First time here. We order Meatball and steak&cheese. They are really good! The stuff here are so nice, and the serve is fast. The environment is clean and neat. They have a lot and variety choice of sauces in the font. We can get a free drink with a student by purchase a sub. They also have burgers. We will come back again.

The subs were delicious and we got the lunch deal at dinner time — any two 6 inch subs with 2 bags of chips and 2 small sodas(which were the size of a medium soda anywhere else) for about $ 10. The staff was super friendly and the décor was nice. Love the firehouse motif. Will be coming back.

My boyfriend is gluten free. We came in with a gluten free bread slice we bought near downtown davis and they were happy and willing to make a sandwich with it! They stacked it high! And even too 2 $ off our bill because we used his own bread :) thanks firehouse!

This place has great little sandwiches! I eat here probably twice a week and its always good. Don’t complicate the order, just get the hook and ladder! The only thing thats bad about the food is the pickle spears are always too cold to eat. They are more like pickle popsicles!

Hook and ladder is a great sandwich. Service is friendly and the fountain drinks are numerous. A bit more expensive than Subway but a better meal.

This is my second time eating at the shop in Davis, and this is the second time they messed up my order. I think next time I walk by I’ll stick with blaze pizza instead. Very disappointed once again… Not worth the money when you can’t enjoy it.

firehouse is actually really good. the sauces are awesome and the veggies are always so fresh. It’s soo savory ! There’s a lot of options to choose from as well as a low calorie menu. AND the people are great. especially Sydney!!! the sandwiches are also super filling and they’re packed with all the ingredients. way better than anything at subway by far. also u can get a free firefighter hat sooooooo why would you not go here? Not the mention the place itself is awesome with the décor and all. and it’s always so clean. defiantly a great place to stop buy, they even have delivery if you’re lazy but in need of a savory delicious sandwich!(ditch subway) I recommend the Italian sub 100%

My initial visit wasn’t the best. I got to the sriracha beef sandwich. The actual flavor was delicious but the sandwich was really soggy and falling apart. I’m optimistic the staff members were extremely nice and maybe another sandwich will be better next time

I went here for the first time today around 5pm to use the free sub coupon. I had the Engineer sub and thought it was pretty good, I’d say a step above Subway and about par with Togo’s. I do think it is too expensive for a sandwich. The interior seemed orderly and clean, and the extensive array of sauces was impressive. However, the employees really left something to be desired. They all seemed very inexperienced and tired. There was no enthusiasm or sense of urgency(I feel the food should have been coming out faster). The employee who brought out my order didn’t make eye contact, mumbled my order really fast, and walked away as soon as possible. I’m hoping with time, the employees will become more comfortable and confident in this new establishment.

Using a free coupon, we split a medium New York Steamer which contains corned beef, pastrami and provolone. The meat was tasty but there wasn’t much of it. For free it was a good value, for $ 6.99, I’m not so sure. If downtown and wanting a sub sandwich, I’d go to Zia’s Deli before returning to Firehouse Subs, unless I receive another free coupon in the mail.

Love this place. My usual is the Italian fully involved on wheat. I add some of the extra optional topping like cucumbers, banana peppers and jalapeños at no extra charge! The toppings combination make it sweet & spicy! The service at this location has been excellent too.

I love the energy from the«TENTWELVE!» we heard right when we entered, but it died really quickly after that. The energy went from a 10 down to a 2 by the time we walked up to the counter. Up at the counter, I felt super duper tiny and lost(because I had no clue where to order). It was a little hard to see the menu without backing up(boo you tall counter). As for the place itself, it’s absolutely adorable. I love the pictures firefighters in action, really ties in to the whole Firehouse sub(well it was started by firefights, if I’m right). The little fire hats for children are adorable, any kid that comes in would be excited to get a little hat… I know I would. The ordering process was a little confusing but I like that they have a smaller sandwich option of a ‘smaller wheat bun’. I think it’s nicer compared to a half of a roll. I tried the tuna with a slice of provolone cheese, ¼ of a pickle on the side. When ordering, I didn’t see the add-ons so it was just lettuce and a tomato. The service was pretty quick but the combo was surprising. The medium size cup was like a large slurpee cup. Half a tuna salad with a combo, total came out to 9.86… a bit on the pricey side for me since I’ve gotten the same amount of food for less before. After unwrapping the sandwich, it was surprising to see my tuna ozzing out. It was very runny and looked like it had been beaten to death; it was also super salty. I pretty much scraped half the tuna off and it was still dripping everywhere when I took a bite. The bread tasted ok, not warm or anything like it was just straight out of a bag. Final Thoughts: I don’t love the sandwich nor hate it. I will give this place another try for other menu items when I get my paycheck. There are things that can be improved on, like texture of tuna and the service. Love the place physically but not so much for the food.

Since we received a coupon for a free sub we decided to give Firehouse Subs a try. It was about 2:30 in the afternoon and the place was almost empty except for the perky, cheerful, friendly staff. We were greeted us and the menu was helpfully explained to us. My partner order the Steamer while I decided to try the Sriracha Beef 500 with added avocado. The subs arrived quickly, but the server acted strange when she handed me mine. His Steamer was supposed to contain corned beef, pastrami, cheese and a? Italian dressing. The sub looked nothing like the picture on the menu. It was was very thin with not much meat and no discernible cheese, but he ate it so quickly it was hard to gauge the ingredients. I had eaten a couple bites of my sub when a server came over to bring me a side of Sriracha that I hadn’t requested. Next bite I still tasted nor saw any meat or cheese and upon in opening the sub found only veggies. I took it to the counter and they quickly made me another sub. It was tasty, but it still contained no cheese and I was too hungry and tired to bring this to their attention again! They get points for enthusiasm, clean environment and fresh ingredients, but if the can’t learn to build the subs as advertised we won’t be back.

A new Davis eatery(even if it’s a chain) is fun to check out, because that’s what you do in Davis: you eat. The quality of the food here is good, but it’s a little pricey. It seems to be my experience that most subs are these days. We had a free coupon for a medium sub, roughly a $ 7 deal,(I think they put them in all the Davis mailboxes) and we got a Firehouse Meatball Sub. The bread was nice and soft, the meatballs flavorful and slightly spicy(they have Sweet n Spicy as an option to increase the spice), and the warm marinara and melted cheese served as a delicious topping. The sandwich came with a pickle spear. I have to say that the staff is really friendly. The girl who took our order told us we could get any sub we wanted with the free coupon. She also told us about the hot sauces(numbered 1 – 10 based on spiciness). They’re all available for you to customize your sandwich with. The place was very clean. Cute red furniture and authentic-looking firemen décor with lots of seating and two TVs. Overall, if I’m going to put down over $ 5 for a sub, I’d choose this place over Subway.

The only thing I’d complain about would be the price. For $ 11 even, I got an «engineer»( ) combo and I could get that again no questions asked. But I’d also like to try the other sandwiches, so I probably won’t get that again anytime soon. I’d have no problems returning to try something else though! Mom actually found a coupon for a free sandwich, so she got one also. Outside the door just now, they are handing out coupons to make a sandwich purchase into a combo(sandwich, chips, drink) for free. Bread seemed fresh, but it sounds like you shouldn’t wait too long to consume it or else it’ll turn soggy. Seems reasonable. I will be back as soon as I find another good coupon.(Yes, I’m cheap like that.)

My favorite place to get a sub sandwich. If you haven’t been here yet, you should. Hands down the best sub sandwiches. It may be a tad more expensive than subway, but not by much at all(1 – 2 $ tops). But when you pay subway prices, you get subway results. You eat in a shady store with a few tables and sandwich toppings to look at for entertainment. Firehouse subs has a great environment and several big screen TVs. Great for sporting events. Most importantly, they’re extremely CLEAN. This place is constantly and consistently clean. Overall, you should come here. Be the judge yourself. They have a great variety of sandwiches, and it’s a great place to have a beer and watch a game.

Went in on a Wednesday night around 8pm. Ordered a Hook & Ladder w/no mayo, no onions, and no pickle. Ended up with onions in my extra soggy mayo-ridden sandwich, with a pickle on the side. Double-check my receipt and sure enough it indicates my preferences. Following directions doesn’t seem to be their forte. Tip: If you’re ordering a sandwich to-go, open it on the spot to make sure they’ve got your order right!

They just opened this spot in Davis, and I think it’s a great new addition! You can never have too many sandwich shops! I had a brisket sandwich on white and it was bomb. With chips, unlimited toppings, and a drink, everything totaled around $ 11. The place is pretty crowded, but there’s a good amount of seating if you decide to stay. The venue is cute, and decorated to resemble a firehouse… Hence the name. The staff is super friendly and efficient. Honestly, I have no complaints.

Rejoice, franchisees of Togo’s, Subway — shoot, I’ll even include AM-PM and 7 – 11 — another grossly overpriced glamour franchise has come to Davis. Your clientele is secure! But, since my mom always told me to start out with 5 positives — hear this! The place is clean. It is nicely arranged. Décor is great. The staff is very friendly. It has a great location.(is that five yet?) I was greeted fairly promptly when I’ll entered the store by a very enthusiastic and friendly sales person who took my order for a steak and cheese. Numerous upsell attempts later, I got my $ 11 bill out; got my cup for one of the 150 soda choices; and sat down to watch the ball game on the 80 inch flat screen; which was placed right above the bright windows. In due course(don’t really know how long —(was trying to figure out the soda machine and got caught up in an extra inning ball game) my fist size sandwich arrived. Please note — I have small hands. Not sure what type of steak this was — but suffice to say that the dog food that I fed my dog later that night looked better. Can’t really make a taste comparison, though — I have my review limits! But then again — this was a really — literally — tasteless. The soft wheat roll was Wonder Bread quality and texture, which was fortunate because it could contain or at least sop up some of the juice that came out of the steak(and I use that term loosely). The two(counted them) peppers and four(ditto) onions did zip to enhance. And don’t even get me started on that limp pickle! All and all — just a big nope — good luck, guys — you will need it in your quest to fend off the challenge from AM/PM prepackaged subs.
