Cobalt Salon & Gallery owner, David Martin has had over 25 years of experience in color application, color theory, and color correction, including foil, baliage, and ombré techniques. David has studied with the Paul Mitchell Academy, Joico advanced training and was an educator for ISO professional color lines for several years before taking time to focus on his salon. David is also highly trained in blade work, both razor and shears. History

Established in 2009.

I have been styling hair in Davis for over 25 years. In 2009 I, and my fellow stylists Tenaya Freitas, Sharon Jackson, & Cecilia Scott were forced to find a new salon to work in. I’d had enough moving around, and decided to open my own boutique style salon, and Cobalt Salon & Gallery was born! David started fresh out of cosmetology school at J. Cunningham & Co. in 1987. He has worked at many of the top Davis salons over his 23 years in town, including All That/​Hair Artistry, which he owned for 5 years. He is now the owner of Cobalt Salon & Gallery.
