Tandem has been proudly serving the community of Davis for the last fifty years. We have a long history of giving back to the local community and pride ourselves in doing things a little differently. History

Established in 1965.

Tandem was founded in 1965 as a sole proprietorship by John Whitcombe. John graduated from UC Davis and then from the Harvard Business School. The original company began by designing and building custom homes. In 1970, Bill Roe and Paul Makley both graduates from the Stanford Business School, joined the company to help manage its growth.

Tandem knows the property management business well, being locally owned and having provided housing for the Davis and Woodland communities for 50 years. That means we know our residents, our town, and the university that is at its core.

We pride ourselves on being the number one housing provider in Davis while maintaining our tradition of quality housing, resident services, and fair business practices which the community has come to expect as the Tandem Standard of Care. We are proud to give back to this community we call home in many ways year after year.
