Davis Copy Shop

I had to get a good amount of calculations printed quickly for our workers out in Davis. Brandon answered the phone and acted swiftly upon my requests and for a good price. Would recommend :)

Firstly they don’t pick up their phones so if you want to save yourself a trip you really can’t. I hauled my ass all the way there just to be met with a closed door and a «be back in five minutes» sign.
Ten minutes later no one’s back so I ring the doorbell. Ooh, the associate was hiding inside the entire time and not acknowledging my knocking
I was told that no, they dont have the reader I need in stock, no they don’t know how much it will cost, and no, they dont know when it’ll be available.

No matter how many times I come here, I’m still shocked at how much they charge for these readers that instructors make you buy. I can still recall the traumatizing moment they quoted me $ 80 for one reader.
If you end up taking a lot of humanities classes, this will be a place you may end up frequenting whether you like it or not. Let’s just be clear, this place is a sinkhole for your money. After buying a reader, they’ll rarely have any resale value, if any. Most of the time the readers are specific to your professor so when another professor teaches the same class the next quarter, they have their own version.
At the beginning of each quarter lines do get long in the cramped shop that was obviously converted from a residential home. If your buying a reader for a small class or a couple weeks into school, they generally won’t have any in stock so you’ll have to order one and come back an hour later. Oh yea, if you’re the type to study ahead you can order readers from past quarters as long as they still have a copy in their system.

Best copy shop in town! Best prices and quick and efficient service. For a recent copy project I had, I compared with Office Max and Davis Copy Shop ended up saving me almost $ 100.

They always have readers on hand, even one day before my final (whoops). the owners are really nice and though during the beginning of the semester the line is out the door, the people do everything they can to help get you out of there as fast as possible. i like.

the only reason why i like readers is b/​c it is cheaper than text books, and navin’s ‘looks the other way’ when you use their copy machines.
i dunno if the guy is still there, but he DJ’s at pasta? on thursday nights. way better music than what USED to be cantina…
then head across the street and get a mad delishus burger from ali baba’s.
and then get lost in the death star…
i miss davis. right now the weather is PERFECT over there…

Me: nOOOOOOOOOoo. poor trees getting killed to be turned into a thick reader.
If I have to get a reader during the first week of school, then I’ll wait in the horrendous line at Navins. The problem that I have with Navin’s is the lack of customer service. The workers are not friendly, especially the woman who operates the cash register. That woman does not say hello or give a smile. Yikes!
It sucks to buy readers though since you can’t sell them back. I use all of my readers to prop up my computer stand so my desk area can be more ergonomic. I have 6 readers propping up my computer stand.
One star for the close location to campus.
One star for the fast service.

15 bucks for a reader. Makes me sad knowing that I have to buy a reader for a class. Because at that moment, I know I will lose 15 bucks that I can’t gain back on
or something. Service is good and fast, but still, I bet if I counted up all the money I spent on readers, I could buy a nice pair of shoes. Aren’t shoes more important than an education? Eh, maybe not.
And warning, if you have a class that requires a reader, make sure you’re not going to drop it before buying a reader. Because once that reader is in your hands, you have officially sold your soul to the devil.

Having had a heavy dose of science lab and art history in my education Navin’s was basically the de facto place for the readers associated with those classes. MIght not be the cheapest option in town but definitely one of the places that has the most local character.
