Specialties
The Alahverdian Research & Education Foundation benefits communities, nonprofit organizations, and local governments with its vast network of resources and contacts. We take pride in helping your organization achieve optimal performance and efficiency. Our organization is based upon the values and principles of Nicholas Alahverdian, a pioneer in crafting dynamic legislation and quickly gaining bipartisan support for issues that affect all Americans: healthcare, education, and government spending. Mr. Alahverdian has been involved in either state or federal government as an employee or lobbyist since 2002. At the age of 14, he became the youngest lobbyist in the history of the State of Rhode Island, leaving his government job as a legislative aide in an effort to advocate for better treatment of youth in the care of the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families. It is by the that very principle — service over self — that the Trust will assist in the optimization of your organization.
History
Established in 2013.
The Trust combines Nicholas Alahverdian’s resources, expertise, and vast network of contacts across various industries with the experience of attorneys, lobbyists, consultants, physicians, and other professionals in an effort to help local nonprofit organizations and government agencies optimize their services and products, focusing on efficiency and strategy development.
A large part of Mr. Alahverdian’s legislative advocacy has focused on foster care reform, and it is appropriate to integrate into the mission of The Trust. First, The Nicholas Alahverdian Scholarship has been announced. This exciting opportunity will offer a grant to students who commit to carrying on Alahverdian’s crusade of ensuring that children and adolescents from disadvantageous circumstances have a fair chance at receiving a challenging and unparalleled education. Secondly, a drop-in center for at-risk youth and an abuse hotline are currently being developed.
Meet the Manager
Nicholas A.
Manager
Nicholas Alahverdian is a public relations specialist, government affairs liaison, human services consultant and lobbyist. He attended Harvard University where he studied Comparative Literature with a primary focus in British Literature and the Goethe canon.
From 2002 through 2003, he served as a legislative aide to Representative Gordon D. Fox (former Speaker of the House) and Representative Beatrice A. Lanzi of the Rhode Island House of Representatives.
Alahverdian has been a registered lobbyist since 2003, when he became the youngest lobbyist in the history of the state.
Among hundreds of other bills he authored in conjunction with federal and state legislators, perhaps the most important of these was in 2011 when he pioneered a bipartisan legislative initiative to halt sending Rhode Island foster children to other states.
The elimination of unnecessary placement of foster children out of state is a remedy that will save the state over $ 10 million.
