The humidity was grueling, so as soon as I checked in at the front table, I headed straight inside. Sorry! It’s tough when your hair wants to fuzz up like a chia pet in this awful south Florida humidity. Okay, maybe it wouldn’t have been that bad. I still chose to run for cover in the air conditioning.
First off, I bring my boys to these places as often as I can. I’ve had this place on my list for a while. I just haven’t made the trip down to check them out. It’s a really neat place. I believe I went through all of the open exhibits — even the subway car that tickles your feet if you are wearing thin shoes. Speaking of shoes — I wore ballet flats this time instead of heels! My feet loved me later on for it. ;-)
The balloon artist was phenomenal. I couldn’t believe he was able to create so many masterpieces — with balloons! I’ve seen others make balloon creations before, but this guy is the Van Gogh or Da Vinci of balloon artists — no joke. However, the line was incredibly long, so I skipped this.
I had so much fun socializing with everyone. I had not seen anyone — even my climbing partner who came along to check out the event — for a few months now. There was a lot of people, but I tried to greet as many as I could. That’s part of what I love about these events — the people!
On hand were shots of tequila by SX Liquors, vodka shots by LIQS, rum, and lots of beer. I loved the tequila. This is monumental because I loathe tequila. I usually get a nasty headache within minutes of drinking it. So, when Allen handed me a shot, I thought I was in for it. Surprisingly, it tasted great and I didn’t get a headache. I definitely grabbed a business card.
I spent more time socializing and floating around that I didn’t really take the time to eat anything. I also had my hands full of different goodies I managed to snag not long after arriving. Too bad I couldn’t get my hands on a bag! I’m guilty of collecting Unilocal stuff like a crazed hoarder. Precious, must have the precious.
The photo booth was lots of fun. I had never taken pictures with that set-​up before, so I was kind of taken off guard at first. I didn’t realize it would take the pictures like an actual photo booth.
All in all, this was an awesome event. I had a lovely time. Thank you to the vendors for coming out. Well done Blue! This was a well-​organized event. I was impressed. I am definitely coming back to let the boys have some fun! Thanks again! Until next time!

What a magnificent fun event! Food and drinks galore! and a super fun venue with surprises in every room! From start to finish the Burstday party was a blast. Very well coordinated and organized. I arrived early to make the most of the Elite hour, it was great to walk around the outside and sample a vast variety of different cuisines from the many vendors who were out to showcase their amazing food. With several different bar areas serving from Vodka, flavored waters, wines and specialty cocktails to a full array of cuisines from seafood, pastas, tacos, salads and so much more. All vendors were ready to go once we started walking through, with amazing food ready to serve, I found the vendors super friendly and it was apparent they were also enjoying the event.
I had never heard of the Young At Art Museum, what a wonderful fun place! And an excellent venue to host our party, there was plenty of room to move around, as well to stop and mingle, it was nice to not feel claustrophobic in tight quarters, such a fun place to walk around through, with different themed rooms and I loved that vendors were spread out through out the entire venue.
I couldn’t get enough of the Puertorican eggnog from Rums of Puerto Rico, which tasted more like a Pina Colada to me, it was delicious!!! as so were the pasta from Big City, the short rib with the spinach rollatini from D’Angelo were out of this world, and the wonderful pork belly and watermelon salad from 13 Even. With so much craft beer to choose from, guacamole, hot dogs, delicious cup cakes, the delicious shots from LIQS, this event was non-​stop.
I have a confession to make, I HATE Balloons and avoid them at all cost, always have, they freak me out, but not last night!!! Last night I couldn’t help but admire and sometimes even follow around the many awesome balloon characters created by the very talented balloon artist.
On top of all the amazing food and drink options, we had the pleasure of being entertained by Phil Barnes, every time he started a new song I kept on finding myself saying «I LOVE THIS SONG»! What a great performer! and I loved his playlist.
It was great seeing many of my Unilocal friends, and finally meeting many of the people I see online. A special THANK YOU to BLUE for putting together such a memorable fun night for us to come out, relax and enjoy the perks of being a BPB Unilocaler ;-) Thank you to all the wonderful vendors, and to Young At Art Museum for having us!!!

Blue, you are a pro my friend. Simply spectacular.

Everything was very organized, every vendor was ready to go on time, and the selection was wonderful.
I am very familiar with YAA, but I can assure you I have never seen it like this. I was a little worried about the size of the event (I hate crowds). As it turns out, there was nothing to be worried about. The venue is very large and the vendors were perfectly spread out. I was able to comfortably try every single thing that caught my eye. I started with the hot dog from Los Verdes which was great. Rocco’s Tacos stood out with their lobster tacos, I admittedly had several of those. The SX Tequila is simply sinful and I could not get enough. The beer selection was also fab. SAIA had a perfect location which meant I had sushi all night long each time I strolled past them.
It was not just about the food though. Bobby from Balloon Masterz was amazing. These were not just balloon animals, they were balloon sculptures. We were all mesmerized watching him work. What a great find! Phil Barnes played endlessly. I mean, did he even take a break? Love him! I don’t remember a quiet moment. Then again, us Unilocalers tend to be a wee bit rowdy. Perhaps that’s why? The Photo Booth was (predictably) a good time for all. Oh and the Stomp room! That was some (loud) FUN! I can go on and on and on… but, I don’t want to reach that pesky little 5000 character rule that always haunts me.
This was a special night and not just another Unilocal event. I loved celebrating our community’s birthday with my Unilocal Family (did you take a look at that cake???). Even our southernmost cousins came to this one! Let’s hear it for the 305ers! A warm welcome to all the new Unilocalers I met last night. Your adventure has only just begun!
Blue, I hope you get a nice long day of rest today. You kicked as* last night!

Wow… not sure how to even start this review because I’m just BURSTING with things to say.
Let’s start with thank you — Thank you to Blue (and whoever else was behind the scenes) for pulling this all together. Such a great venue — I was super impressed with the staff of the YAA and even the security team. Thanks to all the vendors for coming out and making the 1^st BPB Burstday a success. Hopefully we’ll have a 2^nd Burstday ;)?
I’m not sure I want to run on about all the amazing things I ate… and yes I ate them all except for the pretzel chips as pretzels are really not my thing. I must have been eating the same thing at Glenn G. during the day as my stomach also wasn’t feeling great, but I manned up and ate everything (somethings twice lol). 13 Even had my favorite of the night — the pork belly/​feta/​watermelon salad. It’s like they read my list of favorite foods and stuck them all on one plate. Also huge thanks to the girl at Paladar who gave me her balloon hat! Plus their guac was amazing!
This leads me to balloons! I’ve never been more impressed by a balloon artist. He was pushing out some masterpieces — Joy’s underwater Little Mermaid scene and the surfer on the wave were the most impressive! There was no way I was going to stand around and wait 45mins — 1 hour for a balloon hat (hello there was food that needed to be eaten!) so getting given my martini glass hat without waiting was the score of the night. I’m sure all the raffle ticket winners think they got lucky but I’m pretty sure my hat without wait took the cake.
The drinks — I realized soon in that those LIQS shots were too strong for me and I stuck to tequila shots and Rums of Puerto Rico (those really sound safer right? Lol). I also managed to get some non-​alcoholic shots in — anyone else try the chocolate coconut water? That was like crack! The juices were great too, loved the carrot and ginger and I had such a good laugh with Lisa G. discussing how small the world is (make sure you tell Steve hi from me!).
My only regret was wearing a dress. Trust me it was not a good idea to be in a dress and trying to climb through the wave maze thing. I only made it half way up before I realized anyone behind me was getting a great peep show lol.

Simply BURSTATIC!
Many vendors offered food and drink samples. I didn’t have one that I didn’t like. Having a mixture of drinks from Mandarine Napoleon, Roundup, Liqs, Rums of Puerto Rico, and Onli was probably not the smartest idea, but I’m glad that I had at least something to wash down all the food. There was a bunch of bites that I consumed as well. Some of my favorites was a hot dog from Los Verdes, guacamole from Rocco’s, mac and cheese balls from Roundup, cupcakes and cake from Mia’s Cake House, salad and cannoli chip from Italio, and vanilla bean gelato bar covered with chocolate and coconut from HipPops. However, the short rib bite from D’Angelo was absolutely amazing! The damn thing could give me a flipping orgasm it was so good. Nom nom nom.
It was an opportunity to be a kid again. My husband and I went through the museum and it’s cool how the imagination can go wild when it comes to art. Taking items such as pencils and forming them into a deer head blows me away. There was a bear and a cat that was made out of bullets. Even alligators that was made out of bottom of shoes. Mad admiration for the ones that designed and made the figures possible. Seeing a child’s view of the world is pretty neat.
Balloon twisting, finger painting, baseball, golf, and picture taking were some of the activities that made the museum a playground tonight. Lots of balloon heads were going around. Some were crazy and tall and others were cute and spiffy. There was so much to do and look at.
Seeing old and new Unilocalers is always a pleasure and it is so awesome to be a part of a great community. All the vendors did a spectacular job with their services. Thanks to Young at Art for being a gracious host and accommodating everything from top to bottom. My husband and I can’t wait to bring our son back to the museum when he gets older. Blue, you continue to kick ass with forming these events. We can’t thank you enough for all the hard work and time you have put in this event. What a perfect way to celebrate the first year of the BPB community!

What an awesome event of events! So proud to say BPB is ringing in the 1 year with style. An insane amount of food, bubbs, desserts and of course the wild turkey, oh my! From my photos you can see that we really enjoyed the Young Arts and all they had to offer! Big ups to Blue and all the Unilocal who helped rein in this amazing annual artsy throw down! Overuse of exclamation marks and bad grammar!!! Guilty as charged. I blame it all on the party people who made it happen!
Do we have to wait another year to party down in west Broward? Nah, I’m pretty sure Blue has more up his sleeve.

Such a great time today at Unilocal BPB!!! Thanks Blue for the fabulousness! Everything was well organized and the venue was perfectly selected. Checked in early for Elite hour and man was it worth it! We got everything hot and fresh. All the exhibits were great! I will be coming back to bring my daughter. I am so glad I came, this being my first Elite event, and looking forward to many more!!!
Food was great, and everyone was really nice. Even met a couple of Elite peeps and got a chance to put some faces to names. Had a great time!!!

Despite the fact that I arrived to the event super Miami time (ie 30 minutes after it started) a lot of vendors had a full suite of delicious grub for me to sample after one of my epic twelve hour workdays. Kudos to Burst Day Boy Blue for this level of organization!
Among my favorite dishes were the vegetable and peach ceviche from 13 Even, the Spinach Park from D’Angelo and the Chicken breast salad and cannoli from Italio. Huge thanks to the crew at Rocco’s Tacos since they customized their dishes to make me a non-​seafood Mexican meal! The live show by Phil Barnes, and the art of exhibits made for a fun night. I loved the subway train and Keith Haring’s psychedelic artwork — including his Chris Bosh dinosaur :)
Ooh and let’s not forget the spicy baked BBQ wings from Stout!
The thing that makes Unilocal special besides yummy food and music isn’t a thing but the people, and I got to hang out with plenty of fun folks. I finally met fellow puppy parent and Kaskade fan Colleen B., and both Brandi and KTCapers, plus a bunch of old Unilocal buddies (Brenna & Jacqueline, Patty and Mr. Sandler!) Plus, a certain Miami Unilocaler who rocked a kilt. Yeah that happened.

I’m bursting with happiness after the First Unilocal BPB Burstday. It was amazing and so much fun. I got to meet old Unilocalers from before as well as new Unilocalers.
It is pretty incredible so many diverse vendors participated in this event. I don’t regret ruining my strict diet plan and enjoyed eating all the yummy treats such as the fish dip from 3030, the cupcakes from Mia Cake House, sushi from Saia, and so many more. My absolute favorite was the gelato on a stick from Hip Pop. It was the most decadent thing I ate and can’t wait to eat it again.
The event venue was so different then any other Unilocal event I have been to. The traveling exhibit in the last room was such a pleasure to see. Also the photo booth made my day with the funny pictures everyone was taking.
I always think the Unilocal event I go to, that’s the best Unilocal event I have been too so far, but Blue always exceeds in all expectations. Thank you Blue and all of the Unilocal community in doing such an amazing event for us Unilocalers!~

My first event here at BPB and it was amazeballs! Blue and his crew did such a great job organizing the event. There was enough space to walk, talk, and of course eat! I loved the venue. Never been to the art museum before and it seems like such a fun place for kids to let loose and enjoy the craftier, artsier side of life. There were a ton of interactive exhibits and lots of great picture opportunities. Can you say #selfie heaven?
The vendors there served excellent food. Huge servings of guac and plantain and taro chips; wings with this ridiculous yummy sauce; beautifully prepared sushi; finger-​licking good crawfish; tasty salmon bruschetta; cute little cupcakes; and customizable ice cream bars. Say what?! And dranks on dranks on dranks. Oh, and they were giving away a free a Unilocal tote with a check-​in and some vendors were giving away their own free goodies like shirts. Seriously, there was nothing I could complain about. There was even someone making balloon animals and hats. So of course I had to grab one!
My friend and I arrived early for the Elite happy hour and we were able to hit up every vendor on our must-​try list. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better first even here at BPB. I can’t wait for more!
