Draper’s Mobile Locksmith Service

My keys, along with my car’s ignition key got stolen on a Monday night. Tuesday morning I called Draper after being referred to him from the dealership. He was driving when I called so he asked me to text him my information. I was unavailable during a 4.5 hour period of time, but I offered to leave the door key at the office of my apartment complex just in case if he was only available during that time. I would pay him by credit card over the phone once he was done. He told me he had two jobs to do before mine. Not a problem.
I texted him asking for an estimate. No response. Again, not a problem. I figured he was probably busy. I came home and there was no evidence of Draper coming over. He didn’t respond until the following evening. He told me that he would be able to work on the car on Thursday, and that he would try his best to keep the cost down. After not hearing from him at all on Thursday, I cancelled Friday morning.
3 DAYS? I can’t believe it would take over 3 days for someone to be able to help me. Especially when it is a 24 hour service. Luckily I had another car to drive in the meantime. I called another locksmith and he came over right away. He finished the job in less than an hour.

Great service. Was on time and really nice to talk to. He accepts cards via square and did NO damage to my escalade that I locked my keys into. If your in Davis and need a locksmith do not hesitate to call.

I couldn’t be more grateful to this man. I locked my keys in my trunk. I spent an hour and a half trying to go through my insurance and calling locksmith after locksmith only to receive poor service from everybody, until I found Draper’s service. He was on the job in Woodland, finished his job quickly there, and then drove immediately to where I was in Davis. He was very considerate and even took care to try unlocking my car without scratching the tinted windows (which he was successful at!). My day was going poorly, but he made it better just by his excellent service. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would recommend.

I have used Draper’s 3 times in my lifetime, and the service is consistently friendly, prompt, and reliable. The first time I used Mr. Draper’s service was because my keys were stolen at the gym, and I had to have my apartment unlocked for me by Mr. Draper, followed by a re-​keying of my apartment lock and car. Mr. Draper came out promptly and took care of everything. As I recall, he even gave me a break on all the work in light of my situation.
Another time I called Drapers because of an emergency situation at my workplace. Mr. Draper was already out with a client, but was able to expedite his response to us. The last time I used Draper’s was just a few months ago, when I needed to have some blank keys cut for my Scion tC during the weekend. Because it was at the end of the business day, I drove to Mr. Draper’s office in Winters to have the keys cut, after which he even tried NOT to charge me because I was the one who drove out to him.
I have and still highly recommend Draper’s if you ever need locksmith services. He’s an honest and helpful guy!

Based on previous Unilocal reviews, I called Dan to put a new lock on our sliding glass door. We kept getting locks from Home Depot and installing them only to have the cheap locking arm break off. Dan determined that part of the problem with the previous door locks was that one of the rollers on the bottom of the door was worn down making the door difficult to align with the locking mechanism. He worked on the door quite some time, getting it to slide and align better; however, eventually we must replace the roller. Anyway, the lock he installed was SO MUCH better than the previous locks, and four months later the door still aligns with the lock. He charged us very little considering all the time he took to make an old door lock again.

He had just arrived somewhere else when he said that he could turn out and help me and then go back to what he was doing so that I could quickly get help. Everywhere else I called said it would have been at least 3 hours, but Draper showed up in 20 minutes, even though he didn’t have to. So very considerate, and a super nice guy. If I lock myself out of my car again, I know who to call.

I needed to get my locks changed quickly. Mr. Draper was at my place early the next morning and did a fantastic job on the not very standard locks I had. He’s a super nice guy. It was a lot of work, but he charged what he quoted me anyway. I will use him for all my future locksmith needs.

If you are calling late at night to get your car unlocked, cost a little more. If you can wait until the morning it is cheaper. I called David to unlock my car. For my mazda protégé, price was $ 75 which isn’t so bad compared to the late night price of $ 125. He came all the way out to Davis and easily unlocked my door. No body damage to the car or window! He does accept debit or credit.

Great service. I needed help getting a new key made for my old car. My lock was old and unruly so it took a lot of extra finessing to make a key that worked. He took the extra time to get it done and for a really really good price. thank you so much. I’ll be back.

He is great! Met us at the last minute for spare keys and he worked and worked until he got it right. Price quoted was exactly what he charged, which was just below what others were charging. Highly recommend !

David Draper is AWESOME. I have locked myself out a few too many times, had to have my locks changed, etc. etc. and he has been awesome every single time. He is prompt, friendly and trustworthy. Even if it’s a tough lock to open, he gets it every time. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone!

David Draper came out to change two of my locks. He was so friendly and went way beyond what I expected. I was able to call in the morning around 8am and he managed to meet me just four hours later (very short notice). He was even early to my house which was great. He changed my front door and one other lock in about half an hour. He also helped me secure my garage door, which was a bonus! My manual garage door had a broken locking mechanism so David fashioned a piece of metal out of his truck as a make-​shift lock. I absolutely recommend!

A great service. I called to get a lock adjusted and he was at my house within 15 minutes. And since the job was quickly finished, he fixed two other problems at my house that he noticed. All included in the single service fee. He’s a nice guy who really knows what he’s doing.
