Locally owned and operated, Decatur Eye Center has been serving the community for over 25 years. Our optometrist, Dr. Fries, took over the practice in 2004.

Dr. Fries, along with the practice’s retina specialist and two ophthalmologists, work together as a team to provide a thorough evaluation of your vision and eye health, enabling them to diagnose and treat eye diseases. Dr. Fries is also a glaucoma specialist, and is trained in such advanced technologies as Optical Coherence Tomography. As an applied clinical nutritionist, Dr. Fries is certified in addressing the growing data that relates nutrition to eye health. Today, we’re learning how proper nutrition can make a significant difference in maintaining healthy eyes, particularly diabetic retinopathy and age-​related macular degeneration.
