Was so excited by the reviews, so we gave it a shot. I’m hoping that they take this as constructive criticism, make some changes, and we can try them again — and leave a 5 star rating…
Scones with Devonshire cream (clotted cream would be nice, but.) please serve more o f the cream… at least 3x or 4x the amount.
The hot teas… serve them with the tealeaves, so the customer can decide on the brew/​steeping strength. My English breakfast tea was way too weak.
What was good.:
The scones were pretty decent.
The sandwiches, etc were decent too.

Crap!!! I never wrote my review for the fantabulous bridal shower tea party I attended last year for one of my besties!!! Ugh, my bad :-(
My only complaint was the outdoor seating and how horribly cramped we were trying to squeeze 13 ladies and all our girlie bridal shower goodies into such a small space. I completely understand they still need to have room to seat others and such (yes, it’s still a business), but jeeze. Please don’t reassure the bridesmaid making the arrangements you have plenty of room for our needs only for us to show up to a cramped and super tight table. Inside was spoken for by another bridal shower, so there was no need to force us into a tight space. Ah well, it was still a spectacular event with lots of laughs and full stomachs.
I have since returned a full year later– I took my mom for her Mother’s Day present this year. I called to make a reservation and left a message on their message service. Unfortunately no one returned my call, so Mom and I decided to just show up at 11am Friday May 6^th. The owner was very gracious, apologized for no return call, and admitted they were already booked up for the weekend. She easily could have let us walk out, but she nicely asked if we’d possibly be finished by 1pm, and we said yes definitely. She then let us have a table for 2 by the door! I admit I was irritated at first that no one called me back, but I realized it was completely my fault for underestimating the holiday and being so last minute. We had a fantastic high tea with an abundance of food. They even had soy milk for me to enjoy and were very accommodating with my special food requests.
I have nothing but high praise for Tea List and can’t wait to return with others.

My bestfriend and I always loved visiting tea rooms back in the Bay Area. And, when we moved to Sacramento, we were looking everywhere for one, so when we found this place near the area, we were dying to go.
It was hidden behind some complexes, so it was a little hard to find at first. This place was extremely adorable. The colorful umbrellas made for such great lighting and gave that «chill» vibe perfect for hangouts with the girlfriends.
We both ordered Mediterranean Plates, and Tea Pots of Peach Apricot Black Tea and the Coconut Oolong Tea. The tea pots looked a little different from what we were used to. They came in glass, lidless pots, rather than the ceramic containers, but again, everything was really cute and pretty. The Coconut Oolong was sweet and a little creamy. I really liked the Peach Apricot, as well, and it’s no wonder it’s one of their popular items. I would highly recommend these to try from their menu.
I thought the service was awesome. There was only one person attending to 5 tables outside and a few more inside, yet our orders did not take too long. He made sure we were taken care of.
My only comment is the expensive pricing. Although it was made available for mutliple steepings, their pots of tea ranges from $ 5.50 to $ 8.00. I thought this was a bit pricey, because some places only charge $ 3.00 per pot of tea. Nonetheless, I will visit again to try the other teas on the menu. I’ve also been eyeing their cheese plate.

I didn’t make reservation and decided to stop by on a Friday early morning. Luckily for me, there was indoor seating for high tea. It was such a nice day so it’s a bummer I didn’t have outdoor seating but it was still pleasant!
So this place is like a modernized high tea place. It’s casual but you can also dress up nicer if you want. The décor is simple and ambiance is more casual than other high tea places I’ve been to.
I felt like the food comes out pretty slow, I am not sure if this is something they do on purpose or they’re timing everything. As for the tea, it’s a glass pot with an infuser. It’s not fancy china or anything. Service is definitely slow here. They gave us our tea and 10 – 15 minutes later, they asked if we wanted cream or sugar — definitely a delay.
Then, after 15 – 20 minutes, we get our scones with the cream and fruit preserves. It comes out nice and warm. I really enjoyed this.
Lastly, we get our food on the three tiered stand. I think the sandwiches are pretty tasty and they taste fresh. I actually like the chicken curried sandwich. The fruits are okay. As for the french desserts, I like the macarons, but then again, who doesn’t? I was pretty full afterwards, I think if you’re eating a lot of bread like things with tea, it’ll fill you up.
I think it was a fun experience but I personally wouldn’t come back again. I don’t think it’s worth it personally. The food was okay, but it’s more of the experience. I rather make my own tea sandwiches but then again, I don’t really like sandwiches.

3.5 stars but rounding up for feelin’ fancy and glamorous :)
This place isn’t really a place you can just walk in and expect to get in. It’s SUPER small, probably less than 10 tables, so make sure you make a reservation especially if you want the High Tea or Afternoon Tea! We walked in around 11:30am and they were very busy and told us to come back at 12:30pm. We did and got seated right away. We ordered the Afternoon Tea, and I got the Long Island Strawberry while my boyfriend got the Earl Grey. The tea was really good and made me feel so fancy hehe. First to come out were some raisin scones served with yogurt and peach jam. I didn’t really think I’d like it but it was lovely! Really good stuff. Then came the finger sandwiches– they had 6 turkey pesto, 6 cucumber mint, 4 chicken salad, and 6 garden vegetable. They were pretty good! The only one I wasn’t really too excited about was the cucumber mint. For dessert they gave us a vanilla cupcake and a chocolate cupcake, and two cookies with like a chocolate ganache on top. They were all really good too and they also gave some fruit. Overall, this is such a nice place to go on a date, or catch up with your friends when you’re feeling something a little fancier. Pretty good food, I’d just say it’s a bit pricey at $ 19.95 per person for Afternoon Tea and $ 29.95 for High Tea. Would come back again though!

I think Tea List is an extremely cute place to catch up with friends over afternoon tea. The difference between high tea and afternoon tea is about $ 10 but the actual meal isn’t that much different.
I’ve been here multiple times and have gotten afternoon tea each time. This consists of your choice of any of their fine teas, scones, fruits, desserts, and finger sandwiches. I love their Long Island Strawberry Tea. I’m not a huge fan of raisins which their scones have, but you barely notice them with the cream and jam. They give you two different desserts and four different sandwiches. The fruits usually consist of a variety of berries, kiwis, and apples.
Everything is really cute here so if you’re looking for a nice place to catch up with someone, maybe go on a date, or want to take your mom out, I’d recommend Tea List!

2.5 stars at most, not planning on returning. Overpriced, hidden charges not on the menu, and slow service. The immediate seating area is pleasant, but the adjacent alley is dirty and smells of urine.
We ordered a $ 9.95 sandwich and mentioned we were sharing it. It was served on two plates, which was nice, but when the bill came out, we were charged for two $ 5.50 half sandwiches instead ($ 1.05 extra). We should have been warned about that! The sandwich was not bad, and we didn’t get sick, but it wasn’t a $ 10 – 11 sandwich.
Similarly, the tea was not bad, but $ 5+ can buy a lot of good tea leaves and hot water.
This place is fine if you’re hosting visiting faculty and have a department credit card to foot the bill. It’s not good for students on a budget or regular folks looking for a nice place to frequent.

I brought my daughter here to celebrate her good grades last quarter. I’ve had trouble making reservations at other tea places, but had no trouble making one here for the same day. I think it was a Wednesday. The outside was adorable, but I had reserved an indoor table because I wasn’t sure what my daughter would like better. It was cute, but extremely cozy, and a bit on the dusty side.
The manager took the time to ask about dietary restrictions, and she definitely seemed to care… I think she just forgot about all of them because she was training someone that day. I really have no idea, but I got the impression that she had been running this place by herself for a while, and that this guy was only on day one. I was slightly entertained by watching him and remembering how confused I was when I found out that serving is actually hard.
So our food did come out wrong, but the manager took it back and fixed it right away, and it was really no big deal. My daughter had the children’s tea, and I had the high tea, so that we could split all of the extra stuff. According to the menu, there is a two-​person minimum for high tea, but I had called ahead of time (well, that morning when I made the reservation) to make sure it wouldn’t be an issue, and it wasn’t. I think the bill came out wrong originally, but it was because the new server had rung up the wrong thing. The manager fixed it for me right away, and then came back to talk to us and to congratulate my daughter for her schoolwork.
I didn’t try my daughter’s sandwiches, but mine were amazing. My favorite was like a garden sandwich with all kinds of vegetables and a balsamic dressing that was just pretty much everything you could ever want in a balsamic dressing… fresh… bold flavor, smooth texture… I’m starting to wonder if you can come here just to order a sandwich…
The cucumber and tzasiki? sandwiches were pretty bomb as well. The turkey and pesto was okay, which is saying a lot because I hate turkey (but love pesto). This pesto was good because it was not too heavy with pine nuts. There was also some kind of artichoke sandwich but I think I got too full to eat it. They are tiny little sandwiches but there was way more than enough food to fill us both up, and I think I was pretty hungry that day.
She had some kind of peach tea, and I had vanilla. They were both pretty good, but to be honest, maybe not quite up to par with tea that I’ve had in other tea parlors. Still, it was probably better than anything I could ever make at home. It took me a really long time to remember that a child would not drink tea without cream and sugar… but once we finally got those she ended up drinking almost her whole teapot. (Don’t worry, I didn’t let her go to town with it. And the last time I said she went to town she was like, «NO I didn’t! I don’t even know how to get to town!»)
My daughter ate all of the macarons because it turned out to be the only dessert she liked other than the fresh fruit. So I got to eat the petit fours and, if I remember correctly, there was some marzipan in them and it was on point. I was seriously shocked that my daughter didn’t like them, but I try not to question when extra dessert comes my way.

This place will always have a special place in my heart because it was where I had my first official date with my boyfriend and the sweet owner took a picture of us without knowing the situation haha. At that time, we sat outside and just had two pots of tea. I love the variety of teas that she has along with the cute pots. It’s such a relaxing place.
I’ve gone here multiple times after with my girlfriends for the high tea and loved the cute sandwiches and cakes. It is a little pricey, but the experience is cute and pleasant. Service isn’t always fast if it gets busy with a ton of other small or big groups. Don’t expect to get full off of the little sandwiches and cakes, but if you just come here once in a while it is a cute experience to go to with loved ones!

I visited Tea List and had a disappointing experience. I ordered the High Tea service to split between myself and one other person. I saw that they increased the price to $ 30 per person. We thought, what the heck, let’s just go for it since we don’t come to Davis very often. I was told that a split plate would add an extra 25% to my bill. I was expecting this, but we decided to order something else, the Mediterranean Plate, to avoid the extra charge.
I really thought the High Tea would come with enough food for at least one person to be decently full. When the food came out, there was barely any sandwiches on there. The only difference between High Tea and Afternoon Tea is that they add one small dessert and 2 extra sandwiches (a curry one and a salmon one). I don’t think that justifies the $ 10 price difference between the two. Plus, they only included one curry sandwich and one salmon sandwich, whereas, all the other sandwiches (the ones that are same as the Afternoon Tea) come in pairs. I don’t think a High Tea will even get one person full, unless you were not that hungry to begin with.
Good thing we ordered the Mediterranean Plate, which was quite good. It came with hummus, vegetables, a small salad, and pita bread. The hummus was one of the best ones I’ve had, and the dressing on the salad was very tasty (I think it’s a type of balsamic).
I knew this place was expensive before, but I definitely don’t think the High Tea is worth the price. I would recommend ordering the Afternoon Tea over the High Tea since it is $ 10 cheaper and you basically get the same food. I think the amount and quality of food in the Afternoon Tea is worth the price if you really want that UK tea experience.
Service was a bust today. It took forever for our food to come. The owner did tell us they were short one waiter today, but I don’t see how that has anything to do with why it took so long for our food to come out (unless the waiters help make the food too???). I think we were there for around two hours which is a long time considering their food is not that difficult to make (just simple sandwiches, salads, and desserts). We weren’t in a hurry to get anywhere, but it still was kind of ridiculous. Although, the owner was very apologetic about the slow service, which was nice of her to tell us.
I’m not sure if I would want to come back here in the future. Since moving out of Davis last fall, I would often crave the Tea List experience. I don’t really have that feeling anymore after my experience there today. I still really like the food, and would consider coming back for special occasions. But I think there are better food options in downtown Davis if you are looking for a quick and simple meal.

Full disclosure: I used to work here, so here’s a little guide on how to Tealist.
DO make reservations! It gets packed on the weekends! If you’re wanting to come in for a random afternoon tea or high tea service, you might have to wait a while, and I mean… it could be a long time, as the space is very small. Saturday morning is typically busiest. Also if you make reservations you will get your food faster as they have time to prepare your order. And let the person on the phone know if you have any dietary restrictions.
But do it! Afternoon tea is a GREAT experience. And they have kid’s tea service options as well. If you have two people and you’re hungry, get the afternoon tea for two, trying to share is ill-​advised, and you won’t be very full.
Note: for afternoon tea and high tea there are less tea options, but there’s still a good range of black, herbal, white, etc. and most caffeinated ones come with a decaf option.
If you have a little extra cash to burn, check out the high-​tea, it comes with a little more options like salmon sandwiches, and a few more desserts. Read: MORE FOOD.
The weekday’s are typically less busy, but make a reservation just in case.
Tea: Order a cup, not a pot, your waitress will be happy to refill it with hot water when needed (unless you’re sharing obviously).
Try all the Persian blends! The owner is Persian, so these are super yummy.
One of the most popular teas during my time here was the strawberry green, and boy is it good, also a crowd favorite: vanilla rooibos.
Looking for something a little more adventurous? Try the coconut oolong, it’s a little more expensive, but a personal favorite.
And you can always ask your waitress for recommendations!
You can buy the tea! Liked what you drank? Ask you waiter to see the tea leaf menu– prices are different from the cup or pot price.
It comes in a cute little bag with steeping instructions on it, good for gifts!
In the spring and summer get your tea made into an iced version!
Items to skip: the pb&j, it’s just a pb&j.
Items to try: The matcha latte! The chicken salad! And in the winter, the butternut squash soup– people go crazy for this.
The scones are off the charts, fresh made daily, and the clotted cream is fresh as is the jam.
Don’t forget to check out the desserts in the display case as well! Skip the madelines, and try the pear cake, or tiramisu– the owner makes these. You won’t regret it.
That said, the place is small, and like I said if it’s busy and you didn’t make a reservation, it might take you a while to get your food. During my time there we were typically short staffed – the kitchen is as small as the restaurant itself.
Good atmosphere, cute jazz music, perfect Instagram opportunity.

This place is great to have a little ladies date ! Although the location is kind of hard to find because its secluded from the other stores … It’s super cute and a little tiny but enough room to move around .
The waitress was super polite and helpful. But the wait was pretty long, I believe I waited like 40 mins but I can’t really blame them since they seemed to have like 3 workers at the time .
I ordered the afternoon tea !
The tea I had was bourbon vanilla white tea and it was quite delicious. As for the sandwiches it was really REALLY tiny and the fruits were BARELY bite sized. So for the price of 19.99 I don’t think I’d come here again .

A Sunday afternoon High Tea with friends (just the ladies) at the elegant Tea List café in Davis. Only had heard about Linde Lane in Dixon before for tea, and this is no Temple Coffee tea experience either.
High Tea Service (~$ 25−30/person) is the same as the Afternoon Tea Service (choice fo tea, scone with Devonshire cream and fruit preserves, assorted small tea sandwiches, pastry and fruit, ~$ 18−20/person) with additional small tea sandwiches (smoked salmon, curried chicken salad, cucumber mint, garden veggie) and gourmet French desserts.
We had 12 in our group and it was such a wonderful time! Located behind the Mustard Seed. Was a nice day and we were seated outdoors, long-​table style, pretty flowers decorated the table too. Can’t remember which teas we ordered specifically but I recall one had a rose flavor, and one was more fruity, maybe peach? All the noms were refreshing and paired well with the teas.
There is 18% service charge for parties 7+, and 24 hour advance reservations required for parties 3+. They even have a Children’s tea service if your little ones want to come along.

What a pure delight to find this gem. It’s tucked away in a little corner of downtown Davis, amidst the small boutique shops that are all within a walkable distance from one another.
My friend and I came without a reservation on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We sat outside and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of colorful potted plants, whispering water fountain, and cheery guests who all came to pause and reflect if just for a moment. There was even the cutest toddler that was so adorable to watch walking around the open court. Even men came out for some tea!!! This place is definitely a hit amongst locals.
I ordered a white rose mélange tea. And a smoked turkey sandwich. The aroma from my tea was so delightful. And when I opened the lid I could see tiny rose petals sitting in my strainer. It was so invigorating to be there in that space with all the sights and smells around me.
My sandwich was just the right proportion. I usually share these days a meal because the meal sizes are gargantuan. Or you might run into the problem of finding yourself not quite full because they are too upscale to give you a filling amount. This was just right, it also came with a fresh baby greens salad. All at a very reasonable price.
My friend enjoyed her selection of meal as well. I thought the waitresses were wonderful because they never came by too often to make you feel rushed, and they were very sweet when you did speak with them. It was if they were aware that people came here to talk, and they wanted to respect each person’s space to do that. The one part that made me giggle was the placement of the bathrooms. They share it with another establishment, so be prepared to go on a mini adventure to find it should you need to use their amenities. But it just added to the charm of the whole experience. I was delighted to be there the whole way through.
There are some fascinating gift shops and nice looking salons surrounding the area along the way. Everything about it felt like a charming way to spend an afternoon chatting with a friend. Afterward we walked to a near by park and just soaked up the sun. I had a lot of fun coming here and I hope to do again soon!

My friends and I came here for high tea ($ 29.95). The tea room is tucked in the back away from the main street. The place is much smaller than I thought it would be. There is an outdoor patio though. Each of us got a personal pot of tea and shared with each other. We were given hourglasses that let us know how long to steep the tea. I tried the Bourbon Street Vanilla, Organic Rose Mélange, Long Island Strawberry and Peach Apricot. I enjoyed all of them but the fruit ones more so. We were given scones with Devonshire cream and fruit preserves to start off with. I thought they were a bit dry.
The three tier stand came next. The top tier had fresh fruit. The middle tier had desserts (macarons, petit fours, and napoleons). The macarons I believe are from Whole Foods. The bottom tier had finger sandwiches (smoked salmon, curried chicken salad, cucumber mint, garden vegetable, and turkey pesto). Unfortunately, we found a long hair among the sandwiches. We pointed this out and were given another platter of sandwiches. Because of that, we were only charged for 4 people instead of 5. Overall, I thought the place was just ok. But I’ll give them another star for customer service.

Throughout undergrad I pestered my girlfriends to join me for Afternoon Tea. We were poor college students, so this wasn’t a usual thing for us.
Afternoon Tea: The only reason I came to Tea List… ever! My boy Andrew Jackson will get you a variety of fresh fruits (mostly berries), an assortment of different mini tea sandwiches, fresh scones, other pastries and unlimited tea refills. You have a certain number of teas you can chose from, so chose wisely. The sandwiches come in veggie, chicken and tuna if I’m not mistaken. My favorite part of Afternoon Tea is honestly, the tea. The Long Island Strawberry Green Tea is my absolute favorite, the combination of taste and aroma is just pure perfection. If you like GT and fruit, I recommend this tea. The scones are okay, fruit is always fresh and sweet and sandwiches are a great in providing the savory balance.
Ambiance: Just the cutest. I feel so girly every time I come here. Adorable and quaint trinkets on the walls, tables, etc. Attention to detail in all of the décor down to the table china. You’ll feel very relaxed here.
Service: Make a reservation! I promise you will likely need it. Service is good, they’re friendly and helpful in explaining the different teas and other items that come with the afternoon tea service.
Price:When I was an undergrad it was about $ 17/​person, which is extremely reasonable compared to Bay Area prices. However, the price has increased to about $ 20/​person. Still cheaper than Bay Area prices and still worth it.
Overall: I love this place, prices are a lot cheaper than in other areas, the quality of the tea service is exceptional. My guilty little pleasure.

Ambiance:
Really small, so not great for really large groups. Clean and quaint. The bathroom is quite a walk though so not the best for kids or the elderly.
Service:
When I called to make the reservation, the woman on the phone was very kind. She asked if we wanted Afternoon Tea ($ 20) or High Tea ($ 30). She quickly said that she thought the afternoon tea was very nice and plenty of food. I liked that she wasn’t pushing the more expensive option and actually encouraged the cheaper one.
They had one waitress for everyone inside and out. She was definitely stretched to the max between giving directions to the bathroom, replenishing hot water, serving food, and clearing tables. Thus, while I wasn’t impressed by the service, I didn’t dock a star because she was really working hard. However, when she first came around to ask what tea we wanted, we weren’t ready. When she came back, she was a bit abrupt: «Are you finally ready to order your tea yet?» Yikes… sorry.
Food:
The only downside is that you only get to choose 1 type of tea. At other tea places, I’ve been able to order more than one as long as we finished the first pot. The fruit, sandwiches, and desserts were yummy. And the scones were to die for! So good!

I absolutely love coming to tea list. I came here as a student and still come here as a graduate when I’m in town. This little café has such a calming ambiance and the owner is the nicest. Her aura is just calming and makes you feel that everything will be okay. I don’t know how she does it, but I feel 10x better when I walk into Tea List.
There is a wide selection of teas and I’ve tried a few of them. My absolute favorite would have to be the Peach Blossom White Tea. It’s on the pricier side for 2 oz but I suggest getting 1 oz instead and it’s almost an entire bags worth. Seriously, get 1 oz and you will not be disappointed. It is a pretty mild tea with a hint of peach but it is a white tea so very light. I usually buy the orange blossom honey from the Davis farmers market and put a little of it into the tea. Delicious! Honey compliments the tea so well!
I’ve also tried the Strawberry green tea which also has a subtle flavor. It’s raw smell can be a little sweet but the tea tastes fine. The moroccan mint is also quite nice if you’re into mint flavors. I am partial to the peach blossom but I’ve only heard good things about their tea. I only wish the Rose Mélange had more rose in there but that’s a personal preference.
Check this place out! A little pricey for food but an afternoon tea once in a while is fine for the wallet.

This little café behind the art museum is definitely the place to go if you are looking for a cute date out or a light brunch with the ladies. It has the perfect, spacious outdoor sitting area with little round tables– instantly giving a cozy feeling to whoever you are having tea with. When my friend introduced me to this place, I was so thrilled– but still full from breakfast: no room for afternoon tea! Instead, we settled for their fresh baked treat of the day: almond and pear cake, with a serving of fresh fruit, and a pot of blooming green tea.
The waitress was very nice as she explained the specials and poured hot water into the glass pot, right on top of the blooming tea bud. It took longer than the little timer she set on the table for the tea to actually ‘bloom’, but waiting was worth it since in the end, the whole set up made for quite a good picture!
On top of aesthetics, the food was delightful: everything looked and tasted like there was effort put into the preparation. The almond-​pear cake is a must get: light on the palette with a subtle sweetness and texture difference from the pieces of pear in the cake itself. The fruit cup was pretty good too: simple fruit, though I spotted some seasonal fruit– such as persimmon for the beginning of autumn, and raspberries to celebrate the ending of summer (California summer at least. Sorta? Davis was pretty comfortable during my few days there.). When we went inside to pay, the hostess was very hospitable and extremely sweet.
If I’m ever in Davis again, I will have to go to this quaint tucked-​away café once more. It has just charmed me to no end!
