Outstanding Job. I did the body work, tie-​rod and lower control arm myself. The alignment was way off and they did an outstanding job in short time on short notice and honored the online coupon. Very happy. Even gave me an estimate to show how much I saved by doing a lot of the work myself. I will come back here next time.

I came here to get an oil change. I got a coupon in the mail that was addressed to a previous occupant but they took it anyways. Service was quick and cheaper than most places around. The staff were friendly and the waiting chairs were comfortable. Will be back in a couple months for next oil change.

Just got back from Neighborhood Tire Pros and I was extremely pleased. I only had two front tires replaced that I had shipped from a tire warehouse but the service was excellent. Cindy was friendly and helpful. The waiting area was clean and pleasant. The fact that downtown Decatur is a short walk away is great if you need longer service. I made an appointment at 9:30am for a 10:30am appointment. I was done by 11:00am! I have NEVER been in and out of a car shop that fast.
I will definitely try them out for other service on my car in the future.

The staff was really friendly. The price was decent. And I received a Starbucks giftcard for checking in. I will consider them again for future tire services. Thanks.

My family has been coming here for several years with several different cars and Goodyear has always provided friendly, efficient service. We use them for oil changes, emissions tests, tire repair, and overall check-​ups. They are very responsive in letting you know when your car is ready, which is appreciated.
A lot of car service places will try to tell you that all sortsa stuff is wrong with your car even though you just bring it in for one simple, specific thing. If it’s something detrimental or hazardous, feedback is welcomed. But when people are just being weaselly, that’s another thing. In my experience, Goodyear is good about NOT being like that, which is rare to find among any business in the automobile field. Keep it up, Goodyear!

I normally get average service here, but today blew me away. I called in to see how busy they were and they said if I came in in 15 – 20 minutes they could get me out before they closed.
I drive over and walk in only to be told that they don’t have time for me and whoever told me was wrong because a bunch of people just came in. Well… that’s fine, but I scheduled my work before the walk-in’s. Seriously now.

I went in to them when my boyfriend’s car had a flat tire. I told them I just wanted to get the flat tire fixed, as my own car was in the shop and I just really wanted to get back to work. They took that to mean they couldn’t upsell to me, which I appreciated. Literally, I sat with one of the mechanics and watched the price go down as he took things off that I didn’t want to fix at the moment. They were fairly busy but I was in and out in the 45 minutes promised. Furthermore, I mentioned that my boyfriend wants to replace all his tires soon, and I was given a discount – three tires at the lowest price they offered, as if I was replacing all four tires at the same time. Very accommodating and helpful. When/​if I need help with my own tires, I’ll go here.

Had a great experience today with a small problem. We had a bolt lodged in one of our tires, and it was Labor Day Weekend. We looked them up on Unilocal and called. They were open; they were courteous on the phone; they were courteous at the desk; they didn’t try to upsell us; they simply repaired the tire; charged us $ 16 + tax; and called us when it was ready which was within two hours.

The shop was courteous and professional, but I never got past the feeling like they were just trying to work the standard Goodyear upsell. I went in for a very minor tire leak. They did a great job of finding the leak and quickly getting me an answer, but they basically threw their hands up in the air and claimed its slightly offset location on the tire tread meant it was unrepairable. They showed me this tiny puncture hole that was the culprit, and I just couldn’t fathom a small patch couldn’t repair it. They insisted that I would need a new tire which on an full size SUV ran over $ 200. I went to Mobley Tire down the street (five star rated on Unilocal) and they ended up being able to repair the old tire for $ 10. I also found out that the $ 220 price quoted me to by Goodyear was still more than the market price for the tire elsewhere in Decatur where I found it for $ 185.
I can appreciate that Goodyear is trying to provide the best repair possible but the reviews below and my experience suggest that they may be too conservative which improves their sales and hurts customers pockets.
It would be difficult for me to come back to this shop for further work.

I went in to get a patch on my tire and they chipped my rim. When I pointed it out he denied they did it and claimed it was impossible they could have done it. I regret going here.

These folks always treat me well and talk straight. I keep coming back. For the past four years they’ve done my tires, oil, battery, inspection.

Okay. So I could be called a do-​it-​yourself kinda gal, so much of the mechanics I witness aren’t that good. These guys were pretty slow. I needed an oil change and an emission inspection– it took these Einstein’s 2 hours to perform those two simple tasks. Then upon retrieval of my vehicle, I was recommended a service that many dealerships and car manufacturers alike have specifically said is not needed. This was a fuel injection service (cleaning out fuel injectors). For the price they charge for this service, I could go to an auto parts store and buy myself ALL NEW FUEL INJECTORS and still have money left over. So I did the «service» myself and bought some Gumout, poured it into my tank for about $ 4. I have been disappointed by these fellows a few times and this was my last go at it. I will not be returning.

This is my first one-​star rating, with good reason. This place is the worst. Never ever ever go here.
My car started smoking one evening and after checking under the hood it appeared an oil leak was the culprit. I took it to Goodyear the next morning (it was a Saturday and they were one of the only places open.) After calling to check they could see me (which they said «of course we can, come on in») I get there and they tell me it will be at least 2 hours before they can even look at my car. Well, I’m needed out of town the next morning and I want to make sure the car is good to drive, so I decide to wait it out at the McDonald’s nearby (which gets a much higher rating then this place.) 2 hours later I get a call and go back over where they proceed to tell me that I need both oil gasket covers replaced (only one was leaking) and that I need 3 hoses replaced as well. They give me an estimate of right at $ 800. While I’m debating what to do with my fiancée the employee makes sure to note that it is imperative we get the work done now or risk the car catching fire. He tells us we shouldn’t drive the car, either we leave it there until the work can be done on Monday or drive it home only and leave it there until we can bring it back on Monday.
Well, while I was at McDonald’s (that has free wi-​fi, btw) I googled about oil leaks vs. oil seeps. I didn’t have a full-​blown leak, I had a seep where oil slowly seeps out from the gasket cover and down onto the hot engine components below. Everything I read said you would be good driving the car, but you should tighten the covers and make sure to keep an eye on the oil level and don’t let the seep get out of hand. Once it’s a leak (dripping out at regular intervals) you should look into getting the gasket covers replaced. This guy didn’t reveal any of this information, just that I definitely needed to leave the car to get the repairs done there. I really needed to be somewhere out of town the next morning and they couldn’t even touch the car until Monday. We decided to take the car home and pay the $ 50 free for waiting the two hours so we could be told that our car would probably most likely catch fire if we didn’t pay $ 750 more.
After getting home we tightened the gasket covers ourselves (they were very loose and it was clear they never touched them at all.) We drove that day 2 hours on the interstate out of town then around town that night without incident. The next day we took the car by a Sears and had them give an estimate. They said we only really needed one of the gasket covers replaced and 2 of the hoses. Unfortunately they couldn’t do the work that day and we had to be back at work on Monday morning in Atlanta. They gave an estimate of $ 440 and that included BOTH gasket covers.
Tuesday morning I took the car to Roger Jordan Garage in Inman Park (by a friend’s recommendation) and told them what I want and what my other estimates were. SUPER great place. They looked at my car within an hour AND had both gasket covers replaced by 3pm for $ 450. Nearly cut Goodyear’s «estimate» in half.
So this Goodyear got $ 50 out of me, but never will it happen again. The place is full of crooks who try to scare and intimidate you into getting work done there.
Avoid like the plague.

Bad Bad Bad Bad!!! I’ve used them severl times, and haven’t had any complaints, until my last visit. I needed new tires, a new battery and new brakes — they screwed up royaly. I question if they had a 12 year old working on my car.
1.) they replaced my battery with a small one which ended up exploding–
2.) the failed to bolt my caliper after changing my brakes, which could have killed us. Thankfully, we didn’t get hurt.
3.) they damaged the lock to my wheels, and replaced them with large lugnuts that were way too big.
4.) Finally, they installed my tires with Racing/​high performance tires which have a very short lifespan. I found this out the hard way after having a blowout while traveling out of state. I had to replace all 4 of my Goodyear tires which only had 10K miles on them.
Not only did they screw me first three problems, they 4^th one came back to haunt me after I completely forgot about my horrible experience with goodyear. Stay away. They are nothing but con-​artists.

I’m gonna have to give this place a good review because I actually had great service today.
I dropped my boyfriend’s car off to get an oil change while I had a doctor’s appointment within walking distance down the street. (I would have went to my newfound place on Howell Mill Road, but this was most convenient.) I was gone for an hour and the car was ready by the time I came back. They didn’t try to upsell me on anything.
I only dropped the car off here because I read on Unilocal that management had changed. The last time I went here in 2008, I got really pissed off at the service. But none of that today.
Verdict: Not crap. Congrats on the comeback, Goodyear Decatur.

I heard that the management at this shop changed recently, and I’m happy to report that their service has improved. They used to have sketchy worker Nathanael that would hit on me (despite my having a wedding ring), but I haven’t seen him around recent trips. Thank goodness :)
In my most recent visit, they got my emissions test, oil change, & tire rotation done in less than 2 hours, and under $ 45 total! I like to come here for emissions test because it’s cheaper than elsewhere. It used to be $ 17, now it’s $ 19, but still cheaper than $ 25 everywhere else.
There was also an advertised special on the outside billboard– oil change & tire rotation for $ 19.95– great price!
I’ll likely come here again in the future, especially for the emissions test. I’m glad that they’ve changed for the better. Keep it up!

As usual, another hit or miss mechanic. Upsell is not as hard as down the road, but they still ask. Go in knowing what you need and ask questions about their suggestions.
Business is very busy. Your experience will be better if you leave your car.

I walked in for an oil change and emissions check, since my registration needs to be renewed. The very young-​looking sales rep handed me a «birthday card» of coupons, one of which I asked to be applied to my oil change.
I waited for the oil change and emissions, which took about 45 minutes. When they were done, they told me I needed tires (which I did) and that my axle boot cap was torn (already knew that) and offered to price out the repairs for me.
Their poorly rated Goodyear Integrity tires were going to be a whopping $ 78per, with no option to NOT get the road hazard warranty — I found them at Sam’s club for $ 63, which would include balancing and repair. The «mandatory» alignment check was going to cost me $ 80, putting the estimate for just the tires at almost $ 600. The additional cost of the axle replacement was another $ 275.
He asked if I wanted to open a Goodyear credit account, which I am seriously regretting saying yes to. The computer froze, and he proceeded to write down ALL of my information — SSN and driver’s license number included — on a notepad to «process later». I regrettably did not stick around to ensure that he shredded it or handed it over. If my identity is stolen, it’s my own damn fault and I know who to ask first. I think I’ll be calling the manager so he’s aware his employees are performing seriously risky behavior at the expense of their customers.
All in all, a young, inexperienced service personnel, obviously commission-​driven, completely drove me out of ever going there again. I hope he didn’t compensate for his loss of commission by selling my information for identity theft.

This place just confounds me. Taking your care there is like Automobile Roulette — you’ve got a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ chance of not getting completely ripped off. I don’t like those odds.
I’ve had decent experiences here, but I’ve also now had 2 TERRIBLE experiences where I was taken to the cleaners for questionable repairs. I think it really depends on who you get when you drop off your car. Some of the guys are straight-​up and will take care of you, but there is at least one bad apple that took the Goodyear Upselling training a bit too seriously. And you know what they say about one bad apple…
