Jazmin Spa

I got the SNS nail technique done last week. As of today it has already chipped. Also when I got my nails done no manicure was given with the nail technique. I asked for pink and I picked up the color but yet what was put on my nails was red. I insisted that it was the wrong color but the technician said that the display color was the exact color that I picked out. I know the difference between red and pink. As I was in a rush I didn’t argue but I went ahead and got the red just so I could leave. I would not recommend going to the spa for the SNS nails.

Came to this place because it’s in the same shopping center as CVS store I was in. My daughter is moving here and is in need of a new nail salon. We saw the poor reviews and usually would stay away from anything under 4 stars. We decided not to judge but give them a fair shot.
Upon entering I was greeted by the receptionist, she was very nice and after signing in she guided my daughter to the samples for gel colors. It’s a small selection compared to Las Vegas standards but a good selection. The waiting area has a single chair, no magazines or tv’s for entertainment. Soft spa music is played but very low, normal conversations override the music.
The stations are pedicure chairs. Whether you are getting your nails done or not, you are in a pedicure chair. Each chair is fairly close to the next, so be mindful of limited personal space.
After about 5 minutes a lady put cuticle cream on her nails and hands and put them in heated pouches and left for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, the receptionist asked if she could close out her check so she could close her register. This didn’t bother me, it’s was 20 minutes before closing and even if I didn’t like the service I would still pay the full bill. I think the receptionist was being efficient and wouldn’t be surprised if the owner expected her to have things done by closing time. She literally walked out for the day at 7:15, 15 minutes prior to closing.
Two men were moving the pedi chairs and doing some construction. Banging and hammering away just feet away from customers. They used a hacksaw in the back and you could smell the wood dust all throughout. With that much disturbance, they clearly should have waited 15 minutes for the last customer to leave. The customer experience does not seem to be priority here. It’s definitely NOT a spa. Don’t expect to have a spa experience here.
Once the manicurist began, she did continue the service without interruption. She was very friendly and talked us both about college life and her experience with her son. She actually earned this place the stars I did give. If it wasn’t an overall review, she would receive 5 stars. If you do decide to visit this place, ask for Kim Winn. She’s worth the headache of everything else. She loved her nails. Kim was gentle and efficient.
Laying in a pedi chair can be comfy for some but my daughter said she would prefer sitting at a station. It’s a personal preference, some people may actually like it.
A bonus is that they offer a 5% discount for paying in cash. We both prefer to pay in cash so I was happy about that. For a gel manicure, 1 solid color was $ 33. I tipped $ 5.

Save your money and just go to a regular nail shop that will cost you $ 28, not $ 44, not including your tip. The word «spa» is used very loosely here. When I think of ‘spa’ I think of a quiet, calming place. The chairs are set less than 2 ft apart, with the girls squeezed in between doing your manicure.
I felt like a twisted pretzel trying to hold up one arm and then the other for my manicure as the gal doing my pedicure is trying to massage my calves. Half the time the gal was talking to the other 2 gals giving pedicures and was trying to file my nails, but was actually filing my ‘finger’!
A cold bowl of water was put on my lap to wash my hands, with water splashing about. Not very ‘spa-​like’.
The polish I had chosen was so thick the gal had to remove it and start over with another bottle. Not very ‘spa-​like’.
The foot bath water was cold, not even warm and the bath is lined with a plastic trash bag. Not very ‘spa-​like’.

Overall, I’ve had good experiences with mani/​pedis at this salon. Front desk has always been welcoming and efficient, and I appreciate that they are flexible about doing just a polish change when that’s really all I need, or have time for. I also like the fact that I never get a strong whiff of chemicals when I walk in the door, a pet peeve. I am a little worried though, about all the booting going on in the parking lot of this shopping complex. If I got a really long service, I’m afraid my car might get booted!

Terrible experience with a pedicure here. The process was bizarre and the technician made me uncomfortable. I wrote the spa twice using their contact us form on their website with NO response. I will not be back to any of Jazmin Spa’s locations. Their customer service is no good.

For the money it’s not bad. But this is my second time coming here and they still have a problem with the water temperature. The water is cold and they have to go get water from the back. But ONLY after you inform them. I do think that they’re aware of the customers discomfort but act like they’re inconvenienced by having to get the water. They also do not speak English while working which is a pet peeve of mine when talking about proper etiquette. I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Had an excellent experience!!! Got a Pedi/​Mani and it felt like heaven. Kevin massaged my feet and legs with the hands of a God!!! I highly recommend going here.

jazmin «SPA»? really just a nail salon with jacked up pricing. i was cut by my tech THREE times during my pedicure yesterday. i’m diabetic so that’s a real no-​no for me. i wanted to love you JAZMIN spa.

I was disappointed. It was NOT a relaxing experience since nail technicians kept trying to get us to buy more expensive services — even hustling to get $ 10 more for 10 minutes «massage»!!!
One technician kept answering her phone which rang very loudly. I’ve been to other Jazmin Spa locations as well as this one before and never experienced these problems. I really hope the manager talks to these technicians because I am not ready to completely «divorce» Jazmin Spa yet…

I have had a good experience at this salon. I have had a pedicure (which lasted about two weeks) and get my eyebrows waxed every couple weeks. My office moved to downtown Decatur and I am big on convenience. I’ve had a pretty good experience at Jazmin in Little 5, where I used to live, so gave this a try. I have had waxes with Laura and Kathy. Both are courteous and professional. Laura also gave me a few product samples for skin care. I actually liked the samples so purchased a bottle of one of the cleansing products.
When I call, they can usually fit me in on or around the time I prefer.
It does smell SO MUCH in the waiting area because they put out products for people to smell before purchasing. It’s a little strong.

I’ve been to the location in little 5 points more frequently, but I’ve also been to the this location in Decatur.
All in all, I had an alright experience, but IT IS just like a run of the mill nail salon, where the nail techs spent the entire time chatting with each other in their native language (I always wonder what they are saying too… you have big feet… or you should see the pinky toe on this one!)

All in All
The Decatur location has a few more color options that Little 5, but not many. I like to have a HUGE selection of colors to chose from (no funky colors here, I actually bought in my own green color polish for St. Patty’s day, and EVERYONE in the spa was impressed). It’s pretty much the same type of service, and I can totally see what happened to Julie P, happening at Jazmin Spa, it’s just THAT type of money driven business, with no real concern for retaining their clients.

If I could give negative stars, I would… One star is one too many. Here’s why:
Had a mani /​pedi with the BF several weeks ago and both came out wondering why we bothered. My pedicure started to peel after 2 days (!!), and every pedicure I have ever received in life, has lasted a minimum of two weeks. My manicure started to peel the same day.
Nevertheless, since we had already purchased Groupons that we couldn’t use towards these appts, we decided to give them another try for massages. So we book massage appts on the same day for my birthday in a few weeks… This is where it all goes downhill.
We call the morning of the appt b/​c I am sick as a dog and cannot bare to think about someone kneading my body at 10:00am, so the BF calls the spa, apologetically explaining our situation and wanting to reschedule. The «manager» (Kathy or Kathleen?) proceeds to immediately be annoyed and tell him there is a 48 hour cancellation policy and that she cannot pay her employees who work on commission unless we come in. He again apologizes and explains to her that he is sorry, but we cannot make it. She then tells him that the «person who is not sick» should still come in. He explains to her that we booked the massages to come in together, but she doesn’t care. She then says she will void our groupons!!!
If she would have been reasonable, and told us that we had to pay a small cancellation fee for rebooking, we would have gladly paid it. But no, this was not her solution. Her only option was to have the «non-​sick one» come in. When my BF decided he didn’t want to leave me sick at home while he got a massage, she said she would cancel our groupon. Wow.
Save your money, your time and your patience. This place is nothing more than your average nail shop with some other menu items thrown in, so they try to call themselves a «spa». SPA??? REALLY? I have been to my share of upscale spas (none of which have side-​by-​side stations, set 2 feet apart, with girls working on you while constantly chattering in Vietnamese — as another reviewer pointed out), and in the rare occasion I’ve had to reschedule, I have never ever received this kind of «customer disservice». The fact that her sole reason for being rude is because her massage staff work on commission only, should never be the customer’s problem.
I called back 20 minutes later to speak to her to tell her she has lost our business. The girl who answered the phone (who was not the manager) apologized and seemed embarrassed, before she put the real «manager» on the phone…
Lucky for me, she has no power to «void» my groupons, and I will be calling Groupon customer service on Monday to get my purchase refunded.
In a nut-​shell: low-​class, unprofessional and horrible «customer service». Stay away. Far away.

My first visit here was fine so I scheduled a spa half day — facial, massage, manicure, and pedicure. It was all bad — my skin looked horrible for 2 days after the facial where the woman talked thru the whole thing. The masseur spent the majority of her time on my legs and it was very painful even tho’ I kept telling her she was hurting me. The young lady doing the pedicure was more interested in what was going on behind her and more than once filed my toe not the nail. The manicurist was running late and felt rushed. The advertised 4 hour experience lasted 3 hours 15 minutes. When I was paying the receptionist asked how it was and I said «Ok». If someone in my business said «Ok» after a spa afternoon I would have asked, «Why not great?» or something but she did not even acknowledge my response. Certainly not worth near what it cost. I wrote the spa regarding my experience but received no response at all. Thankfully I do not live in the area so do not have to think about going back.

This was the worst spa I’ve ever been too! I took my sister here for her birthday. First, this place is not like a typical spa, it looks like a nail shop with some rooms in the back. The nail shop side is indeed crazy and hectic. I hated the manicure and pedicure we received. Nothing was relaxing about it. There was about four girls talking and laughing loudly over us, which was upsetting, because I thought we were paying extra for something that would be more relaxing. This was like going to a regular nail shop.
I also received a thermal body treatment, which was nothing great. I felt like I could have went home and rubbed some body scrub on myself and it would have been equivalent. My sister also got a facial and then her face broke out in a horrible rash afterwards too. Not like a normal acne outbreak, but a serious rash. Personally, the overall experience was just bad. We went here because it was cheap compared to other places, but I feel like we just wasted our money now.

Like some of the other users, I too had a problem on my first visit — but the only difference was, they resolved it courteously and professionally for me, s o perhaps they’re learning from people’s feedback! I had a service scheduled and the person scheduled to do it had car trouble — so a long wait, with the receptionist keeping me up to date all along. Ended up having to cancel, and they offered me an appointment for the next day at half off, which I accepted. The service itself was worth the wait! So here’s hoping your time with them will be easy and uneventful!

Ok, maybe it was just my experience but everything went wrong.
First I attempt to get an appointment for a facial but they tell me I get a free pedicure if I come on the weekdays. Ok deal.
So I show up and they say ok pay for both, uh no, that was awkward. Then the girl at the desk proceeds to tell me how she had been throwing up all day. Lovely way to start of a relaxing experience.
Off to the pedicure where the women complained about working as a nail tech in atlanta versus south carolina because you make no money in atlanta compared to SC. again fantastic for people to tell you how much they hate there jobs while preforming them.
Then on to the facial which was equally terrible. I have never had my skin look worse post facial, maybe its a special of Jazmin Spa. So the prices are cheaper, but honestly the experience was so terrible I will pay more anywhere else.

I love this place! So much more than a nail salon. The staff is extremely friendly and no matter how many people are waiting they take their time and do a great job. They are a «no razor» salon which I appreciate having been the victim on an over zealous pedicurist. OUCH! The chairs are full service with excellent massage features and the whirlpools are clean. They have a great aesthetician who is fast and doesn’t leave me with pencil thin eyebrows. The price are a little higher than other nail shops but it is well worth it.
