Stayed here 1 night. The hotel evening staff was nice. We paid for a smoke free facility, smoke free signs are everywhere, but the halls, elevator, and room smelled of cigarette smoke, stale and current usage. Room was clean, breakfast was ok. Hopefully the management will begin to enforce the no smoking policy.

This is a great location. Very close to a huge amount of shopping and a new Whole Foods, with plenty of places to eat nearby and great access to the freeways. It clearly has been recently updated and the staff seems nice. I hated the design of the rooms though. There is a huge mirror that you are forced to look at if you want to sit at the desk and work. Generally newer places have more outlets as well. It seems like the person who designed the room never actually had to spend the evening working in a hotel room. Complaints aside, I will be staying here again when I’m in Dayton. I love the shopping and the price was reasonable.

I was way early to try and check in. Normally it is at 3pm, but they were kind enough to let me check in at 1030am. That was an added bonus. The room was clean, had a fridge and a microwave, I was impressed. Nice big bathroom.

We have a Carlson loyalty card, so we gave this place a try. You definitely can’t beat the price for this place… we were here to visit an exhibit at the Dayton Art Institute and the places right downtown cost nearly 2 times the price of this place… so we opted for this place out in the burbs. Didn’t experience the problems other folks have cited here, so it was a win for us. Carlson has run hot and cold with us in the past, though. Not nearly as consistent as I’d like to see across the chain, but we’ve got the loyalty card because we often visit family in Grand Rapids, Michigan… and the Country Inn and Suites there is a nice place and a convenient location for us.

Well I was really disappointed. We love the Country Inn & Suites we’ve stayed at in the past and thought this would be the same, sadly it was not. Good parts — Check in/Check out. Very easy and quick. So-so– The rooms. These were tiny compared to other Country Inn & Suites that I’ve stayed at. The bathroom was nice, but we found that anytime the shower ran it flooded the bathroom floor regardless of how the curtain was. That was a pain. The beds were comfy, but the walls are very thin. I could hear everything from upstairs and next to us. It wasn’t bothersome until we tried to sleep and the people around us were letting their kids run around all night. That made sleep near impossible for me. Bad parts– Breakfast was such a letdown. It’s usually good for a continental style, but not at this one. The eggs were not cooked at all and very rubbery. The sausage was extremely rubbery and hard. The biscuits were also very hard. The pancake machine was slow and since the rest of the food was awful was being used by everyone. The bagels, toast, muffins, and pastries were fine, but I was hoping for more. The pool, the whole reason I choose this place was because they had a pool and according to the website a hot tub. I was extremely letdown to find that they had a sauna instead. People are looking for hot tubs, not saunas. I won’t stay here again unless they change things and will stear my family and friends elsewhere as well.

Comfy beds and nice sized rooms. Great off location gym to go to while you stay. Free pizza and beer on Wednesday nights.

Well, now, this is a letdown. Traveling for work and staying in a hotel we were moved to after the company decided to save 10 bucks. I’m not impressed. From the outside, it looks nice enough, even fairly new. When I walked inside, I was impressed. The breakfast area looks good, and if you have a room on the second floor, there is a nice open gathering area with furniture and a TV. If I have one favorite thing, it’s the pillows. They are just how I like them. BUT… that’s not enough to offset the issues I have had since I have been here. I can honestly say that in one night I have had two rooms. Why? Well, within a half hour of me settling in for the evening, I heard a sound coming from the bathroom. I thought there was something strange going on with the plumbing since it sounded like running water. It was. It was running water coming from the ceiling into my tub. When I found that, I decided I should call the desk and inform them so I could switch rooms. Unfortunately, I couldn’t do that. The phone was not plugged in! Maybe someone took the cord as their own personal joke. I have no idea. I’ve never had that happen before. So I got settled into my second room. Like the first, everything seemed nice enough. Pretty much what you’d expect. I even got comfortable enough to sleep for a few hours! With luck, I’ll get a few more in. The problem is the air system. It has one speed — HIGH. They were thoughtful enough to put a piece of plastic on that diverts the air directly into the room, but this means that there is probably a 5 degree difference(at least) between the times the air is on and off. I have the thermostat set at 68. When it’s off, the air is stagnant and it feels warm. When it’s on, it blasts, and I have to get under the covers. There is no in between. So be prepared to pick your battles. Throw off the covers and sleep in a warm room(in the summer) with the air set at a warm temperature, or be prepared to have it constantly go on and off, blasting the room with a cold wave of air for a few minutes before shutting off. If there were a low fan setting available, that would be terrific. If I’m back this way again next year and the boss tries to use this place again, we’re going to have a problem!
