Be sure to ask important questions before selecting an orthodontist. If convenience and modern techniques are important to you then Dr. Mallory is not the orthodontist you want. His office is closed on every school holiday when it would be convenient to get an appointment so your child doesn’t have to miss as much school. And he is only open 4 days a week. He has no late or weekend hours. If your child is in high school, attendance is vital. His office hours make life very stressful especially if you do not live in Decatur. Find out what options are available for retainers before choosing an orthodontist. Dr. Mallory is what I would call «old school.» I did not realize this until I visited a different orthodontist due to a «miscommunication» between Dr. Mallory and my son. He refused to listen to what my son was trying to tell him about his retainer and just insisted the problem was not the retainer but due to my son not wearing it enough. That was NOT the problem. We decided to get a second opinion and not return to Dr. Mallory. We are going to a new orthodontist, spending more money but finally getting a solution that works for my son. Don’t make the mistakes I made. Ask about appointment times, office hours, and treatment options and get a second opinion. You won’t find convenience or clear retainers at Dr. Mallory’s office. I wish I had asked better questions before I wrote the check. To be fair, his office is clean and his staff is courteous. We never had to wait long to be seen and the visits were quick. Parents are welcome to sit in the treatment area with their child and ask questions. It’s all about what works best for your child. Don’t be afraid to interview multiple orthodontists before making a decision. It’s a lot of money and a lot of time so make sure your spending it wisely.

Dr. Mallory and his staff are great. I got braces put on by him about 5 years ago. My teeth are still good and I haven’t had anything go wrong with them. I still go in to get my retainer adjusted once a year.

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff that is organized and helpful. I love the text messages I receive to remind me of upcoming appointments, and the use of technology to make payments etc. My son loves Dr. Mallory and I would highly recommend his practice!
