American Deli

I’m only giving them 2 stars because their wings aren’t bad; just okay. You’re probably wondering why 2 stars. I ordered 30 wings and she’s trying to charge me extra to have more than one flavor. 30 wings, only one flavor. They’ve clearly lost their minds. I understand the traffic in the mall is slow, almost nonexistent but that’s not how you make money. It’s not like customer service is good either.

The best thing about American Deli is the wings; Hands down — I’ve never had the want or need for anything else on the menu. There’s a huge variety of flavors, it’s cheap (especially in a combo meal), and it’s a quick meal for if you’re on the go. I particularly like lemon pepper flavored wings, some places have the flavoring too unbalanced (too salty/​too bitter), but I’ve found they get it right here!
The staff is great, they’ve always been so sweet and again, they get your order ready quickly and efficiently. And while this probably doesn’t mean much, considering the state of North Dekalb, American Deli is definitely one of the mall’s draws.

Food:
This food isn’t fine dining, but it isn’t meant to be. I usually get either chicken fingers, their cheeseburger (which I really like), their philly sub-​sandwich or their wings with fried rice. The food is always up-​to-​par and always consistent. What I truly love about this place is that I know when I order something it will be just the way it was the last time I ordered it. Again, this isn’t the best food in Atlanta, but consistency goes a long ways with me.
Cost:
Appropriately priced and no complaints here.
Dining Area:
It’s inside the North Dekalb Mall food court, loads of seating, no issues here.
Parking:
Mall parking. No issues from me, but if you’re disabled it might be problematic.
Service:
They are always extremely nice, always fast and they have never messed my order up. I can’t say that about very many places, but this place is top notch in service.
Summary:
The food is always consistent and the service is always great. I will continue going here and recommending them to everyone.

While on my lunch break, I tried the North DeKalb Mall Food Court for a quick meal. American Deli had really good wings my first two visits, but I also loved (and was a little surprised) the Philly cheesesteak I had last time I was there. The food was relatively fast, affordable prices and convenient, so I will go again after checking out the other few options in that food court. The staff was really nice and they didn’t yell at me from across the mall, which is always a bonus.

Apparently I’m in search of the best wings in Atlanta. American deli in the north dekalb mall is not in the running. Per a friend’s recommendation, I ordered the wings hot with lemon pepper. I did forget to ask for them extra crispy like my friend said to (but i don’t think that would have mattered).
The fries that came with it were just okay… after putting some season salt on them they greatly improved. The wings unfortunately were doused in lemon pepper seasoning so got seasoning caught in the back of my throat. I think if I had asked them for hot wings w/​a little lemon pepper they would have been good wings, if not a bit scrawny esp when compared to taco mac.
If you know of an awesome wing place with hot and spicy wings that are meaty, please let me know. In the mean time I’m stuck with the likes of American Deli.
