Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Dinner for 4 last Friday was not very good and way overpriced. The small sliced filet was the special and was served over a mix of bacon, onions, and something else and was priced at $ 32; the filet was tasty but not the mix. Of course, this did not include any side dishes. The short ribs were over cooked and very dry. The Fleming’s potatoes were enjoyed by all but priced at $ 14 which is more than stated on the menu. Our dessert was suggested by the waiter and was very good — a chocolate lava cake with ice cream — but cost $ 14. Shame on us for not asking the waiter the price. The company was good as was the waiter but cannot recommend this restaurant.

This was an absolutely remarkable disappointment. I’ve heard so many good things from so many different people over the years, but time and circumstances kept us from ever trying it.
My wife and I finally got here on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Our day’s schedule meant an early reservation was mandatory. I selected the first seating of the day. We arrived 20 minutes early, expecting to wait at the bar until dinner service started — because that’s what high end steakhouses do. Yeah, not here. We were rather coldly turned away at the door.
We slogged through the cold rain to Pies and Pints (review to follow!) to give them our money instead, since Fleming’s didn’t want it. We slogged back in time for our reservation, waited several minutes despite being the only ones in the lobby, and were finally seated.
I’ll keep this short. The server was incompetent. He tried to make up for it by being attentive, but only succeeded in being annoying. We expect a quiet, romantic atmosphere here.
The food was poor. The piece of meat I got was NOT worthy of being called USDA Prime. Prime cuts do not have that much connective tissue in them. Maybe I just got a bad piece, I guess. Our steaks were also overcooked.
The Fleming’s potatoes that I had heard so much about were okay, but not worthy of the hype.
We dropped $ 140 here (2 drinks, 2 entrees, tax, tip) and I’d seriously rather eat at Outback. We are regulars at the Paragon. For $ 120, we could have the same meal there or at Pine Club, and it would be far, far superior.

Our Family had a belated Christmas Eve dinner this past Monday. I’ve been to Fleming’s many times in the past and always thought it was mediocre. This trip, it was terrible. The restaurant was so noisy when we were seated for our 6:30 reservation, that a conversation was impossible.
First, our shared appetizers came without individual plates… we had to use our bread plates. Breadcrumbs ruined the otherwise delicious pork belly with polenta.
Between courses, our waiter broke a stem off a wine glass over the table. We had to ask him to replace the water glass that was under it when it broke, then point out there were glass shards on the table.
The only vegetable sides were creamed spinach, Thai sauced green beans, and grilled asparagus. The asparagus was covered in cracked pepper that burnt when it was over cooked. One person ordered the Salmon without the sauce, plain with butter and salt. It arrived coated in what looked like black sesame seeds… it was black pepper. Another person ordered the salmon without changes… still a lot of pepper, but OK with the sauce. Our other side, baked potatoes did not come at all. On a positive note, one person ordered the craftsman ribeye… it was cooked perfectly.
It was 15 minutes before anyone came to ask about our meals. The manager that finally checked on us tried to make it better, but now one person was eating alone and baked potatoes are not my idea of dessert.
One final service issue was related to our wine. I appreciate that they move you bottle and insist on pouring it for you like many upscale restaurants. Unfortunately, the only time our server refilled a glass was when one of us got up to pour our own.
While most of these issues could have been avoided by a better server and manager, there where others, not mentioned, that should have been handled by an experienced kitchen staff. Maybe it was the Monday night staff.

We went in for the Sunday brunch today and it was amazing! I ordered the prime rib hash and let’s just say I was a proud member of the clean plate club. My husband ordered the chilean sea bass and not only did he finish off all the fish, he ate all the vegetables served with it. Some might think why even call that out and what adult doesn’t eat their vegetables, but for him to eat the tomato and onions — it’s a big deal. Do yourself a favor and order multiple side orders of the bacon, not because there isn’t enough to share but because you won’t want to. Your welcome for that tip. We finished off the meal by sharing some berries and chantilly cream (you could add that chantilly cream to just about anything and I’d eat it) and it was the perfect light dessert to finish off the meal.

We eat here a lot! My husband was raised on a black angus cattle farm so he knows a good steak and locally this is almost as good as it gets (Pine Club is as good as it gets). Last Saturday evening (Oct 26) was definitely an «off» night! We could not get a reservation until 8 so the place was busy and it appeared as though our waiter «Chris» was given more tables than he could manage. We have had Chris wait on us numerous other times and he is usually a very good waiter, relatively speaking. I say this because service has always been extremely slow here. Someone came over to take our cocktail order and told us that Chris would be right with us. Cocktails took much longer than they should have but when they arrived, mine was fabulous. The hubs ordered wine and said it was just «ok» which confused me later in the evening because he ordered a second glass (this wine was not inexpensive either!). I had the blueberry, lemon drop martini and it was delicious but too sweet for a second cocktail. For my meal, I had the prime rib special which was really a great deal (prime rib, side, salad and dessert for $ 29.95). My meal was excellent and actually exceeded expectations. My husband was not as pleased but I did not find that out until our ride home. «Chris» suggested that the hubs try the «Craftsman» ribeye. My man is a big ribeye fan so he ordered it. Not good… apparently this cut makes the ribeye fairly tough. We also tried the Flemings potatoes which we had never ordered prior to this visit and they were delicious. For our dessert, we got the lava cake and carrot cake (we both got desserts with our meals). The lava cake was quickly devoured in the restaurant by the two of us and it was a chocolate mountain of love! So rich but oh so very good. We took the carrot cake home and it was just «ok.» We did have a pretty big hiccup with our service but it was kind of amusing. When I was presented my meal, the server (someone assisting «Chris») sat an empty plate in front of me after serving my husband and stated «enjoy.» Seriously??? Now this plate was beautifully garnished with chopped parsley all over it but I don’t consider parsley a meal, let alone one that I would enjoy. I laughed and replied «what the hell am I suppose to enjoy?» Chris was table-​side within a few seconds and apologized, advising the kitchen thought we were sharing a meal. I have not shared a meal with anyone since my children were toddlers (and they are now 33 and 30 so it has been a very long time). Chris took care of the situation and my meal did come out fairly quickly but ideally, it would have been nice for it to have arrived the same time my husband’s meal did. Although we took advantage of some specially priced options on this evening, our bill was still hefty and service was extremely slow. For what we pay here, we expect perfection on every single visit. I don’t blame Chris for the slow service. It was very apparent, they were short-​staffed and he had far more tables than he could handle. Eli (the manager) did check on us and was aware of the «hiccup» that I mention above but he did not even comp us a cocktail. Not sure we will continue to make this our go-​to place for celebrations and/​or a good steak. For the price we pay here, we can get better service and more consistently great meals. Flemings is very convenient to our home though so who knows. Great food most of the time, good food all of the time, superior food and service not anytime.

Never a bad experience here. I have always received the very best treatment by servers, who handle my orders like they would their own family’s (the difference is definitely noticeable when you go to other restaurants in comparison). They even impressed the Iron Curtain (i.e. my mother), who had nothing but rave reviews after having the store manager hold the door for her on the way out. Any place that makes her happy is a truly magical place indeed.

Boy oh boy, this is one fine restaurant. We arrived at 5:20 on a Saturday, which was perfect because by 6:00 they were already getting super busy. All of the staff were friendly and didn’t come off snobby at all which thrilled me since I’m a t-​shirt, jeans and Chucks kind of girl. Our waiter Christopher was great and made sure all of our meals hit the table at exactly the right time. I enjoyed how dark the interior of Fleming’s was, nice and intimate so I can totally see why this is an anniversary kind of place. My husband and I started with the small plate of lobster tempura as our appetizer and it was absolutely divine! I believe it was 4 split lobster tails deep fried in a crispy airy tempura batter and served with a mystery sauce that really complimented the fresh tasting lobster. For dinner I ordered the 14 oz Wagyu NY Strip which was cooked a perfect medium rare. This was my first time nibbling on Wagyu and I must say it was super tender, and the cast iron crusty finish on the steak was incredible. My husband’s filet was also cooked right on and was super fresh and tender. I loved the Fleming’s signature potatoes, but the chipotle mac & cheese was a little too subtle with both the chipotle AND the cheese flavors so I was a tad disappointed with that. We then shared the chocolate lava cake that was served with Chantilly whipped cream and ice cream topped with pistachios… pure Heaven!!! This place is definitely expensive, so come prepared to spend some dough. My husband and I had a $ 100 gift card, which cut our bill in half thankfully, however I would say this food and the experience combined made this trip to Fleming’s worth every single penny with or without a gift card. If you’re on a budget though I would recommend ordering a small plate and a dessert — two delicious necessities that they nailed on our visit! We will definitely be going back in the future and I hope it’s soon :)

The food and service at Fleming’s was superb! The prices are expensive but this is more of a special occasion kind of place in my opinion. Total cost for our group was about $ 70/​person but everyone was satisfied with what they got!

The steaks are great! Frankly it’s the only reason to eat here. The desserts are ok the wines are 3 to 4x. The servers are great!
But the thing that sticks in my mind is the price. Dinner for two with 2 drinks and one glass of wine ~$ 300 with 20% tip. I’ve eaten at many places around the world worth that price but a chain steak house isn’t it. For my money The Oakwood Club is a much better value for half the price.
However I will eat the coffee rub steak there again… in about 4 years when I just need a good great hunk of meat.

I am not a fan of chain restaurants, but Flemings is an exception. Their staff members are very professional and hospitable. The steaks are perfectly prepared and they are willing to accommodate any preferences, of course for a price. The wine list is extensive and the cocktails are great. I only wish they had grass fed or lifetime free hormones and antibiotics options. They did not advertise this as an option on the menu and so for that reason, I probably will continue to by my steaks at DLM as they are lifetime free and grassfed and just grill them out. It is actually cheaper. However, if we are not in the mood to cook and the Pine club is closed, we will consider this restaurant again.

The Sunday Sonoma is Superb !
I enjoyed smoked salmon omelet with potatoes and berries with whipped cream. My wife enjoyed porcini crusted filet with roasted carrots and Gorgonzola cream sauce. Service was excellent

We’ve been to great steakhouses all over the U.S. and abroad. Fleming’s has the best steaks we’ve ever had. Period. From the first bite to the last, you’ll be rolling your eyes in ecstasy. The service is impeccable. Everything else is equally great, deserving of praise in itself, but seems to fall to the wayside after experiencing the steak. If you want to make a special occasion more special, take your party here.

Flemings is a reputable steakhouse and this particular Flemings delivers food just barely squeaking in as acceptable for a Flemings. I find this location to be much like the rest of the Greene — resting on its laurels and doing little or absolutely nothing to actually be or stay «the best» in the marketplace. The service also just meets the general Fleming benchmark, but barely. Far from my best steakhouse experience and far down on the bottom of my Flemings experiences in other cities.

Very good steaks served here. The food is excellent as is th service. The baked potato was hot and just right as was the other vegetables and the salad. The price is a little high but the food and service warrant a good price so I cannot complain. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a fine meal.

We went here for dinner with a group of 6 on a week night and the place was pretty quiet. There were only about 8 other guests in the restaurant when we were there, which seemed a little different to me.
We started with a bottle of Pinot Noir, a beer and a Moscow Mule for drinks. We also ordered the Mussels to start. The server also brought warm bread to the table.
Our server was great, and I will say that he worked the whole table by himself amazingly well. At this level of a restaurant, I would have expected to see an assistant or at least someone to help with water, bread, etc. but this guy was killing it all by himself — this is truly how this rating went to three stars.
For dinner we ordered 3 Seas Bass, Double thick pork chops, NY Strip Steak and a Prime Ribeye. For sides — which they say are large enough to share as a group, but really are a size for two people maximum, we got Fleming’s Potatoes, Truffle Mashed Potatoes and Mac and Cheese.
My pork chops were well prepared and were good, my boyfriends NY Strip was prepared correctly and was okay, it really lacked flavor in our opinion. The Sea Bass was served in a broth with vegetables and it was good, as was the Ribeye. Nothing of the main dishes really stood out and said «Bam» in your face this is face full of flavor.
The sides were decent, my favorite were the truffle mashed potatoes, the Flemings potatoes were overdone and the mac and cheese was luke warm.
For the six of us it was a little over $ 450.00, which in my opinion was too expensive for the food we received.
I would pass in the future and stick to my old stand by that is just my personal opinion.

The calamari and caprese skewers and artichoke dip were just okay
the steak was the only really good part about our whole dinner.
Even the accompaniments where lackluster. They were at the potato gratin and the green beans both were nothing to write home about
and the cheesecake was kind of lackluster
I wish I had tried the crème brûlée instead
the service and ambience are great
the bread was hot and fresh with blue cheese butter and sun-​dried tomato butter as well
Another thing I enjoyed was the salad
The mixed drinks weren’t really innovative and lacked some finesse

This was our second time eating here. First time was fabulous. This time, not so much. We got the Sunday Prime Rib special (huge price break). Salad came out, my husband’s was soaked in dressing. Mine was fine. Prime ribs came out. We had asked for a quick sear on the grill, no problem. But the whole steak itself was ICE COLD, not just under cooked, but to the touch ICE cold. Sent it back to be heated, they took our sides to give us fresh ones (would have liked to eat those while we waited).
Same steaks came back, still a little cold, mainly the fat, which was weird. Very uneven temperatures thru out, icy & warm, but no hot. Our same sides came back, too (our bites were missing). Not even heated up as much as first served.
We were very surprised to get back all our original food. The steaks were very fatty for being pre-​trimmed. I missed my favorite part, the little outer 1 inch section. They offered fresh steaks, but by then, we lost our taste for it.
Service was friendly, she tried to make things right, but we left very disappointed with our food for the evening.
Update: Aimee, from their management, reached out to me thru a Unilocal message that I should contact her, so she can hear more about my experience. I emailed her. She never replied. Guess it was an empty sentiment. Very disappointed that she just dropped the ball

Exquisite dining experience. The atmosphere is plush and staff is friendly and accommodating. Went there for anniversary and it was perfect. They had card waiting on our table when we were seated. Gave us chocolate truffles and a gift card for visiting on our anniversary. We both got big
Filets mashed potatoes and onion rings. Chocolate lava cake is perfect ending. Make sure you tell them you want the lava cake when they bring out your food cause it takes 20 mins to prepare. Only criticism I would have was that one of the filets was a little fatty which shouldn’t be at all for $ 47

First and foremost, I’d like to recognize our server, James L., who was attentive, engaging and exceptionally helpful. He has a wonderful sense of when to check up on his clients and when to pass by when they’re engaged in conversation. I can’t say how valuable his service was in helping close some important business.
As for the food, it was simply outstanding. I recently ate a Morton’s for a business dinner and while the steak there was good, it wasn’t that level of perfection you expect when spending $ 50 on an 8 ounce filet. But this steak was everything I could have hoped for. I asked for medium rare and that’s what I received. And there’s no need for anything to touch this steak but your knife and fork. It’s simply perfection.
The sides are equally as impressive. They easily accommodated my request to put the baked potato accoutrements on the side. Additionally, the Thai green beans were just slightly al dente without being underdone or overbearing on the spice.
Overall, the atmosphere is excellent for a business dinner. We had a table for seven in the middle of the restaurant and weren’t disturbed at all during the evening.
The next time I’m closing up a deal, I’m coming here!

Great dining experience! Just be prepared to pay for how good it is.
I’ve had dinner here twice and both times the food and service was excellent. I got the filet mignon with gorgonzola sauce the first and second time. The meat is succulent and cooked to perfection. I went with the option of glazing it with butter and having it charred the second time, and that turned out to be a good choice. I ordered the diablo shrimp to go along with the steak. Three very large shrimp for $ 12; expensive but delicious. My dinner companion ordered the special that night, which came with a filet mignon with more of a ginger/​lemon glaze. It was good too, but I preferred my gorgonzola. She also got a full tail of lobster and her own personal bowl of butter, heated with a flame. I actually preferred the lobster tail to my shrimp, and it was about the same price.
The two waiters I’ve had have been cordial, knowledgeable, and seemed pretty happy to be at work, so no complaints there. I got extra bread and butter both times upon request. The bread, by the way, is a meal all unto itself, so be careful not to get distracted.
