Would give zero stars if I could. Worst, most humiliating and stressful experience I have ever had with an OB-​GYN. Showed up five minutes early to my appointment and sat in the waiting room for half an hour. When the nurse finally brought me in, she sat me down to do the normal check-​up routine. I told her what was going on and how worried I was (having been possibly exposed to some scary stuff) and she laughed in my face, asked if I’d been spending too much time staring at my lady bits with a hand mirror, and walked out of the room. No joke. By far not the worst of the experience though.
I had to get a full blood panel done, testing particularly for HSV 1&2 and hep-​C, which I was most worried about. They drew four vials of blood, and told me I’d get results back in two weeks. They scheduled another appointment for me to come in and get said results. A week later they emailed me my results– except for the particular tests I had specifically asked for. So I wait another week, and go back in to find out these results that could have a huge, life-​changing impact for me. I’m terrified. I go and sit in the waiting room for another half hour. The nurse brings me in and I wait for twenty minutes in the doctor’s office. Finally she comes in, and reads me. The same results they had emailed to me a week earlier. I try to keep my calm, and ask about the other, more important results. The doctor looks confused, clicks around some on the computer. «Well. I don’t know. It appears the lab made a mistake. The results aren’t in the computer.» She makes a call to LabCorp, who confirms that they do not have results. I am crying in anger and dismay at this point, having waited on pins and needles for two weeks to find out my results. The doctor keeps blaming the mistake on LabCorp– all the while it is incredibly obvious that she had forgotten to place the order for the test when I came in originally. She ends up drawing ANOTHER FOUR vials of my blood to re-​order the test, which I had to wait another week to get results for.
Long story short– my results came back negative, hallelujah! But I so wish I had saved myself the stress, humiliation and anger, and gone through a fast and super-​efficient site like STD Express, or found myself a lovely, caring OB-​GYN who would have helped me out in a difficult time. Will never return, and I suggest you avoid at all costs.

Dr. Kathleen Johnson is my ob/​gyn and I have never had an issue with her. She is very thorough and caring. I, also, have never had a long wait, which is why I usually have given my previous doctors the boot.

I don’t want to be extreme but this has got to be the worst experience I’ve ever had in a medical office. Without going into too much personal detail, I had to schedule an appointment with them because I was really sick and needed to see a doctor. Unfortunately, I got my period the day of the appointment. I called to give them a heads up and was treated so horribly that I actually broke down and started crying. They finally changed their mind and said that they would see me at the Stone Mountain Location. I got there and the girl up front was very nice and so was the nurse. I saw a nurse practitioner who decided that even though she was 99% sure of what was going on, she did not feel comfortable prescribing anything. I was in so much pain yet she ignored everything I said and told me to use over the counter meds that I had been using for days and were not working. No compassion. Luckily, I thought to call an urgent care place that I went to two weeks prior and tell them what happened. They were horrified and sent the prescription I needed to my pharmacy. I do remember that I spoke to an Erica and she was nice. There was so much more that went down but don’t want to bore you with the details. Bottom line, DON’T GO HERE!

I’m very disappointed. After viewing the website, I was ready to switch my prenatal care over to them from Emory. The first time I called, the lady I spoke with was extremely rude and acted annoyed that I had questions for her about the practice and type of prenatal care services offered. She then advised me to go to my next few appointments at Emory and not to bother making an appointment at Dekalb Women’s Specialists of Decatur until I had all of my medical records in hand (At all other doctor offices I’ve been to, including for me and even my daughter’s pediatrician, the new office requests the transfer of records).
The second time I called I was quoted a wait time of 1 min. I waited on the phone for 26 minutes until a lady answered and asked me to hold longer. She never returned to the phone, so I hung up after it had been 35 min.
Third call was just like the second. I GIVE UP!

Dr. Reynolds was very nice and knowledgable, HOWEVER it was everything else.
My appointment was at 8AM, and I was the first one there. I had to wait outside until 8:10 to go in, and THEN I waited until 8:50 to be seen by the nurse.
I went for my annual and had some pain in my abdomen. The lady that took blood, was nice but didn’t know what tests to take. AND then, it has been two and a half weeks and I still haven’t heard ANY RESULTS from my blood work or PAP Smear!!! Dr. Reynolds said they will call in 3 days with the results. WHAT??? I don’t even want to try to call them.
I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THEM AGAIN! Very unprofessional — not sure how they even run this business!

This is my first pregnancy and they have made me feel absolutely comfortable. Im a college student so they have been extremely understanding and helpful. The staff is extremely nice. I’ve never had any problems with my appointments.
There are long waits when you get there for your scheduled appointment, but they never rush you in and out. Dr. Johnson has been extremely helpful in answering all my concerns. She even personally called to check up on me when I was taking a medicine she prescribed me.

Terrible. This doctor’s office has the rudest front office staff ever. They told me my appointment was to be in their Decatur office several times, but it was actually at their Stonecrest office. They refused to accept responsibility for their mistake. I refuse to step foot in this practice again and would not recommend them to anyone. This is not the first time they have messed up my appointments.

I wouldn’t call them specialists. Went to them as a first trimester pregnancy. Dr. Johnson suspected I was having a miscarriage, which she robotically stated before exiting the room.
She never bothered to tell me that I would pass the fetus in a lot of pain, so when I started feeling painful contractions a week later, I was unprepared for what I experienced. Too much in pain to drive or go downstairs for water, I thought I was dying. I passed what was left in a horrid, painful two hours.
DeKalb Women’s «Specialists»? More like:
Uninterested care. Lack of knowledge. You can find better.

My first appointment for my third pregnancy to this clinic was very positive and I was in and out within an hour. However, my second and third appointment was ridiculous. I went to the office on May 12, to have an ultrasound done, which was fine, however I had to come back 2days later for some bulshit bloodwork that I could have done on the previous visit. My appointment was for 1015 on May 14, I did call them to say I might be arriving late because I thought my appointment was at 10am. When I got there I had to wait over 45mins to be seen by an incompetent nurse who never took the time to look into my file to see what my medical history was. Instead she asked me every single question that the first nurse covered in the intial visit. I asked her why she had to go over the questions again, and her reply was to make sure everything was correct. Now I ask why the hell would I change my information or medical history for each visit. So we waited an additional 45mins for the lady to say that she was going to do some blood work. That did not sit well with me at all. So she claims she tried to enter in the computer the order for the blood work but the computer inside the exam room was not letting her do it, so she said she would be back because she was going to enter it from another computer. Well almost an hour went by and my boyfriend and my 2 kids ages 2 and 1 were getting agitated. So I took my 1yr to the bathroom with me, and as soon I opened the door, the nurse that was supposed to be putting in the order ran to another room with another nurse laughing and being inconsiderate about my situation. So I did have the test done which only took us 3hrs to do. I was so mad at the nurse and the receptionist that I told them to cancel all my appointments and I had my records sent to my previous OB in Roswell whom delivered my 1yr old. I would not recommend going to this pratice unless you want to be another people that just dont give a damn about the patients.
